In all honesty I'm always in the middle of a campaign game and have much less time to game than i would like. I don't play 100s of new (or new to me) games in a year. That said, I have to say that Slay the Spire would be my GOTY. I hoped the co-op would make it worth all the upkeep that the digital version does for you, but was REALLY surprised hiw much I loved the tactile gameplay. It is amazing

Slay the Spire the Board Game is my GOTY, followed closely by Fateforge: Chronicles of Kaan. Both are excellent solo and co-op experiences.

One thing I like about Top Game of 202x videos are they usually have a different mix of games based on what the content creators actually experienced. This then exposes me to games I would have otherwise not seen. I own AE, and I’ve played CoLab, but I’ve never even heard of the others. Now that I know of them, I can learn more about them. Arcs is my GotY. Everything about it works so well. The three game campaign mode is just so much fun. In the single game mode, it’s like a knife fight in a phone booth. It is just so intense. While the campaign mode is wonderfully narrative, less cutthroat, but just as puzzling.

Great video! The only game from your list that I have is Buru and it is still on the shelf. Hopefully I can play it before returning to school next week.

Mine showed up unannounced on Sunday. It’s a lot to go through.

Regarding these secret cards... the only real problem i have with them is that you can't really sleeve and protect until the time comes to use them... which is troublesome in a humid country where you want to protect sooner rather than later. Would you say the box has room for sleeved cards?

To my mind, Tales from the Red Dragon Inn had the best start guide. A whole gameplay chapter that gradually introduces concepts with a very easy to reference guidebook. So excited for Arydia, can't get here soon enough.

So Alex from BoardGameCo almost took a knife to the skills, and Hungry Gamer tried slamming them face down on the table. Let’s see what the next unboxing video does. Maybe peel the dual layer board apart?

Can't wait for my copy to deliver. At 16:30 ish you push the tile on one of the edges and it'll lift up the other edge so you can flip it over or place on the character board. Not sure which yet. But, so excited for this one! Which path are you going to play first?

You are right. I've had this game for a year and haven't played it because of the game cover. I look at the edge and I'm like maybe we should try this and then I look at the cover and it goes right back on the shelf. It just isn't one that inspires me to play it from the cover. The cards feels fine to me and the standies are really nice. I'm going to give it a play this weekend so I can decide if it gets a rehome.

It LOOKS simple, but try and win, and THATS where it gets fun, when the game beats YOU and you gotta do some thinking
