    I find it hard to follow with reading the text on screen while the gameplay goes in the background. Maybe switch between a text screen or use part of the screen for footage and part for text. You actually did this at a couple points in this video, but its just for a split second.

      @@ZemTennar Mainly the part with the replays from streamed matches. I am trying to watch the gameplay but then the text is what you are talking about so I start to read that but reading and watching at the same time makes the videos hard to follow. The gameplay not really being related to your point also makes it feel less coherent.

    genuinely, my favorite anchor pokemon is toxapex (yes, in doubles). it does two main things: soak up damage early in exchange for a toxic before getting health back with regenerator, and setting up as many stockpiles as i have time for before sitting on the field and knocking out every opposing mon with toxic and infestation while staying healthy with recover. tera grass turns its ground and electric weaknesses into resistances, and partners with fake out and redirection help it set up more easily. ive been going through a lot of options to get the strategy to work how i want, but the current team is toxapex w/ leftovers, razor claw focus energy hydreigon, incineroar w/ safety goggles and taunt over flare blitz, flame orb guts ursaluna, gothitelle w/ shadow tag, trick room, and fake out, and sinistcha w/ matcha gotcha, life dew, rage powder, trick room, and mental herb. both trick room setters are supported well by incineroar and each other, making trick room very difficult for the opponent to prevent. if they dont have a good answer to one of my setters, i can also choose to lead toxapex to get a head start on toxic damage. ursaluna can ohko most mons under trick room, and i usually aim for whatevers best into toxapex so it can win lategame. finally, hydreigon pairs well as a lead next to any of the three supporting mons on the team, allowing it to set up a focus energy before dealing big damage with draco meteor and tera fire heat wave, and can also come in the back to clean up anything toxapex cant handle. im not sure if my opponents recognize that toxapex is the biggest threat on my team, so the psychological pressure may not be there, but it often gets every knockout in a game - several times, my opponents have knocked out all of toxapex's partners without losing any of their own pokemon before getting reverse swept by the unkillable bowl. i think any mon that can turn a 0-3 into a 4-3 counts as an anchor.

    Less of a specific pokemon and more of a specific combo. My favorite combo is using a prankster pokemon to swagger any opposing pokemon while you have a pokemon with the mirror herb item in hand. This provides situationally useful status effect while giving your benefitting pokemon a free sword dance. If the benefitting pokemon has acrobatics, then you get a same turn extra powered attack before the opponent can react. If you want a specific pokemon to use with this, Grimmsnarl works the best as it can both start the shift as well as directly benefit from it. And with attacking moves with very useful secondary effects such as Spirit Break and Knock Off, it can very easily change tactics quickly in the heat of battle.

    One of mine greatest issue is i doubt myself when playing (second guessing myself). Ex was a ladder game. Picture this i had indeedee and gladde (yes i use hard trickroom i know its cringe but for the my first year (2024) i want to try as many team types as possible) while the opponent had blastoise and pelipper. The play i was gonna do was trick room and wide guard (as I knew water spout would happend) but i over thought it saying to myself he know i would wide guard and would double my indeedee with single target moves. So i messed up didn’t wideguard and instantly lost the game as the blastoise water spouted nuking my side. i got so piss off at myself as my overthinking got the best of me when i should have done the obvious moves. This video was a really useful I started Shorty after the 2023 world championship

    • @ZemTennar
      @ZemTennar Месяц назад

      I am glad it was helpful. Sometimes we second guess and overthink and it can mess us up. Once you play enough games against enough teams it will make it easier to know the right thing to do. A lot of the confidence will come with repetition of playing games. Nothing like practice.
