The problem isn't that what Quagmire said was wrong, but he's literally no better, in fact he's debatably worse in many aspects. Maybe if they had a more moral character in the show do this speech that it would make more sense, but getting one of the most evil characters in the entire series to do it just makes him a giant hypocrite.

As bad as Brian has become over the years, I’ll take him over Quagmire because Quagmire is so much worse. He also hits on Lois. Worse, he tried to go for Meg and had an affair with Cleveland’s wife. He’s also deadbeat Dad, but Brian changed his son’s life for the better for the short time he was in it. Meanwhile Quagmire actively ignores the hundreds, if not thousands, of kids he has unless he almost sleeps with them. He’s a rapist, a sex offender and a creep. Brian may be a pretentious douchebag, but at least he’s not a disgusting creep. So glad you called Quagmire out on his BS.

Sure, Quagmire admitted he loves Lois, but at least he tried to keep it hidden and didn't make advances out of that love because he genuinely cares for Peter and just wants to see his friend happy, you can't say the same about Brian

I also thought there were 2-3 things wrong. First off, Brian might be a bad dad but at least he’s there for his son. And didn't Quagmire leave his children in “Tales Of A Third Grade Nothing”?
