Demonstration of the self-building shields on the Prinz Eugen. The shields are built in such a way that all parts of it can be built by the welders, including the conveyors for supplying them with materials. As long as the shields aren't separated from the hull (or as long as there are materials available), the shields will be able to rebuild and draw fire from enemy turrets. Workshop: steamcom...

It wouldn't be hard to actually allow for functional mech building in space Engineers. simply Introduce a bunch of joint blocks and a control module that lets you assign them as part of your standard skeleton (ankles, knees, hip, torso, shoulders, elbows, wrist, etc.) and when in place the control module will link the joints together with invisible bones appropriately. We've seen this with various programs with character models that are already rigged but you can alter the length and proportions of limbs and other parts, and the character will still animate. With a similar setup, as long as the mech has a standard frame with the joints oriented in the right place, it will move like a character model would both on the ground and in zero-g. Imagine the possibilities for creating power suits for mining, construction, and combat.
I like the spider look of it
If it has the thrust, I'd love to see a battle on the moon!
If only I had the coding prowless to pull something like that off. x3
I don't either. It uses scripts from the workshop.
SIEG ZEON!!! (from Mobile Suit Gundam)
freaking amazing
Thing looks more like an AC than mobile suit to me
The script alone to get those thrusters working the way you want must have been tricky.
I wouldn't know. It uses Whip's subgrid thruster script.
@@CrescentPHI interesting. when I tried something similar that script got real buggy for me. still this is impressive.
I would love to see them take off from a ship
Okay but seriously, HOW?!
I hope progression of Mobile Suit technology presists into Space Engineers 2
Looks beautiful! reminds me of the EMS-10 Zudah lol, love it!
This is probably the most incredible creation in Space Engineers I have ever seen.
Thanks you!
Am i tripping or did we jump from the YMS-08 to the YMS-11?
there's also a yms-10, but I didn't make a vid on it as it doesn't do anything particularly better than the 08.
@CrescentPHI ahhh. Makes sense. I guess it was just a model to test out some stuff and frame design?
Are all of these experimental mobile suits original designs, or are they a personal take on frames from the franchise remade in Space Engineers?
It varies. This one and the 10 are modelled after the landman rodi and zudah respectively, but the 11 isn't based on any mobile suit in particular.
@CrescentPHI the 11 is amazing,honestly
Seig Zeon!

Were people live, love...and die. My God, do they die a lot.
how do you avoid clang
Mainly by making sure everything has enough clearance, and blocks close to the subgrids mostly being non-deformable.
It would be a really good npc boss in the future! Great job
Thanks! Maybe, but I'd have to look into whether AI blocks/MES can interact with the script.
Amazing! 😍
Thanks!
you made one. you actually made one! no offense, not trusting you with a space colony.
Tutorial for vanilla if you can. Please
Guess I have to test it on a re-entry and see it burn up it atmosphere
Those thrusters are for space use you would only crash your suit 😂
Looks great!!! Tutorial please!!!
Heavy Master Chief, I know that’s him! Closest I’ve come to mech building is building a backpack for one. It flies around and has a rail gun turret that lights up enemies.
I love how the space engineers community has slowly drifted towards the development of mobile suits
It's just the natural end goal of all things mechanical. Like carcinisation but for machines.
@@CrescentPHIyes! I was really excited to see someone else tryna make one of these after starting way back in like 2021-2022 and having been on and off since
How long do you think we'll have to wait to get to the 6th gen mobile suits?
Excellent work on the legs, def going to study this one’s movement profile for my own work
This is a work of art, god damn
That's amazing dude, I want more
I don't build that fast lol
Can you share it with us so we can play with it too? I would love to see what makes it tick. You did so good with the mech i gotta try it.@@CrescentPHI
@@mashayasharal5336 There's a link to the workshop in the description.
Boston Dynamics, are you?
Yes
I'd love to use this on the xbox version, but i dont think thats gonna work that well lmao
I can't wait to see how mech building will be for SE2
Same! I'm mainly hoping Keen will be able to reduce those phantom forces that make subgrid-heavy builds like mechs start spinning for no reason.
@@CrescentPHI I'm also looking forward to 25cm modded blocks, I assume some blocks won't be for the smallest size, but with mods we can probably solve that, that would help with details and miniaturization of some components.
@@Redxyellow1 Those'll be neat as well yeah, though I imagine stuff like timers will be 25cm blocks by default for convenience.
I mean, they stop damage under 25m a second, so that will probably help
Zaku
This is no Zaku, boy. No Zaku!
I'd dare say this is much more advanced than a Zaku II.
Very cool
Thanks!
Amazing!
Glad you like it Deathlok!
El mod esta para consola?
It is only on pc due to using scripts.
Is this on console?
It is not, and can't be as it uses scripts.
Damn
é raro ver mechas assim atualmente
Why do people make the feet tires on mechs?(Just curious)
Wheels on suspensions (and the suspensions themselves) don't take damage from collisions with voxels, and if set to 0 friction allow a grid to slide across the ground like a hovercraft. This makes them pretty ideal for using as mech feet, which can be seen working to great effect on Halipatsui's mechs for example.
@CrescentPHI oohhhhh, thats actually cool Ty
That is a cute fat mech
How do you get the legs to move with the direction your moving?
Scripts. This one uses Blarg's Hinge Steering, but nowadays I use Piston And Rotor Keybinds [PARK].
try to land on the ship and shoot the hull open that thing is really cool
Good work. You have some neat previous designs. Keep it up.
Glad you like them! With newer mechs I've been aiming towards having them be more usable in survival, such as by reducing subgrid amounts and using ions/atmo's.
id literally pay to learn how you made this
Eh, it wouldn't feel right to take money for something that's only made possible by the scripts written by other people.
You could call this 💯ROTOR MOUTH💯
Awesome!
Beautiful!!! Looks like a man rodi from iron-blooded orphans
Thanks! It was made to resemble the landman rodi in particular, as the peg legs of the man rodi don't really strike my fancy.
Gusion and Rodis are my favorite Mobile Suits as of now, from a design and aesthetic perspective, so this is beyond cool to me.
How does it fair on planets?
it can fly well enough, but its hydrogen capacity is garbo and not even giving it a large tank fixes that.
