Abelisaurs of Subterramundus
Subterramundus is a realm ruled by tyrannosaurs. But wherever the giants go, scavengers and opportunists are sure to follow. Under the rule of the giant tyrants, the abelisaurs of subterramundus fill scavenger and small hunter niches. From their patagonian origins, several genera have managed to establish themselves under the rule of the tyrannosaurs.
Discover the different species of abelisaurs that call Subterramundus home, and explore their various intricacies and unexpected adaptations.

Hello and welcome to spectember! Now that smaugust is over and spectember has begun, I am pleased to present my spectember prompt list! The speculative life forms I’ll post over the coming month will be a mix of creatures from Subterramundus and The World of Snow and Ice. Edited in Clipchamp Music: "Tackle It" from Clipchamp
Tyrannosaurs of Subterramundus
Просмотров 15 тыс.6 месяцев назад
The most widespread vertebrate predators of subterramundus are theropod dinosaurs. Of these, it is the tyrannosaurs that have managed to stay at the top of the food chain. But these new kings are not the descendants of giants like tyrannosaurus or tarbosaurus… Discover the different species of tyrannosaurs that call Subterramundus their home, and explore their various intricacies and secrets. FINALLY!! I haven't seen a good Speculative project on RUclips in a long while ❤🎉
Comentário aleatório para engajamento que ninguém vai intender
If Gojirasuchus specializes in drowning prey and wading through water, shouldn't it have raised nostrils like those on the spinosaurs? Drowning isn't an effective strategy when prey is also adapted to holding their breath...
Gojirasuchus has a system of air chambers in its skull to store extra air. With the skull held above the prey, snatching a breath is easier for it than for its struggling victims. Plus it's not really specialised for drowning prey, that's just a preference.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl Ah I see. Thank you for clearing that up!
Is it my impression or their skull looks like a tyranosaurid mix carcharodontosaurid skull
Does that microtyrannus robust form thing happen in real life? Like is there a vertebrate species that can become 10s of times bigger than they would've been under certain environments?
yes. If you Google "adult axolotl morph" you'll find an unusual example of a neotenic animal growing into an "adult" body. It doesn't exactly get 10 x bigger but it's definitely distinct from its usual form.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl Anything like this in reptiles?
@@surgeonsergio6839 i dont think so. ontogenetic niche shift is already rare and neoteny is even rarer
One critcher i want make is called Ankylocaudata and is extreme descendant of shunosaurus, having larger club tail and thick back armor yet able to stand at 3 meters of height
at 3 meters tall that's a cute sauropod
@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl indeed
Are their Antelidon in this under ground world
If you mean entelodonts, then I don't have any
What about maip macrothorax ❤
extinct here unfortunately
Noctuuria is an island btw yea i wanted share this idea with you hehe
I imagined a place kinda like this called Noctuuria where almost all terrestrial and amphibian prehistoric wildlife lives and thrives.I just think of it rn so i haven't created content yet but i do have some ideas on how all those animals can coexist..Or fight
Neat! I'd like to see some of this world
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl i'll try to make
Could you talk about other groups that live in subterramundus?I like your vids
I will, it just takes a while to get the video done.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl get it
Any Metriacanthosauridae Or Carcharadontosauridae?
I once considered adding carcharodontosaurs but I've decided to have them extinct in the modern day. Metriacanthos are also extinct
Darn. All 3 theropod groups are so overlooked & under appreciated, you know?
Well, good to see at least one of them getting some love here.
@@forrestannis909 Agreed. I probably won't have any metris or carchs in the World of Snow and Ice either but I will have ceratosaurs and I'll be definitely paying tribute to metris and carchs with the other theropods
Sounds good.
It makes a lot of sense for them to lose their arms, great video
Straight out of ice Age 3 :D
for real
when ceratopsians of subterramundus vid
next ;)
little question we gonna have a discord?
I already have a Discord but I don't want to post the link here on RUclips
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl oh
IS ok If don't want
We can Just have a discord server
Damn they lost their arms. They're just nubs.
Great video! I find the idea of a swamp-hunting abelisaur especially interesting - it's not a concept I've really considered before, but it does make sense in light of the fact that they're long-legged hunters adapted to do everything with their head, and lacking protruding arms to catch on things.
Abelisaurs arms are so useless they lost them when they evolved
What was the first subterramundean specimen discovered? And is there evidence of spinosaurids in the swamp environments?
Canonically the first animal of Subterramundus is ironically a recent one, a terror bird. The spinosaurs are sadly extinct.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl damn that’s sad. I wonder if others have taken their niche.
@@The_LivingCreature there are some that have! they'll be featured in the video after next
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl I’m excited to see the animals that carried the torch onwards!
I absolutely love it you have done a great job❤😊
thanks!
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl you're welcome my good bird I mean good sir❤️
Abel lizards go brrrrrrr.
Wow, I can take some inspirations here for my Dungeons and Dinosaurs Campaign in the future with Dr. Dhrolins Dictionary of Dinosaurs.
Gojira!
My favorite clade of theropod dinosaurs
Love it, abelisaurids are my prefered carnivors.
truly a fascinating group
Here’s a question . Are there any spinosaurids in subterramundus ?
Nope, but I'll be covering what animals fill their niches in the video after next
Gojirasuchus that’s so cool .
An amaezing video without a dougt, you did a great job mate, and don´t worry the art takes time, so take what ever time you want ; ) post: my favorite is the all mighty Gojirasuchus.
thank you!
this series (and arguably kappa) are my will to live
Can you please cover the dromeosaurs next, please?
I've already got two other topics waiting in line. Maybe the next discord vote will pick the raptors.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl Ok, in the meantime, keep up the good work!
@@kadenbowdige2896 thanks! will do
Nice
Yes...!
I just discovered your channel today and I have a question but are there Spinosaurs in Subterramundus.
sadly no, but there are convergent replacements which I will be covering after the next topic.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl oh okay well at least there’s like a dinosaur or something else that eats fish.
Nice to see some unique Kaimere inspired projects. This shit is fucking awsome!
@@theabstractguy411 and something better then the monsterverse version
@@canonbehenna612 ya I like tgis better then the monsterveres . But who would win Subterramundus vs kaimere vs ostalia
I discovered your channel fairly recently. I've seen your video on Tyrannosaur species of Subterramundus about a day ago, and now I've seen this one. I often don't comment on videos, but I've decided to do on this one. I do have an interest in some level of spec-evo and creature design for making fantasy worlds, and I do really like your creative and seemingly scientifically plausible spec-evo creature designs, at least when it comes to their traits that they have evolved with. The region they are in is definitely very much fantasy, but I still really like it. I don't think I've seen anyone do spec-evo and detailed creature design, as well as detailed creature behavior being made for a subterrainian biome similar to the ideas from the now unscientific "hollow earth theory". I really like your videos, they're very good made and the art is just awesome. Keep up the good work, you're doing great!
Thank you very much! The hollow earth/lost world theme is one of my favourite fiction tropes, even if it is implausible/impossible. I wanted to do something different with this trope by having the "hollow" only be a small fraction of the planet composed of caves stretches across the continents.
What will happen if humans discover subterramundus?
"looks like (primate) meat's back on the menu boys!" - various predators
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl People would definitely take these animals and make them a cuisine. Also I feel like people would also use them for their own financial gain like fighting, zoos, possibly exotic pets and like I said food
@@JurassicB sadly, that is likely. However, many of these animals are not to be trifled with and most will end up killing a lot of their captors.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl wait I have an idea. How about you make a video about how people would exploit these animals
Truely a scary group of dinosaurs specially the one named after Godzilla
Nice 👍
Have you planned out where and when migrations to subterramundus have occurred? It might help you figure out which animals could have arrived in subterramundus.
I have a rough idea. 200 mya from Africa 100 mya from patagonia/argentina, 70 mya from Asia, Africa and also patagonia, 5 - 2 million years ago from Australia and Africa and Southeast Asia are just a few examples.
Why are all the male abelisaurs translucent?
because it's hard to look at if both were at full opacity
Are you going to make a spinosaurus video
Well, spinosaurs are extinct in Subterramundus but I might at some point talk about the actual spinosaurus if I have time for paleo stuff
😏You were inspired by the Carnos from Disney's Dinosaur, were you?😏Love it.
maybe a little hehe
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl 😁Oh yes you were.😁
2:55 me cameo‼️‼️‼️‼️
A dinosaur named after my favorite fictional character? Definitely worth the wait!!!
Better than godzillasaurus
@@godzillabebravethetrexretu1381 You mean Gojirasaurus, right?
The abelisaurs in your Subterramundus setting are really unique. I like that their arms have disappeared since they're known to have stubby arms that are useless. I do like the sexual dimorphism with the males being smaller than the females.
Why not the other way around and males using bright colors
@@canonbehenna612 Yeah, I know what you're saying especially since they remind me of crocodilians raising their young.
There is no need to apologize. Always take as much time as you need.
How come that some of your therapod females are larger than their male counterparts
often females are more dominant. also many female birds are larger than the males, so i see no reason why it should be different with some theropods.
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl but it’s implied now that females are smaller than their male counterparts.
@@tyrannotherium7873 not sure what you mean
@@TheWorldmaker-nr2gl What I mean by that is that males should be larger than their female counterparts because I think we found fossil evidence We also don't know if the Sue specimen is a male or a female But the only specimen that's confirmed to be a female Tyrannosaurus specimen is B Rex
@@tyrannotherium7873 well, either case it's just speculation. maybe the new dinosaurs' ecologies have changed to the point that the gender sizes have swapped as well.
A new Subterramundus video is always good to see, can't wait to see the next video 😊
glad to hear!
