    Where the hyraulic pressure measured? Numer 13, 14 and 15 on the checklist. Especially Measuring the charge pressure of the variable displacement pump (#14 on checklist) is supposed to be important.

    Surprised to see rear and front aux hydraulics installed at the same time. The Avant website claims these two options are not possible to install at the same time. Did your dealship just wire it up with a Y-fitting?

    • @Tarqwak
      @Tarqwak 12 дней назад

      Yes it's just a Y-fitting solution, would be nice to have a manual threeway valve there too, but this is good enough already. My 650i was a floor display model and already came with most of the options I wanted, local dealer installed: * Auxiliary hydraulics outlet in the rear, double acting (A449939) * Second auxiliary hydraulics outlet in the front (A449940) * Smooth drive (boom suspension) (A445633) * Engine heater (A449947) * 7-pin trailer socket (A418817) * Road legal registration (TH7) There's more "you can't have" options that a competent dealer can work around, like the Digger 260 with tilt adapter and a thumb at the same time. Or you could have 600 series boom lift cylinder on a 500 series Avant.

      @@Tarqwak Interesting. When I ordered my 860i I was told I can get either the front AUX or the rear AUX, so I prioritized the front AUX. So if I order the rear AUX kit and get a Y-fitting I could have both. Maybe the reason it can't be done officially is because there would be constant pressure on the unused coupling? Funny you mention the 260 digger. I have the remote controlled 260 with thumb and was wondering if the tilt couldn't be installed at the same time. Maybe I'll get around to it one day, but then again I don't like the cylinder that sticks out to the side in the Avant solution. Maybe there is a third-party roto tilt adapter which could be put in between. I'd need a secondary remote then. Nice project, but unlikely I'll find the time.

    • @nothingspecial5875
      @nothingspecial5875 12 дней назад

      @@Tarqwak A manual 3 way valve would be hard to make the switch accessing in the cockpit. You could get an electric 3-way valve and use one of the empty switch sockets in front of the radio to toggle between front and rear AUX.

    • @Tarqwak
      @Tarqwak 12 дней назад

      Should have gotten the rear AUX from the factory because it's a bit of pain to install later, as I was told ;) I'm thinking the fittings should be able to handle the pressure even when not flowing through, but you could also install a blind plugs in them perhaps. Tried the RC 260 on a demo day, super nice fine thumb control compared to the levered one. I have the regular 260 and tilt adapter, digging trenches there hasn't been a issue of scratching up the tilt cylinder yet, even with a 250 mm bucket. But tiltrotator with a thumb on the rotator body would be nice pick & place machine.

      Compared to <1t tracked mini excavator in €6k range the Avant setup is probably more powerful, but compared to 2t class €15k one they should be around the same, Avant+digger would be many times more expensive though. Tracked excavator advantages: * sideshift boom * 360° rotation * better blade Avant advantages: * turf tyres that doesn't maul up the grass * can be registered road legal * versatility, detach the digger and quickattach different tool * hundreds of different attachments: forks (sideshift, 360° tilt), 4-in-1 bucket, leveller, mower, auger, hydraulic breaker, wood chipper, log splitter, snowblower, front/rear 50 mm ball for moving trailers...

      For small jobs the 600 series Avants are near perfect, good balance of weight and power. Using the multi function drive unit as a auger driver works best in a sandy soil, if there's big rocks in the ground then the drillbit just spins ontop or gets stuck on the side of the rock. But little help with a metal spiky thing plus some shovel action and you can still get lots of holes done in a day.

      Burning ~1 litre of diesel per hour (~10 kWh energy) to get ~1 m³ of wood chips that's ~250 kg and gives ~1000 kWh of heat when burned, I think it's a pretty good tradeoff.

    Nice to see you working with the backhoe. It is more accurate than the 210 I have. You might want to push the support legs deeper because the sideways movement seems to move also Avant. If the ground was very soft that doesn’t remove the swaying. The support legs have also small spikes you might want to try. I have used them in my backhoe all the time and they help to keep machine at it’s place better at least if the ground is not like swamp or rock hard. It has more power than mine and it is way better because it turns more sideways than 210. I was lucky to be able to test 260 a little. I went on Friday to ”Avant murinat” at their factory in Ylöjärvi. They had a small pile of gravel for big boys to play around. It was in front of 640 and that combination felt really good. They had also a tour for their factory. The last time I saw it was in 2012 and they really have changed it a lot. It is probably three times the size it was 12 years go. They have lots of automation and the assemblyline is impressive. The most impressive thing in general was how clean everything there was. Even the places they manually weld the parts were very clean. Yes, they still have some seams that have to be welded manually because they are too tight for welding robots which they have several.

    • @Tarqwak
      @Tarqwak 3 месяца назад

      Some of the jerky sideways sloshing is because the quick attach is not very preciesly made on my 260, you can almost fit two M24 washers between the bottom adapter eye and Avant plate. Also side to side there's a quite a bit of slack. Not sure if I had the washers installed on this video, but it definately needs to be tightened up, then side to side motion won't jerk around so much, if at all. Haven't tried with the spikes much, but I did lower the blade a notch or two so that the blade is lower than fully retracted legs are. So then most of the time the blade should dig in also. Also on this video I think I forgot to put on the parking brake, that's why the tyres are rotating. They should do a demoday with moist clay, that'll be frustratingly (not) fun -.- In Estonia the local dealer is also building a new ~2000 m² showroom/office.

    Good morning :) Can you please share a video with a close-up mounting of the 260 digger? I cannot understand how you use the commands, when usually you have the small window behind the steering wheel. It has a quick release or how hard is to take off that small glass and put it back? Many thanks and keep up the good work. Another Avant lover :) 423 here from 2020, and I have sold it so today I will give it to the new buyer

    • @Tarqwak
      @Tarqwak 3 месяца назад

      I'll try to do a video about it, but basically you undo two nuts under the lower piece of the glass and lift it out, then attach the digger to the quick coupler, secure it to the boom with a pin manually, attach the hydraulics and carefully shimmy the digger control levers through the window opening. And you'll have to be very careful not to pinch the levers against the upper window edge when booming in/out and/or lifting the boom. It would be great if the window could be lifted up in one piece under the roof like on excavators, but it's not designed to do so, and with GT cab I'm not sure there would be enough headroom for it, but I'll try to model it up oneday, maybe it's doable.

    This one shows the problem of getting a grease cartridge all the way into the tube. The plunger is too large! forcing the tube to get treads started is a pain and sometimes the rod will disengage and make putting the tube in even harder. The spring has a hard time pushing the oversized plunger all the way in and gun will lose prime.

    Hi, damn you made me green of envy. I only have 520 and 210 excavator. Had them for 12 years now. Very nice combo there anyway that you have! I actually have thought also to make an S30 adapter even though 210 has a non standard fitting for the buckets. I’ve thought to make a ripper to dig stumps and use S30 for that. Could be too complex. You seem to have Stahlwerk plasma. I have been thinking if I should buy their compressor and plasma, but I haven’t done it yet. What model your plasma is? What about your compressor. Is it Stahlwerk also? It didn’t sound very loud. BTW did you weld the S30 pins of your adapter with stick. They seem to be only tagged with fluxcore.

    • @Tarqwak
      @Tarqwak 4 месяца назад

      I'm not sure the single shank ripper on 210/260 would do much better than a 250 mm wide bucket, as the cylinders are quite small and they don't put out quite enough force for the heavy duty ripper action. Better would probably be to have the ripper direct attached to Avant coupler. I'll do a 260 push/pull force measurement video oneday... I have the multimode machine "Stahlwerk WIG TIG AC/DC 200 + Plasma S" from around 2013. The plasma part works fine but not ideal for 10+ mm plates. Ideally should get a separate 5+ kW threephase compressor but for this kind of small cuts even my ~1 kW with 24 litre tank worked fine. On the plasmacut/compressor clips I tuned down the audio -12 dB, so it was actually 4 times louder or so. The pins I left with just the tackwelds, they're not going anywhere even with those and easier to remove once the need arises, probably never though.

    • @hajujajajuha2863
      @hajujajajuha2863 4 месяца назад

      I agree that Avant itself would have more power if a ripper was made for the normal work device fitting. It has much larger cylinders than those excavator devices. The problem I have had is that Avant has to be moved more if a ripper is directly in Avant. With the excavators it usually doesn’t need so much to drive around though it takes time. Thinking of a wet and soft ground and tractor type tires I have. I have 400 and 250 mm buckets and a special prototype ditch bucket for the excavator. The ditch bucket is a proto and Avant didn’t give any warranty and I use it on my own risk in the excavator. They made several years ago some of those and I bought it last year when they emptied their storages. The ditch bucket is actually better for stumps than 250 mm bucket. It is maybe 200 mm on the bottom and 600 mm on the top. It is taller then either of the normal buckets and it has very sharp sides. It also empties better than those other buckets because of the shape. I have quite a lot of clay here and especially the 250 mm bucket fills up with clay and it won’t empty itself, maybe 2/3 is filled all the time when digging clay. I’ve dug up stumps using all three buckets. The largest stumps have been of about 35 cm diameter pine and birch. Both fresh stumps. Took for awhile. The excavator couldn’t lift those. I had to roll them on the ground. I think 210 exc. has 50/25 cylinders. 50 being the inner diameter of cylinder (piston) and 25 being the diameter of the rod both in mm. Not sure though. I’ve been thinking if it was possible to switch the bucket cylinder and the boom cylinder (closest to Avant) to 60/30 if there was enough space. 210 is much smaller and lighter than 260 (about 230 kg only vs 420 kg or something). So it might not be able to handle the bigger cylinders.

      Just did some digging in moist clay/peat/gravel mix of materials and yup the 250 mm bucket gets clogged up in ja jiffie -.- Measured the 260 digger cylinders, rod/barrel outside: Boom 32/73 mm Arm 36/73 mm Bucket 36/73 mm Turning 30/70 mm Tilt 25/50 mm Guessing the barrels have 5 mm wall thickness, then at 200 bar they apply push/pull force of: Boom 6.4/4.7 tons Arm 6.4/4.3 tons Bucket 6.4/4.3 tons Turning 5.8/4.3 tons Tilt 2.6/1.6 tons Based on: www.trelleborg.com/en/seals/resources/design-support-and-engineering-tools/hydraulic-system-calculator SolidWorks or some other similar software could be used to find out the structural load limit based on the boom material design and thicknes. Compared to the 635 that weighed ~1.6 tons and had only one 36 kg rear weight, the 650i with 180 kg rear side weights and 36 kg rear weight (total ~2.2 tons with driver + ~0.5 tons the 260 digger) is now much more stable for digging, blade and outriggers down, parking brake on and it hardly ever moves forward due to digger pulling it.

      I just hate how RUclips comment field works with iPad. Have to retype … ----- Your 260 is more powerful clearly. I googled this because I jave not registered on the Finnish Avant site to download documents. I have the needed docs on paper. shop.avant-lader.ch/out/media/Backhoe%20260-3%20a37510%20&%20a433851%202020-06-10%2009-27-07.pdf That link has the PDF of parts list of 260. The document is published in June 2020. The boom seems to be D63/32 and the arm is D63/36. The bucket is D63/36. You got the wall thickness correct. My Avant is about 1,6 tons with the driver. 210 is about 230 kg. 210 digger can’t move my Avant, but it can easily lift the front wheels up in the air if the bucket is moving downwards. Well, digging a hole in the ground. 520 model has maximum work pressure of 185 bar. Having smaller cylinders and less pressure 210 digger on 520 Avant is clearly weaker on what comes to the cylinders. I checked on trelleborg site the boom cylinder lifting force and it is only about 2,8 tons. That is the worst because it is a pulling movement. Pushing force was about 3,7 tons. But those are only the values of the cylinders. The measurements and the geometries of the whole backhoe should be considered. It depends a lot of how the triangulars are in the backhoe. I mean if the cylinder can pull with 2,8 tons how much that is in the bucket when the backhoe is reaching out the maximum. How the boom cylinder is lined with the structure of the boom. I have to do some measuring later if larger cylinders would fit …

      The coldstart issue is with the Kubota V1505-E4B Stage V motor (4-cylinder, 19 kW, 2500 rpm max, 50 l/min hydraulic oil flow), allegedly it has different camshaft compared to the older Kubota V1505 Stage 3A (4-cylinder, 28 kW, 3200 rpm max, 66 l/min) that didn't have much coldstart issues. Current Avant 635i/640i models have Kohler KSD 1403NA (3-cylinder, 19 kW, 3000 rpm max, 66 l/min) motor, I'm not sure if this one has any coldstart issues. There's also Avant 645i/650i with Kubota V1505 CR-T (turbo, 4-cylinder, 33 kW, 3200 rpm max, 75 l/min) motor - but compared to the older ones it's said to have only air intake grid heater, no glow plugs. With the 635/640 19 kW Kubota, if you can run block heater for ~15 min and have hot air intake then the startup isn't a big issue. www.avanttecno.com/global/machines/600-series

      Yes, dangerously slow acceleration and moderately slower breaking (the trailer has intertial brakes), other than that no issues as it was nicely balanced and I didn't go over 70 km/h.

      This is a Chinese made timber trailer, ~2016 model year. In theory 3 ton cargo capacity and the crane should be able to lift ~300 kg at max distance of ~3.9 meters. I've added the ISO quick couplers to use it from Avant auxilary hydraulics but this time I forgot to bring the hoses and had to use the onboard pump with gasoline engine.

    • @Tarqwak
      @Tarqwak Год назад

      The 55 kW diesel Berlingo van pulled it fine 70+ km/h, could have gone 90 but I was keeping it slow and steady, the load was well centered on the trailer and it did no jackknifing attempts. The trailer did ok, the hubs got a bit hot but that could be because the intertial brakes are not adjusted for the weight properly, other than that, no problems, nothing got bent. Well... except the sketchy wood ramps, those got proper knackered.

      @stephenconway2468 Год назад

      @@Tarqwak What's weight you are looking at? The Avant is about 1500 kg with fuel and extras. It is at least 1400kg. The trailer is rated at just 1500 kg. It is never good to go to the max. The Berlingo is rated at 1200 kg max if you have the right model (as far as I know). I know you can pull heavier load but it is never clever to do so. Plus you might invalidate your insurance. I would never use a single axle trailer either. That ramp system is just so dangerous. The Avant has no suspension and can go over very easily. I know because I had had a few and ended up almost on my side.

    • @Tarqwak
      @Tarqwak Год назад

      Going by the book the trailer is rated for 1181 kg load, 319 kg empty, so 1500 kg total. But the axle on it is rated 1800 kg, and I've had ~1750 kg on it few times before, so yeah it can handle it, not very legitimately thought, shshhh. The 635 should be in 1530-1600 kg range in this configuration, but I'll try weighing it one day. Planning to get dual axle trailer, Eduard Multitransporter 3518-4-PO3-3056 probably, 3.56x1.80m flatbed, 620 kg empty, 2380 kg load, onboard ramps, 195/55R10 tyres, 30 cm removable sideboards, shock absorbers, drive on supports and extra floor supports.

      No, it wasn't. I'll try it next time, but still the digger has probably more pull than the blade/outriggers/tyres have traction, depends on the soil too perhaps.
