Pennine Wayne
Добавлен 15 апр 2020
My name is Wayne and I live in the Lancashire foothills of the Pennines, hence the name Pennine Wayne. It’s that name for now, as I’m still a bit unsure if it’s the right one or not. 🤔🙄🤪
I’ve been inspired by lots of RUclipsrs over the years and hopefully I can do the same for people thinking of getting out and enjoying the great outdoors.
My main reason for getting out on adventures is the freedom and peace it gives me. Oh and you meet lots of likeminded lovely people who sometimes become friends.
It’s also a great way to document your walks and create memories.
Please subscribe. It’s free and very much appreciated…….go on, you know you want to. 😜
Let’s get out there and clear our minds and souls.
Take care and happy hiking.

Wayne and Waynetta in the Woods. 🌲🌲
A wild camp in the woods near Howden Reservoir near Cold Side with WayneOutdoors. And it was a cold side with The Hale stone we had in the even. A lovely peaceful and tranquil camp soaking up the positive energy from the trees and soothing noises from the river.
Also an incredible full moon illuminating the sky through the woodland casting eerie shadows throughout the night.

A couple of days exploring Ooty in Tamil Nadu and checking out some of its pubs. One of India’s great hill station tourist towns. A great place to get away from the hot weather in mid summer. Such a great place with so many things to offer. Oh and great people of all different faiths living together in peace and harmony. ❤️ #india #udhagamandalam #train #hillstation #coolclimate

A failed three day two night wild camping hike due to torrential rainfall in the Lake District National Park. I felt out of my comfort zone and headed back down to Great Langdale where I’d set off earlier in the morning. I’m definitely more of a fair weather camper, so will leave the hardcore stuff for those that like that kinda thing. Trust your instincts at all times. I still enjoyed the walk...

A bus journey from Mysore to Ooty up in the Nilgiri mountains. Leaving the State of Karnataka and arriving in the State of Tamil Nadu. A much needed escape from the 37 degrees heat of Mysore. Arriving in Ooty at dusk and finding a wonderful energetic festival of light, drums and dancing. I suddenly felt alive and reenergised. I love India and it’s this that brings me back time after time. 🙏👍❤️ ...

A day in Bangalore or Bengaluru checking out some pubs or bars in this very modern city of India. Over 1,000 places to have a drink in what is known as the pub capital of India. Good camp! How about them hail stones tho 😮
Didn’t expect those hail stones Leon. Cheers matey ❄️🤪👍
We normally book train tickets online via IRCTC site or app it is it is very easy when compared to filling form physically. Or you can go to private agency who will book the tickets for you
Thanks for this information. Next time I’m in India I’ll try these other methods. Cheers 🙏👍
Well, I remember you calling me an old romantic Wayne.. not on your level though, you've put me to shame with that effort, camp by candle light! ✨🕯️ Flippin' lovely.. hope Waynetta appreciated the effort. Very nice!! 😉🤣 Looks like this camp did you good mate. We all have the odd lull now and again.. maybe the sudden changing of seasons, dark earlier, colder, I know it got me a bit. Anyway, the giant hailstone stew looked nice! 😉 Great drone shots Wayne. A great wetch. 👌✨🍻🫡✨💚
Haha I don’t think Waynetta appreciated it Mats. I always love reading your comments mate. It’s your kind of comments that keep me doing the videos. I get stuck in a rut from time to time and have to really give myself a kick up the arse to motivate myself. The camp really did me good. We should all definitely meet up somewhere sometime hey? I bet we could put something really good and entertaining together. All the best to you and Donna. Take care and see you soon. ❤️🙏👍
Ah you two make a great little double act Wayne.. glad you gave yourself a kick up the bum and did this one mate, and what a lovely location eh! The lulls are always only temporary buddy, I just ride 'em thinking, ah, I'll be reet in a couple of days, but the wilderness just works absolute wonders doesn't it. 💚 Hey, we'll definitely have to get together for something sometime Wayne, we'd love that. The two camps we did before the one on Sunday, Donna got a bit cold in the night, thought we might have nearly been done for a while, but we got new sleep mats last week and wow what an amazing difference.. we were toasty as f#@k all night!! Waheyy!! 👍😊 So we're not done yet! 😉 Hey, all the best to you too mate, look after yerself and see you soon. 👍🫡⭐✨⛺✨💚
@@FeralFrolics ❤️💚❤️💚cheers Mats 🙏👍
You look like very happy people 😊
@@Simrata_ we always have some fun and laughter. The best medicine hey. 🖖
stunnin location mate, looks like you had a right good laugh.
It’s a beautiful part of the Peak District hey Ken. Yes it was the usual lots of laughs. Cheers mate. 👍
Nutters the pair of yers, so glad you weren't tempted by the lure of the attractive, coloured fungi forest dwelling friends as combined with the bromantic setting of the candle accoutrements certainly could have caused a Brokeback tenting incident. Good one Wayne, good to see you are feeling human again. chin chin🤪
Haha the shaggy ink cap shroom was enough adventure for me Dave. Although I once made some tea from the attractive coloured fungi and had some incredible lucid dreams. That’s another story. 🤔🤣 Just the risotto and a couple of cans was enough that night. Nice relaxing camp on the whole, which helped me reconnect back to a more calm and content mind. I like feeling human whatever that means. Thanks for the comment mate. Cheers 🤪🙏👍🖖
Lol too funny…. I’m Canadian and understood every word LOL 😊
@@Simrata_ hello there and glad you found it funny. 🤪👍

Glad you enjoyed it Wayne. Can’t wait for your video now mate. See you soon. 👍
Proper chuckled at this one! Who's Wayne and who's Waynetta? Looked a proper nice camp there, made me miss home a little until I saw the hail 😂 chicken tikka & rice for brekkie is hardcore 😅 nice drone footage as well mate, enjoyed that🍻

Hello! How difficult would you say the scramble up the clough is? Like life threatening or just a bit nervy?
Hi there, it’s not too difficult. There’s bits of scrambling but fairly straightforward. It’s quite boggy near the top when you cross the river. You’ll enjoy it. Have a great time and thanks for the comment. 👍
Great video man love the beauty📈❤️
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked it. ❤🙏👍

Oot n a boot in Ooty 😁 Tell you what Wayne, when you take away all the trinkets processing and convenience of the west, they have access to better food than us thats a fact.
It is fact Steve, you’re right mate. There’s an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables everywhere you look. And so much variety as well. I really love India. The smells and the energy is all around you. It can get a bit intense after a while though. 🤔🤪🙏🫡👍🖖
This video certainly isn't making me homesick at all 😅 least you had a van to kip in and didn't have to shell out for a hotel. Typical of the sun to come out 😅 look forward to the next part
It’s been a crap summer overall Matt. You’ve certainly not missed any of that mate. Looks like you’re having a great time out there. Making lots of memories and life experiences. 🫡👍🙏🖖😎
I came to see your video, after hearing about that paratrooper fellow who got lost out there. Glad he was found, safe and well. But it made me curious about how difficult that trek is. Sometimes your path is plain and sometimes it seems to disappear! How do you know which direction to go? I did see the trail market early in your video. Is anyone responsible for the bothys? If so, couldn't some battery operated lanterns be left there? Each trekker could bring a couple of batteries, just in case they were needed. Even with a torch, it must be extremely difficult to manage in there, after dark. That was a beautiful old house. Even though the roof was gone, the walls looked as strong as they ever were. Any known history on it? The supplies to build Carnack bridge must have been airlifted in.
Hi Teresa, thanks for your comment and watching my video. I took a compass and map but didn’t need to use them. I used an app on my phone called MAPS.ME and was able to follow the trail on it quite easily. It’s fairly straightforward really. The Bothies are maintained by The Mountain Bothies Association. www.mountainbothies.org.uk You can become a member for a small fee. Some people leave batteries, gas bottles and foods etc for people who might be getting short on supplies. I don’t know any history on the houses with no roofs but there must have been a small community living here a long time ago. Hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks again. Wayne 🙏👍
Well.. it was a stunning place you went to Wayne, and Angle Tarn is a place I'd love to go! But if ya can't see a friggin' thing you might as well be camped in the park!! Yeah, being sort of stuck inside the tent for a whole camp just doesnt apoeal to me and Donna either. Such a shame to bail isn't it.. we only did it once when it dropped below zero by half 6 and we had 30 quid sleeping bags!!! Wont tell you whose idea that was! 🤣🤣 👍🍻✨⛺✨💚
Hi Mats, I was a bit disappointed and underestimated the severity of the weather. You’re right, it’s a bit pointless camping in that and might as well pitch in a park hey.🤣 It is such a stunning area in all weathers though hey. When are you and Donna out again? Thanks for the comment and support mate. 🙏👍🫡
Yeah, it is disappointing having that excitement of packing the bag and setting out Wayne, but if it's not to be, there's always a next time soon hey.. gotta trust your gut feelings mate. 👍 And yeah, me and Donna have been out a lot, done a few 2 nighters which has been an amazing step up and we camped on Tuesday at Lower Shelf Stones, which wasn't the actual plan but it was stunning! 🌄 Just lost my mojo a bit for filming at the moment.. will do the odd one because it's lead to meeting some great people like yourself mate. 👌✨⛺✨🍻🎒👍
So you never actually got to go to the pub??! How disappointing that must have been. Congratulations on a great solo journey though. Well done!
Thanks Nancy. It was a bit disappointing when I got to the pub and it was closed. There was beer for sale at the post office further along the row of buildings so that was good. Also my friend met me at the end with beer as well. 🤪🤣 Thanks again for the comment. Hope you enjoyed the video. I would like to do it again one day. 🙏👍
Great video. Informative and great scenery. What time of year did you do this hike?
ooops, I now see that you said it was the end of October. Thanks again for the video!

Bloody hell 😳 get to the pub Wayne!!! It's no fun being absolutely soaked and seeing bugger all. I'll all up for a challenge but it's good to know when to say, nah....I've had enough. 😬😫🍺🍺🍺🌧🧡
Yeah I think I did the right thing Donna. I can imagine more hardcore campers would probably think that was a walk in the park but I’m definitely a fair weather camper. It was awful. I got very excited when I got back down and saw the pub. 🤪🤣🍺🍺🍺🙌

Chuffin ell Wayne, put wood in`t ole and I don`t mean the Ginge, cracking vid mate, I think we revert back to children when we go off grid and all adult sensibilities go out the window, superb Bothy and well Set up with the candles and the lights, we used to stay in Sleddale hall (aka Crowcrag) in Shap which was a similar set up though we got a fire going, chin chin
Thanks Dave, I really appreciate the positive feedback. I sometimes question my silliness but you’ve got to have a laugh hey. Life is too short to be miserable and serious all the time. I’ll have to check out Sleddale hall near Shap. ATB, ear ear 🤪
@penninewayne1967 Na, just be yourself mate, I sometimes worry about me and the tomfoolery I come up with, but I am past caring what anybody thinks. I guess we can't all be as hilarious as The Messner.😆ps Sleddale hall is unfortunately under new ownership so is out of bounds.
That looked ferocious though on completion it would certainly make you feel alive ( because you survived ) Compared with your trek I should have been wearing a string vest. The pub lights in the distance looked welcoming, Chin chin😃
Rab C Nesbit style. Now you could be on to something there Dave 🤔🤣 I do love a pub light beckoning in the distance. Especially after a hike. It can be really wild when you get up high in the Lakes hey. Thanks for the comment. Cheek cheek 🤪
