Being new to hunting for me i want a big forest where im not going to see another person and will be a relaxed time and if you cant afford to go somewhere where there is alot of land id hold off
It was my first year hunting last year didnt have a lot of time and was broke trying to bag a deer for food but i was hunting a small patch of pressured land and didnt have much time just going out to that small lot felt like a waste i wanted to go into a forest not sit in a strip of forest and wait for a deer to pass by
Well done mate
You got a follow from me. Best wishes from UK
Thanks Matt, much appreciated
Looks super good! I'm going to try to do that with an old Walden I have. Thanks for the info and inspo
Hey mate how do u acces the map like you do. The 3D on that switches between topo and satellite. Is it a computer only thing?
You can do it on your phone. You just need to download the Google earth app then download the KMZ file from the R license portal then overlay that map onto google earth. Hope that helps.
Sensational video and congrats on the stag, I shot a similar Rusa Stag in this years rut. Same feeling, worth every year of chasing.
Thanks Wil, certainly a great feeling
Great video. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thanks for watching!
Well done mate. Truly well deserved. It's an amazing feeling dropping your first stag. A great story. Congrats 👏
Thanks mate, much appreciated

Great work mate! Which state forest was this one?
congratulation,
Great work Breno! Always good when a mate saves the day 😊
So lucky aye
Thanks for sharing your hunt.
Thanks for watching
Love your videos mate. Just getting into some hunting again because the wind keeps shutting down the fishing.
I know the feeling. I would have been fishing this weekend if wasn’t blowing 30 knots
Well done bud. Good times. Great buck, glad you found him. Great luck from Reggie finding him. 💪
Thanks Jason, yeah mate very lucky that Reggie found him.
New to this and you made it clear and simple.
How do you preserve the meat in the legs??
What spray paint did u use
Your the only guy that i have seen do a crab the right way ,
Nice one! Thanks
WTF
Thanks for sharing these tips - great video 🥇
My pleasure!
Great video, great advice….
Thank you!
It's not hard
Nice informative video there mate and your the first person I've ever come across who also wears riding chaps as gaiters, alot more comfortable on the legs. I honestly thought I was the only one rocking them 😂
Thanks mate. Yeah, chaps the best.
hey man looks great , did you have to use a special paint or clear coat, if so what kind
I just used Rust-oleum brand spray paint
@@BrenosOutdoorsany specific one tho from rust oleam
I think it was a fallow deer bark . I have shot sambar in there tho but didn’t would like a sambar honk
4C is the max temp you can allow your fridge to be if you plan to keep meat on it. Over 4C bacteria grows exponentially every degree up. I’m surprised it wasn’t spoiled after a couple of days at 10C I just finished aging a fallow deer for three weeks it smelled fresh like a rose. I was checking twice a day temperature though. I recommend you get an INKBIRD thermometer with wifi you get instant readings in your phone. Thanks for sharing your experience mate I actually watched this video a couple of months ago and did a bit of research so I was ready when the time came. Cheers
Great video mate. Do you get rabbits/hares in that forest
Yeah, did see a few rabbit in there.
Love your words champ
Thanks mate
Nice video 😊
Great tips. I've caught hundreds of blackfish and I don't scale them nor remove the guts. With a little practice you can fillet without piercing the gut cavity. Even better crab bait too.
Great Job . I just got a paddle board that I will be doing the same thing . Great video
Good luck with your board
Do you harvest the meat to eat? if pest reduction do you need to bury them ?
Hi mate I what to catch black fish but do I need a float
Yes, definitely need a float.
Great video bloke
Thanks for the video mate. Im a relatively new bowhunter but I have 12+ trips and i still have get to bag even a rabbit. While im aware of the old addage on how a day in the Aussie bush is never a waste and etc etc my continued lack of success is really starting to hurt my enjoyment of the hobby. I dont know what I am doing wrong. Ive tried stalking the gullies, staying still, moving heaps, moving a little, and I barely sight anything. I dont know if its the state forests im going to or if its me but im really starting to get desperate.
You have made things hard for yourself by using a bow but keep going. It’s a learning curve and 12+ trips is not uncommon before you start to work it out. Find the sign, keep quiet, walk slow and it will happen mate.
@@BrenosOutdoors thanks mate, I've given a lot of thought into how I approach things so I'll rethink it and try again
Nic and warm
Great vdo , You summed it up perfectly. Thanks. and happy hunting!
Funny as 😂 Made me laugh out loud a few times. Crack. Mouse Bread Sausage Sangas 😂😂😂
Glad you got a laugh out of it
And Jett’s south coast adventures
Love your videos as always Breno. Love that you snuck a sneaky hunt in before work too haha - Chris
Thanks Chris. Wish I could just hunt for a living like you.
im just wondering have you ever seen a red deer wallow in state forest and if so do u know where the dee mostly make those wallows? thanks the video is and was helpful
I have seen wallows but have never worked out a pattern to why they are there. I think they just find where the ground is wet.
have you ever tried putting trail cams in there on the last day of your trip and leaving it their for a few weeks and see if they come back or not@@BrenosOutdoors
Thanks mate this video was very helpful as a new hunter starting out!
Glad it helped
Cracking job bud. What rifle are you shooting?
Thanks James. Tikka 270
