Hi everyone! This channel is mainly about mechanical keyboard stuff (for now 😉).
I created this channel long long time ago, but I didn't try hard enough and gave up. 😢
Now that I'm back, I want to make videos again and make them better this time! 💪
Thanks everyone for watching, commenting, and, of course, subscribing! 🙏

Redefining budget keyboard | Monsgeek M1 | kko V3 Cream Yellow | Typing Test
Просмотров 7 тыс.Год назад
This is an amazing combo! The cream yellow is really smooth and the spring weight is on the lighter side which is perfect for me. The M1 is probably the cheapest aluminium board now, but still feels very solid and heavy. I hope the painting is a little bit better tho. P.S. Sorry if the sound in this video is not that good, I used the phone mic for this one. Might upload another video on this bo...

RK100 Hot-Swappable Mechanical Keyboard (Red Switch) Unboxing / Sound Test
had a hard time following! think I got it in the end. I guess the switch types should be included with the mic text! Anyway the silent lemons are so much more damped and quieter. think I'll go with those :)
Gateron oil king overrated af, mushy at those price
Factory lubing is bad. Lubed and filmed is great.
@@BigDomDaddy thats why...here those switch cost around $0.50 each, and still need lubed & filmed? There better stock switch like hmx or others
@@novansetyawan3033 hmx got QC issues. Very few switches are perfect on it's own. And personal likings still matter. Oil kings are not perfect, but a lot of people like those. Factory lubing is still not perfect. Hand lubing will always be better. And just because a switch costs more than others doesn't mean it's better or perfect in any way.
@@BigDomDaddy Well...I think pricy switches that still need to be hand lubed or filmed because the stem wobbles really sucks, but of course that's just my personal opinion, some people like scratchy Cherry switches. Many of the newer switches are almost comparable in quality to it in stock, regarding QC thankfully almost all of the hmx switches I've tried are safe and the stock almost perfect. Well of course it goes back to each preference again
@@novansetyawan3033 I get ya. I don't wanna lube my switches also. Since the factory lubing and upstroke balance of some switches are still not up there, we gotta do the extra work for making those sound better. And gateron have very bad factory lubing imo.
this and akko fairy switch almost have the same sound profile
Sound test ?
Nerd
Did you fix it? Was it case case ping or spring ping?
spring ping!
is it worth buying it?
better buy something else imo.
I can see Lion wants you to stop using the D key. Did you solve it? Opening the switch and lubing the spring?
😂 very scary lion. but yea, need a lube
Hey are the switches lavender purple cs or v3 also can you add links for the products pls
it's cs. the v3 was not released yet when I filmed this video.
is normal white switches linear because Im new to mechanical keyboards
Switches are not color coded
instead of displaying the switches being typed on you decided the text should be... the camera and the mic?
Yes and it was genius
lol I just saw this. I thought it is more important to know which audio recording device I was using since I already showed which switch is in which keyboard in first. Still, thank you for the suggestion and I'll improve next time!
akko cream yellows the best? is the pro or normal better
Normal better
if we factor in the price, I think it's the best
Does the switch have to be clear for rgb to work?
HUH? OFC NO LOL
no but clear switch can make rgb shine brighter
Its rgb ?
no
@@thetrashman5258Too late I already bought it, but it disappoints me a lot, it's inappropriate for competition because the latency is too high
It's there, but very subtle. I had to turn my volume way up to hear it.
got those ktt kang whites, you know it
Try Vertex V1. Tecsee strawberry ice linear is also amazing.
It is south facing
It appears to be, North facing make sure to use long pole switches if you're going for cherry profile keycaps
are the lemon switches tactile? like do you feel like a pre travel?
Yes and yes
does the silent lemon feel "clicky"?
If you mean the feeling then yes, it has tactility but no sound
Thanks for this video comparison, outemu lime sound nice and silent
kko
im actually building this exact same board (except for the keycaps), same switches too! the board just came in today and im waiting for the switches.
Nice! Have fun building!
@@k_to_the_b kinda excited, my first board here
@quietkid012 I’m 90% finished with my build, just the stabs have some rattling and need to do force break mods and tune the stabs, maybe holee mod/band aid mod while I’m at it, hoping to solve the rattling issue, how bout you!
Are oil kings quite? Like boba u4 quite…? And between all the switches you tried.. Which is the quietest?
Quiet*
While it's not loud, I wouldn't say the oil king is quiet, especially compared to U4. If you only count switches in this shorts, I think it's Outemu silver. But if it's all I have tried, I think it's Outemu Silent Lemon. I have a sound test video of it in my channel!
@@k_to_the_b alright thank you, I’ll check it!
No problem, thanks for watching!
How is the tactility of those switches?
Very mediocre switch in its stock form. While the bump is quite big, the short and light spring make the tactility quite low. After I swapped to longer and heavier spring, it feels so much better. It become close to the Jwick T1 in my opinion.
what keycaps are those? where did u buy it
It's the Aifei Blue and white theme. I think you can get it from AliExpress! I got it from Taobao tho.
the keycaps is cute i love it!
Thank you!
They are retiring e-white…😅
This with cream yellows and akko keycaps or pc75b v2?
In my country, it’s about $75 for Rose color, white color is even cheaper 😂
Yeah, it's really cheap. I actually bought it for around 70-80 USD, but thought it would be better to show the base price for international viewers.
you better get the white version since they're phasing out the white one
Quality issue?
i am really a beginner and dont know the keyboard terms, however my caps locks makes a ping sound, can can i fix? logitech mx mechanical
Probably the sound from the stabilizer. Maybe you can try lubing them.
did you lube the switches because I have the same exact build as you but my switches are not lubed.
I also didn't lube these switches.
Do you think this would be a good choice than the Keychron V1?
It really depends on how much you want aluminum board and gasket mount. If it doesn't matter much, then I think the V1 is already a good choice.
is it really that pingy? or is it just how you modded the keyboard
Probably the combination of not so good mic and tape mod.
@@k_to_the_b did u mod it or is it stock? because im worried the board might be really pingy
I tape modded it. I think it's just the sound quality, in real life, it doesn't ping much (or at all).
This will probably be at least $120 after shipping to be fair. Interested to see if it actually turns out to be any good
I actually bought the Chinese ver. from Taobao, so it is a bit cheaper (around $80 with shipping). 😅 But yeah, with shipping included, the international version, which started at $99, would costs around $120. And at that price, maybe it's better to save up a bit more, and buy better board.
@@k_to_the_b do you know if there's a difference between the Chinese version vs International version?
Tape for tape mod and force break mod, PCB mount stab, and QMK for international version.
@@k_to_the_b oh wow, nice
I currently use lavender purples and wanted to switch to silent lemons due to the noisy clicks of purples although I like the weight and tactility of thay switch. Is the silent lemon as light and tactile as the lavenders?
To be honest, I can't recommend the silent lemon as a silent alternative for the lavender purple since the tactility is quite low. I would recommend you to look for other silent tactile like the outemu cream, outemu toms, or maybe the new haimu silent switch.
@@k_to_the_b Thank you. Very helpful!
No problem! Thank you for watching!
Outemu cream yellow(this is silent too), and durock shrimp.
@@k_to_the_b thank you so much for sharing! haimu is crazy good man haha!
Lovely!
Thank you!
What's the deskmat ?
It's called "rune" from 3bmech but the group buy already ended a few months ago. 😅
Love the vid! Btw, can you send the link to switches
Unfortunately I bought it from my local vendor, so I don't think you would be able to buy it from them. Maybe you can try to find one in your local vendor and if you can't find it, maybe you can try searching in AliExpress!
Also thank you!
It sounds great! awsome work, it also looks fantastic.
Thank you!
So silent than my PC Fan
Thanks!
Will it stuck cherry profile keycap on north facing led hotswap?
Not sure, I will try it and let you know.
Can u post a link for the wrist wrest
Sure! I bought it from Shopee Thailand tho. 😅 shopee.co.th/product/149576309/19031807647?smtt=0.14118570-1665538609.9 Update: I also found this in AliExpress a.aliexpress.com/_mKlUJic seems ligit as there are some reviews already.
Need to try this Banana Switch
It's really good! Light and snappy. My second favorite switch!
How does outemu lemon compare to babo u4?
It's very different. Outemu Silent Lemon feels like brown to me, so more pre travel and much smaller bump compared to U4.
it sounded kinda squishy and scratchy, is it bcos of the keyboard?
I think it's mainly because it's so quiet, so you can only hear the scratch and the dampener 😅
All switches that uses silicone or rubber dampeners will feel swishy. And since these are tactiles, you will hear/feel the tactile event as scratchy. It's just how silent tactiles are. The linear version of these (outemu silent peach) are more quiet and feel smoother. You could try Haimu or Skyloong glaciers for silents that doesn't use silicone dampeners to get rid of the mushy feels
@@mibcd I already bought the lime lol, its still on its way. is there any way to reduce the squishy feeling? im planning to lube before installing to my keyboard. though its my first time modding so any suggestions are much appreciated. Hi from Indonesia wkwk land
I mean you can cut off the dampener, but not only is it time-consuming, it will also remove the 'silent' part of the switch. 😅
@@k_to_the_b yup its so quiet, no clicks or clacks, just dabs hahaha, haven't lube them yet. Oh yeah, I didn't realize the the top housing is not the clear type, so the rgb from the case is so muffled. Im planning to change the top housing with some good ol' blue switch i have laying around. I hope they will fit.
Hey, I was thinking about getting new silent outemu switches for my build. At first I was going for Outemu lime's, but the switches apparently have small tactility feel. You suggested for outemu cream yellows or toms, have you tried them before, and if you have how would you describe the tactility compared to other tactiles such as akko lavenders. Sorry for bothering and thanks.
Sadly, I never tried the cream yellow nor the tom. I heard good things about them tho. I suggest watching this video for more details on these switches. ruclips.net/video/VKU1m0IFCV8/видео.html
cream yellows have more tac then akkos, and are super silent.
There is nothing to dampen the ping, use a car mat dampener or silicone pour mod
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@k_to_the_b no prob, always happy to help!
can you show how you modded the keyboard step-by-step? tried the coin mod but my spacebar sounds terrible.
Have you done any other mod too? I think the spacebar is the result of all the mod combined.
@@k_to_the_b just taped coins at the bottom of case and tape modded the pcb but the spacebar sounds like coins clacking and its worse than ratlle.
@@kevinclarkmonterde9477 seems like your coins are moving around. Maybe you can try other mod like foam mod or polyfill mod to fill in the hollowness instead.
Thanks for posting. How do the Silent Lemon's feel? I like a tactile key and was looking at these or the Kailh Speed Copper's.
Thank you for watching! For me, the silent lemon feels like gateron brown with its pre travel and small bump. If you want bigger bump silent tactile, I would suggest looking at the Outemu TOM or cream yellow instead.
Sounds like glass beads falling on an acrylic plate, I like it!!
Now that you mentioned it, yea it kinda sounds like that lol. Thank you Ray!
