7m · My name is E.C in early 2003 While driving across the Warren Bridge I came to a stop at the red light but SOG/BPD Sgt. Larry Hill at the time I didn't know he was a detective he was driving a red/brown 4 door Ford Explore he was too busying paying attention to me and not the red light he barreled in between through car’s damaging their side mirrors and ran the red light and pulled into a parking lot. When the light turned green, I drove to him to ask if he was alright, he replied yeah so, I drove off. I went to a friend's house to hung out for a bit then left crossed the Manette Bridge and an officer turned his lights on me, so I pulled into a parking lot on 6th street he approached me, and I asked why I was being pulled over he said for speeding, but he also said he didn’t see it and he got a call from a detective to pull me over. Then he said a detective wanted to talk to me I’m like why this is supposedly a traffic stop. Then a detective approached he looked scruffy had a long beard and mustache wearing a red hat he had red glossy eyes honestly, he looked high. He introduced himself as detective Aaron Elton with special operations group I asked him why have I been pulled over and no joke he said it was because “You fit the description of a male Hispanic driving a red Lincoln “I’m like no s!!t you are racially profiling me, and this is a pretextual pullover then he demanded to search my car. I said NO then he said wait here till we get a drug dog then an officer arrives Bill Endicott and his black drug dog he did a search of my vehicle scratching my car up and found nothing. Then the detectives huddled up to discuss what they were going to do next since they had no probable cause. I had enough I rolled up my windows and locked the doors and said you either have to place me under arrest or let me go then Sgt. Larry Hill replied or we can damage your car if you don’t give us the keys to it. I was in disbelief and scared they were armed and threatening me for my car, so Sgt Larry Hill ordered SOG/BPD to take the keys I from my hand to Aaron Elton of SOG took them he got into my car without my consent and drove off with it and the rest of them all drove off. They left me there to walk home and I’m thinking I cannot believe what just happened I got car jacked by the Police, so I walked home explained to my family what just happened. Mean time my friends are telling me they are seeing my car being driven around it’s not hard to spot it's a very small-town Bremerton and I'm the only one with that kind of car that sticks out it’s the only kind. One of my witnesses spoke to one of the drivers of my car it was Randy Plumber, he told him that's Edwin's car! I had enough and got a video camcorder they had my car stored inside a light green makeshift fire station near west hills I went there often with my video camcorder my car was moved inside and outside a dozen times. 3 months later I’m making monthly payments on a car they are driving then almost 3 1/2 months later after they stole my car, I was driving to pick my mother up from work in Port Orchard the fire station we were driving back then I noticed the same red/brown Ford with Sgt. Larry Hill following us I told my mother don’t get nervous but I think we are going to get pulled over she has panic attacks and sure enough on Callow in Bremerton he hit his lights with other officers I pulled over and they drew their guns at me and my mother Sgt. Larry Hill threatened my mother they were going to take her house my mother started having a panic attack. I was placed under arrest but bailed out and retained a lawyer I even went to the BPD office spoke with Chief Tim Wolfe told him what happened, and he just laughed at me. Finally, the day came to report to court in Dec.10,2003 (Case # 03-1-01289-9 Dec.10,2003 Kitsap District Court no listed room number State of Washington vs E.C. Jr. Lieutenant Aaron Elton) one of those days and the first person I wanted on the stand was Aaron Elton who was on the stand was Aaron Elton my lawyer started asking him questions and the Judge heard enough he caught Aaron Elton and I told my lawyer that because he's going to dig his own grave by lying on the stand and the Judge will pick up on it and it worked the Judge picked up on his lies and laughed and said you got in this man’s car and drove off with it yeah, I don’t like this, this case I'm dismissing it and the lawyer asked for my car they had for 5-6 months while I was making monthly payments and my belongings to be returned to me and the judge ordered it be done. Then I get a letter from the BPD saying I never claimed ownership of the vehicle and they were going to auction it off to hide the evidence that they were driving it around because I had my car serviced the same day with the odometer reading new low pre tires and new 24-inch chrome rims and they were using it as an undercover car/ drug sting car. I contacted my lawyer, and he spoke with a representative of the Judge of what their intentions were. Finally, one month later from April 2023 to Jan of 2024 months later I got a call at night to come pick my things up from the Bremerton Police Department when I got there my car was already running, I got my car & money back. Then I returned home and waited till morning to see what they did to it, and I brought out my receipt with the odometer reading the mileage did not match it was WAY higher my new low pro tires were to the wires and my new 24-inch chrome rims had been curb checked I was so upset. So, I took it to civil court in Silverdale I had the City of Bremerton, and the officers involved served meet with the judge for about 3-5 months explaining the original Judge ordered and why it was dismissed what they did was illegal, and that Aaron Elton got into my car and drove off I took pictures of the damage and showed them the receipt and the current mileage. I also had witnesses and video recordings of it being driven around then finally I was going to have my day in small claims court in Silverdale but at the very last minute they switched Judges out and the new Judge told me he knew these officers and I’m thinking I’m never going to get a fair shake for being Hispanic a week later I received a letter from the Judge stating the officers did nothing wrong and I wasn’t surprised I just wanted my car fixed and to pay for damages to it they kept all my evidence everything I gave them but witnesses and what cracks me up is this racist hypocrite Aaron Elton posted a video about car safety on RUclips PSA: Bremerton Police Dept. I was onboard USS Long Beach (CGN-9) and we in the PSNSY back in 1985. It was very nice being in Bremerton back then. I went back to our homeport of San Diego and never went back until this past weekend. I was throughly amazed at how much the city changed. I currently live in a very small town in Northern California, very close to the Oregon border. I moved here from San Jose and work for the County I live in. I have been planning to move to Cebu, Philippines in a few months. I will live on my VA pension and social security when I am there. However IF I were to stay here I would definitely consider Bremerton or Everett. I am also retaking Cloud Computing and Python classes. So if I were to move there I would have to have a job first and foremost.

Unfortunately, social media exposure has caused absolute congestion at Big Beef, and has taken away from the peacefulness of the small area. It’s not designed to accommodate large amounts of people. It’s a small strand of road that crosses over Big Beef creek. Beautiful views, yes. And there is a small area to pull over and take in the views. But When it’s crowded, it actually becomes dangerous for people on the road. If you want to relax and watch eagles and stay a while, it’s best to grab some snacks and a coffee from the Seabeck Marina and head to either Guillemot Cove or Scenic Beach State Park.

I actually worked at cosmos for a short while right after i turned 18. Worked at carters and (at the time) its sister company the bay street bistro for years. crazy to see both of them on the list. RIP the original Bay Street Bistro. Glad to see Carters is still around!

I live up in Port Angeles, and, yeah, the weather and cloud patterns are so amazing! I have never seen a rainfall even close to a New Mexico monsoon rain dump. It's always light rain here, even when people say it's heavy. Usually, as you said, it's just drizzle, and it smells soooo good! Some forest walks you can smell mushrooms in the air. I am getting a fine collection of photos of weird clouds.

6 no real nightlife to speak of unless you are a rocker. There's actually a great rock club here that is bigger than bremerton itself, the Charlston on Callow. The mention of school zone speed traps is on-point...a guy like me can look forward to 1-2 tickets a year for driving 35 mph! It's brutal!

Key point snow. People will take there 100g trucks just to fishtail all over the place. When it snows here just stay off the road because people do not know how to drive. It’s really scary

I moved to Bremerton, Washington in March, 1989. Before that we had lived primarily in California. My dad was in the Navy and got orders to this little placed called Naval Hospital Bremerton. But from March 1989 until November 2011, Bremerton would be my home. I also joined the Navy and was fortunate to be stationed in Bremerton for nearly half my career. Naval Hospital Bremerton has changed so much over the years and so has Bremerton. I recently visited back in May 2023 and it still felt like home. The surrounding areas and cities (Silverdale, Port Orchard, Poulsbo), attractions, and shops have also changed since 1989. But the weather, wetness, cold, freezing blistering rain, fresh air, summers unlike no other, and feel are still the same. Bremerton will always be a huge Navy town and the state of Washington will always be military friendly (Navy, Army, Air Force bases all over the place). I live in Southern California now and I consider Socal my new home...but Bremerton will always be in my heart and I wouldn't mind visiting every few years. Great post, btw.
