2023 Frontier Pro-X Vs 2023 Frontier SV
There were so many differences between my truck and my wife's truck that I decided to make a video for it. I have the red SV, and she has the boulder grey PRO-X . If you want to skip me yapping about it, go to the 7:38 minute mark to see the differences side by side. I tried to cover every thing that was different but may have left out a few things here and there to cover the main ones. I've been receiving some great feedback from yall including the truck you have and why you bought it which I always love to hear :) Let me know what more you would like to see in the comments below. 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro X Likes & Dislikes Review, Is The 2025 Frontier Pro X Better?

As mentioned in the video, this video is in response to a comment made on a previous video asking me to describe what I like and disliked about the truck. I tried to keep it short while also providing some detail over my responses. Again this is my opinion on the truck and what I like or dislike might differ from what you might like or dislike. I forgot to add in the video that we use this truc...

That's a great idea!! I would take that Coca-Cola home on any day!😂❤
❤
Awe❤💋💋
That looks like a cat marking territory to me…you sure you don’t have a mouse around?
No mouse, just a cat that loves to get into trouble lol
Um, isn't that a peeing cat?!
That tail wag also means they are so freaking happy they tail twitch. A few of my cats do this, they purr so loud and, do high steps at the same time.❤😹
I didn't know that! I've always wondered why they do that, its so cute though😻
They're happy. 😊
Looks like he's spraying your counter!? 😮
Right!😂
I would stay away from K&N air filters. Pre-oil air filters can damage your mass airflow sensor.
I will definitely keep that in mind, thank you for the suggestion!
❤❤❤
Great job but if you're keeping the vehicle, I'd recommend switching to Amsoil and Nissan or K&N oil filters! I have over 235k miles on my '06 4.0 Pathfinder. Have only ran Amsoil. Royal purple early on for one oil change and Mobile one. But that was before I hit 80k miles. I did put K&N full synthetic in it recently, and I could tell a huge difference. I'm gonna switch back to Amsoil soon. I change it ever 5k miles. 🔧👌🏼
I'll keep that in mind and look for those filters next time! I definitely want to keep the truck for as long as possible. I've used K&N before but I've been trying to save every penny in this economy😅. 235k on your 06' Pathfinder is awesome! I hope to have mine that long. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Great video. I got the 24 Pro 4X and love it.
Thank you! I'm in love with this truck also!
10k oil changes oh lordy
Yeah not the best idea, definitely gonna change it out around 5000 next time.
Awwe ❤
She's my baby!🥰
Thanks for the awesome video, good to see someone reviewing and comparing the 4x2 Frontier, all the other videos are for the 4x4. I purchased a 24 Frontier SV club cab 4x2 with the tow package, bed liner and side step. I did not purchase the technology or convenience package so I ended up with a basic truck out the door for $32,000. For some reason Nissan excludes the tow button on the lower trims, for $25.00 I added one to complete the tow package. My truck didn't include the fog lights which (i think) are part of the convenience package, so I purchased the Nissan oem fog light kit for $249.00 and installed them, my truck keeps getting better with little upgrades. Now I'm thinking about adding the tow hooks just in case I get stuck somewhere even though I don't go offroad or off the main road but you never know!
Thank you for the kind comment. I hadn't seen any reviews on the 4x2 either so I was hoping this would be beneficial for those that aren't looking at getting at 4x4. You got some really good upgrades for a nice price! It's always nice doing little upgrades here and there that make a big difference overall. I'm looking at adding side steps to my SV, it's not too expensive and completely changes the look. I hope you keep enjoying your truck as much as we are!
Check out the video I made on my Pro 4X to see some upgrades I've done so far😁
Just watched it & I am blown away with how cool everything looks! I had seen some carbon overlays for the interior except I didn't know if they looked good. However, now that I have seen them on yours, I think I'll get them. Your truck looks amazing! I hope it has been giving you as much job as it has for us! Always get excited when I see one on the road.
I got the SV too but in midnight - so it came with the tech premium and tow package. LED fog lights too
I loved the midnight version! If they had one available when I got mine, I would have gotten one. I hope your truck is treating you well😁
Great vid husband and I have truck up ready to change today!
I hope it went smoothly! There is a link in my description for the video I used to reference, just in case there is anything that yall encounter that I missed in my video.
Intelligente 😂

Glad you found it helpful!
Damn these trucks look sick! I want a Pro-X so bad ! Thanks for the info :)
My absolute favorite truck! I hope you can get one :)
I'm so glad I got the SV. The main thing that made me choose it was the spray in bed liner. The Fender sound system was just a bonus. I didn't even realize it until I had bought it. Nice comparison.
Right! There were so many features I didn't realize I had until later on but so happy with all of them. Bed liner and speakers are my favorite🙏🏻
@DoriiMariie 1st accessory I'm adding is tonneau cover. I've been researching for a couple of days, so if you have any suggestions, please share. Thank you!
Not too familiar with tonneau covers for this truck but I hope you get a nice one!
Thanks for the video. Love different opinions on the truck.
Thank you!
What up sexy!
Nice comparison..sure glad I got the Pro 4X , there wasn't anything else I could add to it as mine is fully loaded. Only thing I didn't get was the rear bumper step and now they are in national backorder and don't know when they'll be back in stock. Too bad there isn't a aftermarket company making em. Keep up the videos on the Frontier, really enjoy them. I tried to do one and being a "Noob", it didn't turn out too good. 😅
Everyone is a noob when they first start something! Just keep trying and eventually you'll build up this skill :) I definitely felt that way a few years ago when I started making videos. Not to mention how weird it feels talking to a little square box haha. I appreciate your support!😁
Ooooo hell yeah!! Very good explanation of the video love the detail you go into! 👍🏽👍🏽🍻
JOHNNN!!! Thank you🥹 I honestly cut a lot out because I thought it was tooo much detail, probably should have left it in but I think I got the main points across :)
I heard the cat talking shit bout yo momma
this made me laugh out loud, thank you😂
Doesn’t the frontier use the mobil1 M1-108A oil filter?
Yesssss
That's a great question! When I looked it up online, and in the book at autozone, I saw both said to use the M1-110A. When I took the factory one off the truck, they were the same size but different brands. However, I was curios to see if what you were saying was true and when I googled it, they can both be used. The only difference between the two are that the M1-110A is slightly longer than the M1-108A and therefor has a larger surface area for the oil to filter. I hope this answers any questions you had! :)
They can both be used actually! The M1-110A is just slightly longer and can allow for a larger surface area for oil. They both have the same thread size and are compatible with the truck, however I have seen that people with the older model (2000-2019) use the M1-108A instead.
Again great info !!
Thanks again!😁
Awesome video and directions , do you like your truck so far ,what are likes and and dislikes ?
Thank you! I do love it and actually just posted a new video talking about some of my main likes and dislikes over the truck. Main likes include the headlights, body style, how smooth it drives, and the small details within the cabin. The only real dislike is how stiff the steering wheel is but I have gotten used to it and it has loosed up a bit. It has to do with the rack and pinion steering system which I have been told is better over time so it is actually a good thing. Check out the video on my page for more! I'm uploading a new one soon going over the differences between this model (PRO-X) and the SV. Thanks for the comment and engagement :)
No thanks 😂😂😂

Great video, thanks for doing it.
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Bought the 2024 Pro 4X in early August, decided on this one over the 2025. The minimal updates to the 2025 like the telescoping steering wheel and bigger display weren't important to me, as the 9" display on the 2024 was plenty enough. Don't really like the all plastic grill and the non-functional air dams, but some like the nostalgic look from the old ones. I have the Super Black color and it's tough to keep clean, but when it's clean, it looks awesome. I also put the same stickers in the grill and tailgate, got mine on eBay, and the orange outline is reflective and really makes it stand out over the plain stamped letters. Also, put in the raptor lights I got from Z1 Offroad. Hope you are enjoying your truck as much as I am mine, they ride extremely smooth and quiet. Wish there was a way to upgrade the camera's though.
How are you liking the Pro X so far? You definitely saved some money by going with the 2024 over the 2025. I was surprised they even made changes to the model considering before this one they hadn't changed the look of the frontier in over 15 years. I'm going to look into getting those stickers for mine next, didn't even know they had reflective ones but I think it would be really beneficial during the night time and just look cooler. I agree the camera quality could be better. I was thinking of adding a dash cam to mine, I've almost been hit and ran off the road several times here in Austin. Thank you for the comment and sweet reply! I hope you continue making lasting memories with your truck :) they really are the best in the market right now
@@DoriiMariie I have the Pro 4X and not the Pro X, but yeah, I am loving it so far. The 2025 model they just made a few cosmetic changes like the front grill, the bigger infotainment screen from 9" to 12.3", which I like the 9" better, and the availability of a 6' bed across the trims. Those minor options wasn't a deciding factor for me, and I like the looks of the 2024 over the 2025. I've added my own cosmetic changes like, Raptor lights, illuminated kick plates, carbon fiber trim on the inside, Weathertech hood protector, AVS in channel vent shades, ceramic tinted windows, Muslogy bed liner over the spray in liner to save on things getting scuffed up, Lomax tonneau cover, and a few other things to make it mine. This truck is definitely a keeper and hopefully will last me a long time. When I bought mine in early August, it was listed for just shy of $51k fully loaded , with the Nissan cash back and dealer discounts, I managed to get it down to $45k out the door and got the free oil changes for 3 years, and the NanoCure treatment on the inside and out that is warrantied for 7 years. Couldn't even touch the Tacoma TRD Pro for under $60k or any other midsized truck with comparable features, and I didn't want a 4 cylinder turbo either.
My apologies, I definitely meant to put PRO4X not PROX, but I am actually jealous of the few extra features your PRO4X has, I would love the charging pad where you can just set your phone down instead of having to plug it in. I have a buddy who is looking at the 2025 frontier and I told him some similar comments to what you've mentioned. They are all purely cosmetic so if someone wants to save some money and get a discount at a dealership by getting a 2024 version then it would be the best time to do it! The upgrades you've added to yours sound awesome! Looking at the grille lights as well, and probably some ditch lights and light bar eventually. Have a level kit now just haven't had time to install it. That's a nice discount you were able to get on your version and is the exact reasons we went with the frontier over Tacomas. Toyotas are very overpriced right now, especially with only offering a 4 cylinder turbo where the turbo will cause problems in the future. I'm starting to see more people make the switch to frontiers which has me happy since I love seeing them out on the road. Again, congrats on your truck, it sounds awesome 😁
Hydraulic steering is more dependable & easier & cheaper to maintain than electric steering that they started using a decade or so ago
That's interesting! It makes sense though since larger commercial vehicles use it, as well as older volkswagen buses and I rarely hear anything about the steering having to be replaced on those. Definitely gotten more used to the steering on it and have come to love it.
Nismo has great shock upgrades that make the already great ride quality much better believe it or not
Ill look into it! Thank you for the tip🙏🏻
@@DoriiMariie Z1 Off Road For all your Nissan aftermarket.
Been buying from them for years, love their quality and assortment of parts.
Im not a 4x4 guy. I'm not interested in off-road. Why waste 4k on 4x4 i own a 2024 Pro X with leveling kit looks way better than factory look.
Same here! Going off roading just adds more problems for the future and unneeded stress on all the ball joints, rocker arms, etc. We have a leveling kit just haven't put it on yet, but we have seen them and the do look much better than factory! Congrats on the 2024 Pro X! :)
Love your PRO X 4x2,
Thank you! :) We love it too!
I'm sticking with Toyota
No worries! We all have our own preferences. I would recommend looking into the new issues they are having with the transmissions on their new models. One guy reported he only had 347 miles on it before the transmission went out, leaving him stranded. Other than that Toyota has always been reliable and you should buy whatever your heart desires! :)
@@DoriiMariie Well my Toyota has 306,000 miles yet and the transmission hasn't gone out yet lol.
well then it clearly isn't the new one that I mentioned😆 but that is awesome that it has 306,000 miles on it! Like I said before Toyota's are very reliable if you want to pay the Toyota tax👍🏼
@@DoriiMariie I like the new ones though. I really like the Pre runner. I'm sure the wrinkles will be straightened later on. It's Toyota after all.
4x4 or nothin. pro4x is where it's at.
Totally agree! If we lived anywere besides texas we would have gotten the Pro4x. We had jeeps before that were 4x4 and only time we used it were at the beach and when we had the rare snow storm two years in a row. Other than that we found no need for paying for the extra maintenance upkeep and the less MPG. I hope you enjoy your pro4x though :)
Nice truck!
Thank you! We've loved every minute of it :)
Well we know she has a Wife.....congrats
Thanks karen! your name says it all for me... congrats :)
For the life of me I can’t understand why anyone would buy a Pro X over the Pro4X?
Not all of us need 4WD. I'd love to own the ProX, currently driving a 24 crew cab SV rwd because it was a lot cheaper.
@@nikonmark37814 Sure, but you never know when you'd be in a situation when you may need 4WD (its why all my trucks have always had it). Especially with the prices on the ProX and Pro4X being so close together. Just makes no sense to me.
I can name a few reasons for why we didn't. 1- we live in texas and have no need for it other than the occasional trip to the beach, which is 4 hours away and only a few beaches allow you to drive on the sand. 2- we didn't want to deal with the extra maintenance upkeep (changing out 4x4 fluid change which is your transmission, transfer case and differential fluid) as well as having less mpg due to the 4 wheel drive 3- the prox model has a higher towing capacity compared to the pro4x, and if you tow anything you know that you want to get every little pound out of your vehicle that you can. We have a 20ft travel trailer that weighs around 4000lbs and don't want to put stress on the transmission if we can have a higher tow capacity. hopefully you learned some new reasons why not everyone gets a Pro4x but hey, to each their own :)
@@DoriiMariie Everything you just mentioned is the same story with the SV trim with an appearance package (or light package if you want better headlights) and you’d save yourself 4-5k. Like I said the ProX trim makes no sense lol.
@@DoriiMariieI bought the pro-x also and don't need 4x4 .. also pro-x gets better mpgs also
I got me a prox about 3 months ago. One of the main reasons was the led headlights vs the sv model. Been a good vehicle so far and I'm happy with the purchase. Thanks for the oil change video I appreciate it.
Absolutely! I have the SV model and I can't wait to change the lights out. Overall though they are fantastic trucks! Super reliable and even hard of them lasting over 500k miles with proper maintenance. Congrats on your ProX :)
10k oil changes, you are brave. I would never... 3500-4k for me. Check out Z-1 OFFROAD for Nissan goods. You should install the steel oil pan skid plate, it is the OEM and not very big, comes with the 4 bolts, bolts up.. 23.00 at Z-1. piece of mind not leaving the oil pan vulnerable. Yes I have a 2023 PRO4X.. I love it.
I know trust me I will never go that long before changing it again. I've bought a level kit from Z-1 off road before so ill be sure to go check out their steel oil pan skid plate, thats a great idea and thank you for sharing it :) Congrats on the Pro4x! I'm jealous of some of the extra upgrades you have on yours that are missing on the prox, but good choice going with the frontier over other small trucks on the market!
This cat likes paper bags instead of boxes😂😂
Oh she likes boxes too, just need to get a clip of her in them😆 pretty much her motto like the rest of cats is "if i fits, i sits"
Congrats on the video, doing the oil change on my frontier this week. I appreciate the video, unlike most people who just complain yet watch the video .
I appreciate your reply and comment so much! I am clearly not a professional and some people tend to not take that into account before commenting, I honestly don't even reply to the ones that talk about the littlest of things that I did not cover. I swear some people might add that to mention you need to breathe while replacing the oil lmao. Again I appreciate your comment and I hope your oil change goes smoothly!
For what it’s worth I have changed the oil in many different vehicles and pieces of equipment and I never fill the oil filter with oil before installing and have never had an engine problem. In short it’s not necessary.
I appreciate your comment! I've had a few different vehicles and have never had to prefill the oil filter as well, but when I looked up another video on how to do it for this one they had recommended it so I just went ahead and did it. I probably will skip it in the future as it is a pain to prefill and manage not to spill it onto myself in the reattaching process. Thanks again for the watch and comment! :)
@@DoriiMariie yeah, and jn vehicles with the cartridge style filters it’s not even possible to fill it.
Whoops, my mistake. It is 5.3 quarts. I was looking at the Euro (imperial) quarts 4.3 . You are 100% correct and my earlier post was wrong.
Thank you for the watch and comment! it can be confusing going from imperial to american quarts. Always hate how america has to be different when it comes to measurements!
According to Nissan, it takes 4.3 quarts, you added 😊5.3 qts.
You’re wrong, it takes 5.3 quarts. Stop misinforming
@@thewiseguy7100 if you read the post ass wipe, I corrected that statement. It’s 4.3 imperial quarts. 5.3 American quarts . Get a life🤦🏻♂️
