Absolutely fabulous. A proper tribute to Bobby Pratt, Bert Ezard and the Heath band. Certainly proves why Mike Lovatt is the UK’s leading lead trumpet.

When arrangement, performance and soloist all come together. Christ. The thing which knocks me out is he makes it look so damned ..... easy ..,. especially in the upper register he still maintains the same calm appearance as if he's playing an octave lower ( unlike say, Maynard). Spike played just enough trumpet to appreciate what he'd just heard.

It is very hard to hear enough of Derek Watkin's playing. He earned and owned his spot on the trumpet podium. What. a .player.

I miei complimenti. c.castellano, italia An "International Star" immediately recognizes it, from the interpretation of the proposed song, from the first fanciful and creative notes that a Great Artist manages to convey to her listeners, arousing that universal natural feeling of the soul called "emotion". You do not need other adjectives to better qualify and adject a Great Artist. My compliments. c.castellano, Italy

Would LOVE to have this arrangement. One of the only songs I've heard that matches how I think a big band should sound and how I think the trumpet solo should sound with it. Anyone know where I can buy the arrangement?

Look at Alan Downey (middle trumpet and arranger @ 2:52. He kind of glances over to Derek as if to say "You nailed it Man" Great because of course Alan arranged the piece but knew only Derek could play it. Beautiful.
