Your car looks amazingly clean underneath and doesn’t deserve a rotten subframe. clearly this is a component failure, moreover, it appears to have rusted from the inside. I hope a failure like this doesn’t appear under breaking at speed it could prove fatal. would you put your kids in a faulty manufactured car knowingly it to be dangerous and the manufacturer knows about this fault and try to keep the issue quiet?
Yeah, my car was stuttering too give it gas to go fast opposite of the drop real real slow so you know he said the throttle box. I put a brand new one in 600 and some dollars and it was doing the same thing so like I said amount of Mechanic it’s gotta be further down the line, we’ll see you. I hope it worked out for you. I just seen your video now.
I’m going to a problem with my 2015 Jetta somebody told me it could be the throttle box so I went out and bought the throttle box. It’s not the throttle box oxygen sensor switch. I just learned that now I’m on Mechanic just like that now, I think that’s what you were changing out. The oxygen switches give me a come wrong. It’s still sitting in my driveway sitting for like six months, I gotta get it to the dealership and let them take a look at it. My mechanic looked at it but he has a computer like you have it so I can go so far with this computer this week told me dealership diagnostic on it but he says it could be the throttle boxes.
Mercedes Benz of Virginia Beach did one of ours for free. It was a 2009.
im a dealership tech replacing one under warranty tomorrow. 2012 are good till 2031 i believe. next time you can disconnect shocks from lower arm. save the hassle of interior work. oh nvm youre replacing them 🤦
You mentioned your insurance paid for it, how did you get that to workout?
Mercedes never did learn after their rust problems in the early 2000s. Covering everything in plastic just hides the problem. Mercedes are trash at 10 years but people still buy them. 😂
Mercedes Belgium did mine 2 years ago. It also fixed the chronic pull to the right. Mine is an e-class wagon, 2012, also Polar White.
Mercedes is replacing mine for free
Did they say anything about the arms will be replaced or u can get it done your self
Mercedes extended the warranty on for 20 years droping mine today will see how long it takes them 😀
Bro why do you not re new the wishbone recording it always rusts
w218 cls를 타고있는데 동일한 부식이 있다. 한국도 네 차종은 무상수리해준다. 그러나 동일한 증상인 내차종은 아직 책임지지않고 있다
Mercedes sent me a letter last year, will replace free here in USA. A friends 2013 E350 went last year, my 2014 C300 went with only 42000 miles... so need to call dealer to make appointment. Car is derivable now but need to be careful.
What did you have to pay for that truck? It’s sweet. I have an ‘83.
I picked it up for 4k and the guy was nice enough to deliver it. I’m getting ready to post an update. It’s definitely come a long way. Since I posted this video
Great info good tips to save time with wires and h brake ta
This part is under WARRANTY FROM THE DEALERSHIP CALL AND SCHEDULE A INSPECTION THEY WILL SEND OUT PICTURES TO MERCEDES HEADQUARTERS AND REPLACE THE PART FOR FREE 🫡 but be weary because your rear control arm bolts maybe frozen so they may charge ya to replace those
A torch they should be able to get them out but thanks on the heads up just took mine in
Mercedes WILL replace this for free. I did a video about it. There is a 20 year unlimited mile warranty. You can get reimbursed for this repair.
MB USA extended the warranty of various models subframe to 20 years. Read here static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10232321-0001.pdf You can also claim reimbursement. Good luck
it’s your maf sensor 100% just had the same thing happen to me
How did you fix the problem? I'm starting to get into my 03 Jetta and took the car to Auto zone and the code reader spit out a bad O2 sensor . So if I can avoid jumping through firey loops it would save me a bunch of time and money.
Mercedes is doing extended warranty on the subframe! I have a 2014 just dropped off at the MB dealer, getting the subframe replaced on warranty!
Check EGR pressure / clean it
my 2001 jetta has to pass some stupid emissions that i never had to do in florida, now in texas. So the o2 censor blew out a decade ago and i didnt care, just runs a little rich. Now the mechanic out here tells me there are NO real o2 censors after market, they dont fit and are fake. OEM VW only and very hard to find, very rare and the whole thing would cost more than my car to fix. hes trying to tell me to drive a perfectly good car to the junk yard. Where do you get your parts and do you think i could swing this myself?
I got it from FCP Euro. Great quality parts and good prices. It’s a legit Bosch part which is what they would have used at VW. The whole job took maybe 30-45 min to do. The hardest part may be getting the old O2 out. Definitely something anyone could handle
thank you brother@@savagebuilds
i see they have a few different ones on there, i put my kind of car in the preferences- does it matter which one i get? how i can i tell if its the right kind? @@savagebuilds
o reillys auto parts
This might not help in this instance but I got a letter from Mercedes last month saying that the rear subframe got recalled so maybe this might help someone. Give the dealer a call, it can’t hurt to check if they’ll fix it for free!
Looks like an old Chevy Monza wheel
Dr rocker looked factory to me
Not a chevy 1500 wheel. Looks like an s10 or camaro
I didn’t think about it being out of another gm vehicle. It didn’t match any other wheel out these trucks. I ended up going with a new wheel. I’ll update in the next video.
Hi! I have the same issue, did you found the problem?
Yeah, the O2 sensor ended up fixing the issue. I took it back out, it hesitated once and then cleared up. Haven’t had any issues since “fingers crossed”. The only thing I can think of is it took a sec for the computer to go through the relearn after clearing codes.
I’m in the US and I just had mine replaced at a dealer for free last month
Mercedes Benz USA is starting to fix these for free. They extended the factory warranty from 4 years 100,000 miles to 20 years unlimited miles. I’m taking mine in May 16, 2023 to have it looked at for free by Mercedes. If it needs replaced they are doing it for free.
I have a 2014 c300 sport would the part in the link fit mine ??
Take it to MB dealer. I dropped my c300 2014 getting the work done on extended warranty
Quick question.... I had that replaced now and they said to me something like " we need to setup the airbags " do airbags have any kind of connection with this? I got the 2010 W204
Wonderful video 👍🏻
Good news for US customers as of 03/13/2023 they extended the warranty on the sub-frame 20 years and unlimited mileage.
Hey I have mine through a lease and mine broke would they fix mine for free?
@@natielromero8145did u find out?
La chance, ceci viens de m'arriver et en france il veule pas , on va faire un recours collectif
I would CNN have the new CNN part reinforced welded at a machine shop then powder coated, issue fixed.
Looks like its time to get my cash up.
As a result of a class action suit, these subframes now have an extended rust-through warranty from Mercedes in the United States.
Where would i find more info on this?
I got mine, but I’m curious how bad it has to be
@@Fractal_blipcall MB dealer have the vin # ready. They will tell you if your car is on the list for extended warranty on the subframe!
W212👎 W211👍
These are still available from Mercedes. I had a 204 part # on my old one (which I'll add later after checking), but there's also 207 350 97 02 which supersedes part # 212 350 38 05. This is what I used on my 207 chassis. I got one with the older 212 part # for $1,200 close to a yr ago. W204's, W212's, C207's, facelift R171's and I believe early R172's all used these subframes. The Best, or...something. Thanks for making the vid
Thanks for the info
I got it done by MB dealer for free in Holland. It was 10 days before 10 years. And they said they will replace it " best or nothing"
Nice job. This will guide me to change mine. Greatings from Morocco.
Wa hbib the dealership extended the warranty on the subframe for 20 years or save receipts they might pay back
That 3 ton jack looks like the one i got from harbour freight few months ago😀..its a good 3 ton
Your garage is super impressive. Bravo for a job well done. Greetings from Reading. 🇬🇧
Thank you
The rear subframe on my W204 (2009 C200 Sport CDI Saloon) has failed in the same place. The other side is also corroded. Fortunately, I'm in the UK so I've already booked mine in at a local dealer and subject to approval from the UK HQ it will get replaced free of charge. The cost would be in the region of £3-4K most of which is the labour. I will be documenting this on my own channel. You've done the right thing spraying all the Fluid Film in every nook & cranny of the new subframe.
That’s great, I hope they start recognizing the issue here. It’s obviously a design or poor material flaw. I just had the car in the air last week, and the rear subframe looks flawless, not a chip out spot of rust anywhere ( 3 months off winter driving and about 3500 miles)
My subframe is going to get replaced under warranty. Unforunately, it is currently on back order as there's no stock in the UK or Germany.
In the USA. I received a letter a few months ago from mercedes. Extending the warranty to 20yrs on the subframe. For both my c300 and my SLK.
That's great news. Mine was replaced under warranty so it is back on the road.
did you get yours sorted mercedes belfast looking £157+vat just to look at it then wait for approval from mb head quarters
Just had mine replaced yesterday
What was the cost?
Should be free now. The subframe is covered by a new extended warranty given to all current MB owners.
Check 710N turbo recirculation valve and N249 sensor.
Going through that right now. check your crank case hoses & do a smoke leak test. I had a paper thin crack on one of them & currently waiting on a hose kit from fcp euro
Can you share the exact part number for the exhaust donut sealing ring?
Mercedes Catalytic Converter Gasket - Genuine Mercedes 2044920081.
So I’m currently going through this problem can you help me find peice
Here’s the link to the piece I purchased, www.ebay.com/itm/363630400365?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=8ilvrwtwr0-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=nVqoKoSUSai&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Mercedes said that they wouldn’t know or want OEM if I didn’t tell them. It installed easily and the vehicle was able to be aligned without issues. I hope this helps
When you ordered the subframe , did it come with new parts? For example , the part that rusted off , when I see the subframe it appears to be just the subframe without the control arms etc… hopefully I explained properly
@@future2995 it came with all new bushings, but it did not come with the lower control arms. My control arms were fine. The mounting place on the Subframe is what rotted out on mine
@Future the control arms aren't part of the failure. The mounting bracket on the subframe (which the control arms mount to) is what fails. The subframes themselves are extremely weak in those areas to a comical level. Try part # 207 350 97 02 which supersedes part # 212 350 38 05. I also have a 204 # on my old subframe. These were on many different Mercedes chassis. Confirm fitment. Benz dealer network sites may say certain ones don't fit (even though they will), but what you really need to pay attention to is 4matic vs rwd as well as the p/n on your current subframe.
have this same issue and mine broke in the same spot benzUSA will not replace it free of charge after 2 months of trying and now currently replacing.
It’s crazy how they haven’t recognized the problem yet. In Europe they’re replacing then free of charge. Thankfully it’s not a terrible job. The hard part is finding a good used piece. I bought new, but not a Mercedes OEM and thankfully it worked and is still working today,
@Mike G it's a recall in the UK. Not sure about mainland Europe. I read a good amount of threads on the UK Benz forums about it
yeah i smoked a pothole and this happened to me. i wish it was free in the us
Just replaced subframe with the same issue. 2011 c300 75k miles with the same frame rot location.
Just curious, Did you use a used Subframe or a new one?
