Conference realignment is getting out of hand. Getting UConn for everything except football is ridiculous. If I were UConn, I would state that all sports must be added. For basketball purposes, UConn is a better fit with the Big East. They have history with these programs. Football wise, UConn has not been much since their BCS berth years ago and they need something so they can build up that program. They should stay Big East and have their football aligned with the MAC.

The expectations of ND in the B1G is huge. ND knows they will make $100 million a year with the current B1G contract. This is actually significantly more than ND is currently making, and not even close. The 3 major network partners want ND. The B1G wants into Florida. FSU is poring money in research by the $100's of millions. FSU wants B1G. IMHO I believe that the B1G will go to 24. How? By getting (not in this order) ND, Stanford, FSU, MIAMI, VA & UNC. Should GT be one of the 8, watch out. With even a 50% share, GT could make some noise and recruit well in SEC territory. Regarding MIAMI, the B1G will require a stadium built in Coral Gables or adjacent to Coral Gables, a home field with 50,000 seat capacity at MIAMI will be a very difficult place to play for opposing teams. With this conference configuration, as a national conference the B1G will be the premier league in all of college sports once again.

After watching the whole video, I have opinions (like everyone else on the internet): 1) I'm not sure if Virginia Tech goes to the SEC. I mean, sure, the money makes sense, but I don't think that makes sense culturally. Same thing with NC State, but I could be wrong with that observation, feel free to correct me on this one. 2) Everyone loves throwing around the "G5" moniker like it's some sort of plague. I'll use Cincinnati as an example. Had they had the facilities at the time, Cincinnati gets pulled into the ACC in 2014. I've said this on several videos on this platform, but back in the 2000s and 2010s, facilities mattered and UC missed out because they didn't make the investment and Louisville did. And since then, they're one of only two teams in the current Big 12 Conference who's made it into the 4-team CFP. And to quote The Athletic, they made it into the playoff using the system "designed to exclude them". There's clearly teams that are not artificially propped up by money that are capable of competing and there are teams that are currently artifically propped up by money that CAN'T compete. Y'all can shove that elitist crap somewhere else. That being said... 3) Looking at Chad's Big 12 Map, let's go with what he said during the video and the Big 12 makes it to 19 teams and we have a decision to make. I'm sure not taking Wake Forest, they haven't done ANYTHING for me lately in athletics outside of a 2018 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship and a 2023 Women's Golf Championship, neither of which move the monetary needle. I might give them credit for a 3rd Place CWS finish in 2023. Maybe. I'm also throwing out Boston College (that shouldn't need an explanation). Syracuse has the exact same problem as Wake Forest, thought not as bad. Take out Lacrosse from the 2000s, and they have a 2003 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship (that was two decades ago and haven't been the same since, but it's something), a Men's Soccer Championship in 2022 (doesn't move the needle), and in 2015 they have Men's XC and Women's Field Hockey (also don't move the needle). They've been basically irrelevant in football since moving to the ACC and their basketball program is a shell of its former self and can't even win their conference. At least they made the Final Four in the past decade. All of that being said, I like Memphis as a "promotion" pick. Sure, is The American a better conference overall than the ACC? Of course not. But at least in the past decade, Memphis has two conference championships in football, one in basketball. They have no national titles outside of an Individual Men's Golf Championship in the 50s. Memphis has been plagued by infrastructure issues and the refusal to make investments where it matters. But just like other teams that have moved from The American to the Big 12, they're making the investments in facilities. They have a better media market than Syracuse, NY and Winston Salem, NC (Piedmont Triangle). They would have support form FedEx. I'm more willing to make the chance on a team that has shown that they are now capable and just need the monetary resources to phave greater success than teams that have had resources for over a decade and have done nothing with it. Push out the folks that suck. Plus it fills in the gap in the middle of the map for travel. That ends my rant. I'm sure plenty of people will disagree with me, and hopefully I didn't state anything incorrect (I double-checked my work, but I'm human so I could have missed something). Chad I'd love to hear your thoughts.

@@NintendoFan5 thank you for the response. You could be right about the Hokies and NCSU not fitting into SEC. I do know that UNC, UVA, Duke will be targets for them and Big Ten and I had my discussion about how I swayed those so I won't dive into here. I get the Wake & Cuse debate. Neither have moved the needle too much in football or basketball. Sure have had some solid seasons here and there, and the only reason I went with the Orange is their ties with Pitt, WV, and Miami. I like the idea of Memphis moving in. I do believe them, Tulane, South Florida, UConn, and Temple might be the next targets along with Boise State and San Diego State that could get looked at, but that determines how the alignment cookie crumbles.
