In CA, new vehicles don’t need inspection within the first few years.

A resonator delete would be the removal of a resonator (can’t remember if there are two) up closer to the engine. The mufflers that were removed were at the very end of the outlet side of the exhaust.

The muffler delete is the removal of the two mufflers at the rear, one per side. Nothing else was touched.

Your comment is wholly irrelevant with respect to this video; is there something about this video I'm not super aware of that would lead you to believe the above has anything to do whatsoever with the Competition Package engine map?

Still though I don't think it's a good idea to give a "how to" guide in the comments of a RUclips video; it's not the right venue, and might also be a violation of TOS for RUclips since it's inherently risky (as limp mode is) and, depending on where you live, modifying the software of your auto may violate laws. That said, even outside the RUclips venue, I don't like to write tutorials that involve a high degree of risk impacting individuals spilling beyond the operator of a vehicle. There are ways you can pay for the comp map these days, and none of those ways involve me, so I can't recommend any in particular. Good luck!

I'm pleased with it. The vehicle overall, on the other hand, not so much. Engine failure at 5k miles and JLR North America's handling of the situation afterwards has... what would my lawyer allow me to say... not been with the level of care nor understanding that I'd have expected.

Around 1750 RPM there's a bit, but I almost never sit at that RPM for more than a moment, so it's bearable for me.

At lower speeds, they're open most of the way. At higher speeds, they're entirely closed. They varied throughout, since surface roads and freeways were both involved.

@@OfficialBalSidhu how does it sound? I have a 2014 V8 Sport. My resonators and center muffler are gone but the rear mufflers are still on. I like the sound. I'd think that removing everything would make it way to loud.

No; I don't think the HP delta would be a significant enough bump (relative to the stock 500+ hp at the crank) to be noticeable by any human.

Muffler deletes were a simpler first step since it involves one cut vs two (per side), although hanger fab on the delete pipes probably negates that. I also wanted it to be easily reversible and also wanted it to give more low-end than (relative) mid-range/highs. It achieved what I wanted it to in terms of both simplicity and timbre and is most likely more easily reverted to stock.

Also, as this is not an SVR, it has no dynamic exhaust, just a static route.

Oh ok, though maybe there were exhaust valves that opened at certain RPM's or in a Sport mode perhaps

@@miaudir8 the exhaust valves are only on the SVR. Funnily enough, the facelift SVR are quieter because they have variable valves, whereas the pre-2018 models have an on-off VALVE. So a lot of facelift owners are doing is just disconnecting the valves to make them sound louder all the time 😂

This wasn't a DIY; my steps were these: 1. Visit a local, well-reviewed, indie exhaust shop. 2. Tell them what you want, e.g. v-bands and easy reversion. 3. Pay up. Sorry it's not a more helpful tutorial but this is all I've got.

You can chop it off yourself you just need to know how to weld and have a lift and a tw0 pipes to replace the mufflers it’s much easier to go to a muffler delete shop they charge only like 200$

David Hen It's definitely there around 1,750 RPM but I don't sit at that engine speed for long in the vast majority of cases. So in my case, very bearable.
