Snail armor is useless - why wear any sincse king snail still one shots you

Cool idea. Not entirely sure why one would even bother with armor during the fight if there's no one-shot protection from it. I imagine most people would just go raw.

I dont really get the point of the Snail armor? Why would it need to have such high durability, if u could just NOT wear any armor that could break. Armor gives you zero benefit since it one-hits anyway...

Irl snails can climb walls. Maybe that would add more purpose to the rideable snails

What if you made it able to climb up blocks ? Or try to break blocks that you placed down ? (very slowly)

If the snail armour is made for snail king for durability reasons why does he still one shot you because then you might aswell just not wear armour no?

I love this idea! It feels like a good sense of progression without ruining the sense of the vanilla game. If I ever get better at coding I would love to implement this as a mod! I've always been a fan of slower game progression and this is a great example. I think more overworld and nether mobs in general would make things far more interesting. Not just variants of existing ones, but something a bit more alex's mobs style to increase the variation between biomes. I loved your idea of regional difficulty and gear progression from overworld to end. That would mean players would have to either be able to break obsidian with iron picks in some way or would need a reliable way of making end portals early on. I actually think that could be way more interesting. Starting out, before they get diamond gear, players would have to use the existing nether portals, but after getting diamond, they could make whatever portal they wanted wherever they wanted. That would provide a sense of progression in both gear and base customization. Additionally, doing this system probably means making villager trades a bit less op, as right now getting all that sort of stuff is grindy, but easy with villagers. I think it would be good to have trades capped at certain levels and expand them by giving the villagers different items like templates, trims or enchanted books. You would have to sacrifice some of your valuables, but afterwards theres a chance of the trade appearing later during some kind of trade refresh. I would love to see additional weapons in game, as I think they did a great job giving the axe, trident, bow, sword and crossbow some unique flair each. They all have advantages and disadvantages. I'd love to see a knife or dagger, maybe a spear, a slingshot and something like a mace. I feel like that would provide good weapon variety. Offhand tools for combat could also be super nice, as I get tired of carrying a shield just so I can deal with skeletons. Currently, making horse armor and saddles craftable in this system would allow for players to actually use horses reliably early game, then things like diamond and netherite horse armor are unlocked with player armor. This way horses are an actually useful way of early game transportation. Possibly the best way, in my opinion, for mojang to increase the sense of progression is through personalization. They already did this with trims to some degree, encouraging exploration, and in the above concept adding a nether portal to your base could be a flex about your adventures in the nether. Combined with something like End Remastered, where players have to gather special eyes from different locations around the world, progression could have a much more adventurous feel.

But dude part of the hypothetical is that you yourself are also immortal, the snail is the only thing that can kill you. It's a pact.

I like how in order to defeat the snail, you have to slaughter tons of its brethren and wear their remains on your body, so by the time the boss fight comes around the snail actually _has_ a reason to kill you.
