Suns out for 5 mins quick paddle and a visit from something new!
Nice Andy. One of many benefits of winter fishing is that there is far fewer boats and jet skis buzzing around and ruining the peace and quite. I'd be betting that during summer you could well get a nice kingy along that spot you were prospecting
Well Done just subscribed :)
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Just go fishing
Thanks for your feedback. Is it the challenge or the cooking that you’re giving me feedback back on? Happy to do more fishing 😊
Awesome work, Andy! We know how hard it is as a couple to film and get different camera angles, let alone on your own. Look forward to seeing the next video!
Thanks for watching! Having many cameras helps with the angles….. not the bank balance haha.
More thsn a dab hsnd in the kitchen 👍
Thanks mate! Lots of trial and error over the years. I am a big fan of Mexican cuisine so lots of practice there.
Light tackle Paddletail challenge, sounds like a normal days fishing with Loz 😂
True I lucked out with this one. Haha I’m not looking forward to the shallow 300g jig session in Shallow estuary!
😂 Bring it
Looked tasty Andy, just need to upgrade the hoodie. LOL
My Stealth one was in the wash! Have you got a Kaveman one yet? 😉
Love the challenge and only just seen first part, cant wait to see how challenge goes
Keep it going
Thanks Dman! I’ll have to drag you and Dillon out for a fish soon!
Subscribed. Nice videos. I live in Tauranga and can confirm your first snapper made it here 😂
Hahaha thanks Andrew…. I felt so bad with that I contemplated editing it out but I thought somebody would find it funnny!
Great vid Andy. You want to try around the mussel farms down that way. My mate owns them
Thanks Kev, I might hit you up about fishing them I have only done it once in the Coromandel and would like to try some filming this time.
Any chance of getting a schedule of when the barge works. Only seen it out there once and had a gret day bouncing my softbaits off the side of it. Got a video on my channel a couple years ago.
@@snappagrabba i will give him a call and let you know
@@snappagrabba rang Dean and he doesnt have set days on any week, he works when the factory needs mussels. Next week is Wed/Thurs. ok
Stonker! Great catch and "release" 😅
Thanks Tahli, yeah I need to work on my “release” haha …. The second one worked better!
Congrats on the PB Andy 👏, epic release
Thanks Loz…. I still have the joy and challenge to join the 20lb club but it’s always exciting catching a new one & stepping closer. Keeps me coming back again and again.
Maybe you need to stop chasing Kings and focus on winter moochers 😂
Never!
Another cracking vid Andy! What a session!
Thanks Rob. Was fun…. Wish more sessions were like this haha.
Awesome video Andy! Look forward to following you and seeing some more.
Thanks for watching team Te Taiko! I was watching your epic journey to Fiji thinking what monster fish you might have been passing over haha :)
@@KingsWithAndy yes and we never caught any! We tried too!
Nice feed Andy and another good effort with the video. Yeah that mud can get ya. I’ve been caught out many times. Are you using the GoPro remote when you film? How do you rate it? Are the cameras on all day throughout your video shoot?
Thanks Jezza appreciate the feedback, Im not using a GoPro Remote but I do use the Insta 360 remote for my 360 Camera, that was a good purchase as its a pain to have to extend/retract the boom to turn on off the 360. I dont have the battery capacity to have the cameras running the whole time *yet* but something im working towards... there is a trade off with editing effort havign to trawl through 8-10hours of footage vs missing the take or unique shot.... I think I might get to a point of having the 360 always running (battery life is good) but for now I scramble to turn them on when the action starts.
Great day
Thanks, always a great day on the water in my mind haha
Love the content bro, just subbed to the channel ❤ have a peak at some of our missions around Auckland if you get the chance !
Thanks for watching and the sub. I will definitely have a look!
Another good vid, do you think a smaller live bait would have kept you hooked?
Thanks mate, I think there was an issue with the circle hook not free moving. Potentially the hook might have turned into the live bait… will experiment with some other options…. I think the size of the live bait is the reason a massive king took it….I have had previous success on big baits… maybe a bigger hook required
Bridle rig through the eyes brother hook exposed 👍🏾 Choice vid Glad you never hit my spot X😝😎🎣
@@petepender5539thanks Pete for watching , I need to practice my bridal rigging…. I am unfortunately a bit lazy and go for the easy option annoyingly losing some good fish.
awesome vid Andy, looks like a beautiful spot. you guys up North get the awesome weather over winter.
Thanks for watching mate, we are lucky that we can get up North for the endless summer! It was a bit chilly at the start of the morning around 6*C but definitely warmed up later in the day.
New sub here! Awesome mission Andy 🎉
Thanks for the sub mate! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I’ve never fished that spot before. What a beautiful place. Loving your videos Andy, especially the commentary. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Thanks Jezza, maybe we should hit this one together in the near future…. Imagine the drone shots haha
Great vid Andy. Such bad luck with those big ones,..damn. What fantastic conditions
Thanks Rob, has definitely made me recheck my hooks and live bait holding techniques…. Might make a video of my efforts to learn…. Both Olaf and I had multiple missed hookups on our circle hooks so need some review I think. Makes us go back again eh.
Love that spot 😍
Yeah amazing place, definitely will be back. Now I know I can get there and back in a day(just) might be soon haha
New sub from Navarre Beach Florida. Just getting started with kayak fishing . Im hooked. Looking foward to following your adventures
Thanks KnightClan…. Appreciate the support. A new adventure is up already! And another coming soon (might even contain the biggest snapper I’ve caught this year 😉)
That meal at the end there - superb.
Thanks for watching. Ika mata is definitely a favourite way to eat fish soo yum!
Noice!
Thanks for watching Rus…. You should remind me to bring fish on a Monday!
Excellent as always. Misbehaving livies can be so bloody frustrating....always want to bury themselves in the weeds/reef as well as tangling the lines or wrapping the line around the rudder especially when you stop to throw out a softbait when you see good sign on the finder.
Thanks Rob. I think I had the classic case of live bait + additional kahawai on the softbait = disaster
Awesome vid Andy, how much line do you let your livies have?
Thanks Loz. I normally give them about 10-15m depending if I'm running a sinker or not. Sometimes a pain to keep control of but find it works best for the kings.
Great vid And, bloody weather looks awesome HAHAHA
Thanks for watching. Yep true addict out in lovely weather trying to find the big ones haha.
No tether for paddle? Cool vid
Im glad your enjoyed it. Regards the tether I have one and use it if I’m offshore or days that the surf is up…. I find it gets in the way a lot. The Stealth paddle holder on the nose does a great job of keeping the paddle safe and out of the way. Otherwise the paddle is firmly in my hands :)
Nice one Andy. I think we'll need to go 'out of town' to seek those kings. As per normal the blue 460 looks great...makes paddling look so easy.
As seen in an upcoming video where I tussle with an “out of Towner “ haha
talk to us about the gopro on the arm .looks good
Will do... Ill do a run through of my cameras on an upcoming video. Thanks for the request. Keep them coming.
Quite good kayak .
Thanks Nicolas, yes the Stealth Fisha series are amazing kayaks. Well worth the extra cash vs other brands.
@@KingsWithAndy yeep i agree
@@KingsWithAndy They don't ship many in the Uk
Stealth 460 wicked little kayak. For those looking for a top end kayak that is easy to handle and has all the bells and whistles this has to be on your wish list. Bloody thing cuts through water like a hot knife through butter...it certainly aint your standard barge. Great vid
Thanks mate…. More to come… I’ll do some more vids of the setup of the 460 when fully loaded soon.
What cameras do you use Andy?
Main cam is GoPro 11 Black Mini, angled shots from Insta 360 X3, and sometimes I use my Iphone 14 Pro (off the water).
Off to sulivans today, no kayak, drone and off the rocks. good info, might try it out
How was Sullies? that poor bay has been hit hard over the last few years.... used to hold so many more fish.
@@KingsWithAndy Only caught 3 small Snapper off the beach (kept one for dinner) with the drone 200-300M. Nothing off Pudding Island - just lost 4 jigheads and softbaits - too much foul. Did see a kahawai jump fully out of the water, but could not cast that far. Spoke to 3 Kayakers, one caught 3, one caught 5, the other 0, they were out about 7 hours
@@KingsWithAndy Lost our Mini Pro 3 drone (not our fishing drone). Think it's stuck in a tree, lost connection just on dark.
Nice Andy. Thats very different. Makes me feel even more guilty for taking those bigger snapper over the years....poor sods...been swimming around for decades avoiding sharks etc and some idiot comes with a hook and a softbait and gets lucky. Loving your doggy..handsome fella/girl.
Definitely my intention, always good to make the people catching the most fish think a little more! Glad you enjoyed the vid.
Well done lads, 3 awesome sized kingi's for the table and a decent sized JD too.
Those Stealths look so cool. Looks so much less effort to paddle. Knife through butter stuff.
Agree mate…. Some of my favourite shots are side angle of the bow of a Stealth effortlessly cutting through the water. Beautiful
glassy conditions
Typical glass conditions less fish…. It’s as if the fish know we will be out in force
Good day out! nice plug for DOC
Lucked out on the weather… DOC did a great job on Tiri wish we had more areas like this around the country.
Solid effort ladz, nice slay
O for Awesome...11mins in - Lazy Fish on, and then...BAM - Screaming Reel....off it went - What a Joyous sound...And the 110 at the end...Monster...?; }
pretty gold when a kayak fishing celebrity drops in to say hi. great vid. keep 'em coming
Awesome video Andy!. Proper bloody fish off a deadly fishing platform, well done. . Hopefully they're still around in a couple of weeks when I get back...gagging to get amongst it.
nice one
Awesome video Andy!! That 360 camera captures some great angles of the action. Great chatting with you out there too.
Thanks Greg, was a fun day and it looks like you did well also…maybe your like a good luck charm or something haha
The time lapses are wicked man
Did you play with the remote? I've got some fluff coming to make wind muffs (heard the Insta ones are not great).
Yeah remote is awesome. Mounted it to my sounder, easy to start stop recording with camera up on the stick. My next vid has some good king action using the camera. Happy with it so far
I bought a remote today. Have lost a few fish trying to turn the camera on.
My next vid showed the value of the button... king fish madness... no chance of turning on the camera when your being towed at 10kmph haha
