1989 Ford F-150 4.9L I6 - Temperature sensor location
This is the location of the coolant/water temp sensor in my 1989 F-150 with the inline 6. This one is for the meter on the gauge cluster. There is a second one elsewhere that controls the computer.
This was a pain to find a good description of online so I figured I'd upload a quick video of it. Not sure if it matters, but this truck has a manual transmission.

FIX: NexGen inconsistently saving or overwriting WAN-casted voice tracks
Просмотров 647 месяцев назад
This video shows you how to solve problems with WAN-casted remote voice tracks loading incorrectly into the wrong location, overwriting other voicetracks, or just not arriving at all into some spots but not others. Be sure to reload logs one the remote VT'd machine too! NexGen placeholder audio: drive.google.com/file/d/16TeWPwhMUOD0degAb24dpYioPiXZU4U5/view?usp=sharing

Super cheesy and half of it was an advertisement, but I thought it was entertaining nonetheless. Recorded off the air on 10/29/2023. Closed captions, while inconsistent, are uploaded exactly as aired.

Quick low-effort video demonstrating weird behavior I saw in the wild. I'm on Chrome version 113.0.5672.93, JS version V8 11.3.244.8, on Windows 10 Version 22H2 (Build 19045.2965). Here is the offending page: accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/PopupProductDetail.aspx?cs=ptdhs1&l=en&c=pt&sku=450-AFLE
NexGen radio automation software does not like 800 days of uptime!
Просмотров 467Год назад
Found a bit of a funny bug yesterday in NexGen where once you cross some threshold of Windows uptime, the auto-logout timer gets confused and immediately logs you out. I'd imagine it's an integer overflow somewhere. The same thing happened on another machine of ours with a similar uptime the night before (just before a live sports game!) so it's not just a one time thing. These machines run the...
What a failing IP link between a radio station's studio and transmitter sounds like / KPFX-HD2
Просмотров 8512 года назад
Video from a couple weeks ago of interference on this station's STL link. KPFX-HD1 and HD3 are both fed on dedicated, licensed Digital 950 STL. However, KPFX-HD2 is ran via consumer 5.8 GHz Ubiquity gear and was receiving interference, causing dropouts. Since reasonably priced internet doesn't exist out at the transmitter site, this STL link is the only two-way communication with the outside wo...

Its so beautiful... play it on Christmas eve on this map for me. -Zuko
This is awesome
mfw its 9 o'clock on a saturday
Wow, thats quite the catch! I noticed you have (what i think atleast is) nexgen up. Do you happen to work for KEGK?
Yup. I do some of the engineering for that cluster of stations. KBVB, KPFX, KLTA, KDLB, KQWB (AM and FM) and a few translators
Now we need a November 17th 2023 EAS test.
3:16 if you look at the bottom right, you can see a k fee parody.
Cool
I'm still unsure of what happened to KMOJ. Their EAS system has been broken for over 2 years. I've sent numerous emails to the station with zero response each time. Do they just not take public safety seriously?
I’m almost positive the system WAS working at some point, it probably just broke and they’re too lazy to either buy a new system or fix the old one. Just my guess. One thing I think is interesting is how it sounds like it realizes that its pitch is wrong after the first two tones, and corrects itself, although it still short-circuits by the time the attention tone finishes.
Awesome video! Tysm!
double barrel, nice. im wondering how a station managed to relay at 1:17 lmao
An FM playing Spiritbox?! SIGN ME UP! Also any chance of you doing the 2023 NPT as a video?
How did you get a direct connection to your car’s antenna?
we have a station here in waco called 106.7 the eagle and it does that all the time and its just an analog signal
Somebody needs to fix the STL.
I’ve actually heard the audio cut out multiple times on my local country station (WMZQ-FM, Virginia, Maryland, DC), and after several seconds of dead air, a completely random instrumental would begin playing. I don’t know where the music comes from, but it seems like it’s their way of saying “we’re having some issues, please stand by”. Either way, this is a very creative way to decrease dead air!
Sounds like a weird hammer at the beginning! 🤣
This is K257EP, translating KLDQ and serving Fargo. Of course it's an EMF owned station doing this.
it sisn't work on mine
Have you seen my son
Please help my son is missing
Roman, in the pre-internet stream days, SCA's were used for multiple uses by FM broadcasters. Muzak offered its services using SCA, either on 67 kHz or 92 kHz sections of a signal. Where I live, the Illinois Farm Bureau had a 24 hour stream of ag news for those who subscribed to a fixed-tuned radio that carried the program, as was the Physicians Radio Network for doctors. Reading services for the blind also use SCA audio throughout the USA. There are also data services. There is a Minnesota connection to this--Bruce Elving printed an FM Atlas of stations with detailed technical specs on US radio stations, along with their SCA's. He also modified radios to receive them and sold them (I have two of them). Bruce died in 2011--here is his wikipedia entry: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Elving
Hopefully you’re still able to hear something with your radios. I was one of two technicians that Bruce had hired on a regular basis during the 90s and 00s to modify consumer type AM/FM radios to play the subcarriers. A lot of Bruce’s customers were those who were wanting to tune in the Radio Talking Book. Unfortunately in 2013, the subcarriers were shut off in the state of Minnesota and the Radio Taking Book was switched to encrypted over IBOC.
The radios I have still work. Most of the SCA's were shut down, but our Radio Information Service/Minds Eye reading service still uses 67 kHz SCA even over an IBOC station. The service is hoping to drop their SCA over time, as their internet stream and on-demand services are becoming more prominent. SCA's are also used for 'talkback' between on-air people and remotes.@@LiquidRadio
I can feel each layer getting physically closer to me.
1. WCCO-TV definitely does RMTs and does not skip them. The timing on them depends on when they can get inserted into the feed. You get 60 minutes to relay them. 2. The duplicate on AM is because the initial alert came from their FEMA ENDEC, which is what everyone relayed. The ghost copy is from their local ENDEC.
in 2013 I pushed a woman off a bridge and the case has been cold ever since
There is no longer any sca signals in northern ohio, I used to get a few sca channels from a few stations, a local public broadcasting station used to have signal on 67 Khan and 92 Khan, those signals today are no longer being broadcast. Looks like everything has gone to satellite.
I always get lots of interference around some of the buildings which is probably like normal
01:26 oh yes that's quality
It is interesting how the signal gradually increases and returns to the air. Is this a feature of the transmitter, or is this how the sdr equipment handled the appearance of the signal? And yes, the sdr "tits" are very clear at the end.
pretty sure KZJK counts as a fail as it didnt play the attention tone (possibly to end the test before that ad, which itself is a violation too)
also, looks like WLKX has that same "second" attention tone fade in like KQGO did. is it possible that they sourced their alerts from the same place?
I don't know what a pilot signal is so you might have to make a video about what they are
2:22 what happened to their audio it's super messed up there's lots of other station noises overlapping it
KQRS has not been the same since Ray left. KQRS just sucks now. Bland. Very bland. It’s terrible. I miss the old KQ
IDs were probably hard timed
I think KTCZ was like this for awhile as well.
Jack doesn’t have the best audio processing
Kick ass song playing. It’s indicative on why 93X Minneapolis still exists and KEGL in Dallas failed. They’re not afraid of hard rock on 93X.
Ik
I'd be interested in getting a copy of this aircheck unscoped, this is extremely interesting and something I'd be extremely interested in adding to my collection.
Me watching PBS cartoons on the video will my TV turns to color bars
