      hehehe eso es porque le subí mucho la velocidad para hacer el vídeo más cortito. Igualmente la sensación es muy distinta cuando tienes las gafas puestas (es mejor)... Y muchas gracias!!!

    Hola Rafa. Cuando tu exportas desde Medium, ¿bajas la cantidad de poligonos ? ¿como puede ser optima esa exportacion para trabajar con Blender?. Excelente trabajo

      un poco sí aunque si veo que a blender le cuesta después lo vuelvo a decimar dentro de blender, aunque puede soportar bien 7/8 millones de polígonos si no hay muchos objetos en la escena.

    So you built that whole “kit bash” set as part of the thumbnail process that you sent to the AD for approval? Do you usually do this instead of starting with flat thumbnails? Seems like a better way honestly. Flat thumbs always end up with flat comps for me.

      Yes, you described my workflow perfectly. It's more work than simple 'flat' compositions, but once you do it you can change the camera position and the light sources quite easy and have better results imho ;)

    so all the designs were given to you by them? you had to find a nice composition for the illustration alone and push it?

      Not exactly. They sent me a prompt and 3 or 4 W40K reference images (tentacles and architecture) so I had full freedom to design the building following the W40K shape language. And this language is also based on gothic architecture so I also used some references from that period ;)

      thanks so much! the VR part took me around 1h, then blender+daz3d+marvelous designer 3 or 4 more hours and finally painting it over in photoshop around 1 hour... ;)

    Brutal! Cómo repelente del 3D honorífico de te tu clase, por eso, tengo que añadir que igual en el momento de hacer el suelo, para añadir detalle te hubiera ido mejor usar un displacement que un bump. No he visto si lo ponías en el output de displacement, pero en qualquier caso, Blender no distorsiona la geometria realmente hasta que: 1. Vas a los settings del material que estás tocando - settings - y cambias de "bump only" a "displacement only" o "displacement and bump" 2. Tienes suficiente geometría para que el shader pueda moverla 3. Trabajas en Cycles (el displacement de shader no funciona con eevee) Al mover la geometria realmente y no sólo hacer un bump, que sólo mueve las normales para "fakear" el relieve, los bultos proyectarán sombras de verdad e igual te hubieras ahorrado ese poquito de sculpting. Si me lo callaba rebentaba. Aún así, por una vez que comento, que joder si si aprende viéndote considerar que toca hacer en 3D y que en 2D. Muchas gracias por ir subiendo estos vídeos que uno aprende mogollón. Un abrazo!

      thanks for the comment! Me alegra que te resulten útiles los vídeos que voy subiendo y, aunque sean time-lapses, se pueda ver como hago las cosas. Sé que no siempre es de la forma más eficiente, pero apenas llevo un año y 3 meses usando blender hehehe Por otro lado, el suelo sí que tiene displacement, aunque con un valor bastante bajo porque básicamente es arena. Además tiene un subdivision surface con 'adaptive subdivision' para que tenga sólo más geometría cerca de la cámara. El motivo por el que esculpí esa parte era para poder controlar donde quería que el suelo estuviera elevado. Podría haberlo hecho con vertex paint y añadirlo con un nodo mixRGB al displacement existente, pero así resulta más fácil e inmediato. Y por cierto, con eevee sí se pueden poner displacements si lo haces a través de los modificadores, aunque no es tan flexible como hacerlo con los nodos del material. Un abrazo!

      You can actually import any external OBJ file or you can create your own stamps ;)

      Pues utilizo las oculus rift S y relación calidad-precio es la que recomendaría. Sin embargo las oculus quest 2 ofrecen una calidad similar y valen 100 euros menos. Espero haberte ayudado ;)

      Thank you so much! About the b&w window I got it from: window/arrange/new window for (your file) Then I dragged and dropped this new window to the top left corner and zoomed it out. Then went to view/proof setup/custom and chose 'dot gain 20%'. Thus every time I press CRTL+Y I can switch between B&W and color version

      ops... I missed your message. I'm so sorry. I duplicated the same window using window/arrange/new window for (document filename). Then you have to press down crtl+Y in order to enable proof setup. I previouslu set up the proof setup to Dot Gain 20%... Hope that helps you!
