    Beyond all reason takes the cake on this genre and it’s free. PA was good but these devs lost all credibility when they released PA: Titans - Gave us what should’ve been a cheap DLC or add on and released it as its own game. Scummy business tactics and loss of credibility. There’s better options for free such as BAR that are actively in development. I’d buy this game but only once it’s fully released

    I'll keep the cash in my pocket, wait till it's released and then look at reviews to see it's worth it or not. It sucks that RTS games have mostly gone by the wayside. Everyone more focused on FPS and/or Battle Royale... as if there aren't enough games like those. The last time I enjoyed a good RTS... way back with the Supreme Commander series and where has that company vanished too? Other than that... I did enjoy Tiberium Wars. So one company that doesn't exist and another that basically gave up on RTS games.

    Looking good but when can we play with it. I was worried that you guys had secretly canceled the project and was worried I threw away my preorder on your website. I'm less concerned about when if we get the game. I love annihilation games, total annilation for life. But I also love satisfactory. I'm hoping this will be a fun mix of both, and I'm hoping we can have a factory sim sandbox peaceful mode too.

    After 10 months (plus unknown more from before the game was announced), 820 000 dollars raised from Start Engine, further 260 000 dollars (as of now) from Kickstarter, and over 3 million copies sold from Planetary Anihilation, is 30 seconds of vague gameplay really all you gotta show for it?

    I just can't back this yet as PA was rubbish and this looks a little bit cartoony and weird. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is my favourite RTS of all time, so if this fixes all that was terrible about PA and makes it more SupCom-ish then I'll happily buy it full price. Chris Taylor is a legend, but PA burnt me a bit (as you can probably tell)!

    I've been a loyal fan since TA/Cavedog 👍 I'll only back your game on KS, if you allow me to play your latest build 🤷 ...but I'm sorry, I will not give you my money for no ability to play. Even if the game is completely broken, unstable, buggy, and crashing.... I don't care. It cant be worse than Star Citizen

      What worries me is that it look this... embryonic, after the game's been in development for well over the duration of a pregnancy, and is supposed to be mature enough to walk in three months. Sure it look unfinished and that's to be expected... but this footage is egregiously disappointing.

      @@MrTBSC The complaint is more that they continue to refuse to showcase anything. If this really is all they have to show then the game can't hit Early Access by the end of the year. And if they have more to show then they aren't respecting the community's request for a showcase of what they've been up to. This is then either horrendous community management or a surefire flop/scam trying to hide that fact untill they get the Kickstarter money 5 days from now.

If you expect the game to be "ready" or "presentable" to the masses you are missing the point Early access does not mean beta neither anything close to 1.0 release candidate .. people that do not understand this have no reason to get into early access .. and it's absolutely the devs right to not immediately show stuff... this pressuring of people on the devs to showcase or be labeled scammers helps no one

      very possible that this version is using PA assets before the IA ones are finished. not something you should expect to translate to final release.

    I really hope that this game is more focused on singleplayer longer playthroughs rather than fast (well if ~1h counts as fast) multiplayer type matches where you have to constantly repeat your factory designs every match

      @@fakenman KS will end up with 230K dollars, i doubt it`ll get 250K for the extra commanderskins over the 5 days remaining by the time of this post they did reach their initial goal today after 24 days

    Great work guys! just a small note here as an RTS player: add more diversity to units and their roles, it may have made sense to keep the unit comps simple in planetary annihilation, since your attention is so devided across too many fronts, but for a flat map like this, i think you NEED to have more unit depth. Ie, counters and counters to counter. Look to the game "beyond all reason" for inspiration. having the new factory mechanic is great, but if the units coming out of it are intresting and diverse with strategic depth to the choices you make, I'm confident your game will se alot of success.

    I see coal and iron to turn into power and metal, coal looks like it is also used for smelting but some of the smelters aren't connected to a coal line. Also looks like you are going to deposit into warehouses that can further distributes items.

      @@DJSolistica On what do you base that judgement? If they had footage like this a year ago, why are there no stockpiles/warehouses in the announcement trailer from 10 months ago, and why are the conveyor belts in that trailer so obviously fake while these are visibly better? The first footage of the stockpiles and real conveyor belts are in the Kickstarter trailer from three weeks ago. If they've had this for a year already then why does the Kickstarter update with this video read: "This should give you an idea of where we are with the game..." If you are right and this footage is that old they are either lying or haven't made ANY progress for more than a year. Concerning seeing as they claim to be planning to put the game on Early Access within the next three months. This community management is farcical, and I can only take the total absence of information as a sign that they are hiding something really ugly.

    i played planetary annihilation, and I was always put off by the visuals, it just visually looked cheap to me. I know the artists worked hard and its their style, but supreme commander still looks better to this day imo. And this one again has the same style, it feels like, prototype /unfinished art.

      this is prototype/unfinished. pretty sure they are using old models from PA because the models for IA are not finished.

    If you guys make it a good factory game I'll play it just for that- if it has the attention to detail & ease of use of SupCom or PA/ or PA-T all the better. My biggest request is that you have proper UI / menu scaling- independent of screen resolution. Most of the ppl I know- including me, although a PC gamer @ heart; play consoles too- so it's on a large TV, rather than a monitor. As an example: Dyson Sphere Program is great, but is mostly unplayable if your not standing directly in front of the TV. Most non-mission / quest / or tutorial text, is fine because it pops up in the upper right & is scaled to fit that window, but nearly all upgrades, research, tool-tips etc, are just too small to read. Factorio on the other hand, solved this issue very quickly & it's UI scaling has worked flawlessly for years now.

    this looks really dissapointing i cant lie, taking one of the funnest elements out of PA:T which is rapid expansion and outposts by forcing you to build logistics for them seems like its going to be really annoying to do mid game, PA:T was fun because of how macro heavy it is, and now I have to micro *all* of my construction??

    Reminds me of Mindustry. One feature I wish more RTS games had is the ability to queue future actions. I want to be able to send a group of units to a specific location and then have them automatically perform a different action, like holding their position, once they arrive.

      @@enmanuel1250 Same basic idea- but for quite a few games that won't work while a rally order is still in play. And although I would expect that they would keep a similar control scheme to their prior games, that's not a guarantee. I played a couple random RTS's last year that didn't follow barely any of the conventional control schemes. For instance the absolute worst was like this: Ctrl1-0 didn't assign ctrl groups. You had to use ALT instead & to recall them, instead of just hitting the #1-0 key once or twice you had to use ctrl-1-0 for that. Double clicking on an individual unit didn't auto-select other units of the same type either, It was basically ATK+move but for all units you had on screen. You had to drag a selection box with the right click or right-click & hold to make a selection circle- it was a mess. One of the decent ones was called Rusted Warfare, & it has a PC/Android ver & although it runs great on droid unless your using like the entire earth map it needs a on-screen "shift" button for things like that & for better building placement without getting builders stuck between structures you were making & being stuck forever unless you reclaim it for resources. Aside from mostly control issues it will probably live on that tablet until it's battery won't keep a charge & dies.
