Great video. I own a step 8. The opening experience is a step above most all or her brands. Everything oozes quality. And the module is awesome. I see more joranalogue modules in my future. Great stuff
Buy one module and you’ll enjoy it. Buy two or more and you buy into a philosophy of patching that I think is distinct from other brands
Just to be clear: we don't own this factory! 😁 It's just a short drive from our office though, and all our modules are assembled there by local labour, solar energy and love.

Interesting, but do they sound better?
The point is not always whether they sound better, but how they feel to use and what options they make you consider. You can eat soup with a fork, or spaghetti with a spoon, and you may learn something interesting in the process, but the other way around is usually more comfortable.
I do think they have a distinct sound which might be considered ‘better’ by some, for certain use cases, however it comes down to personal taste 👅

@@kingajanicka so there's a main Freq + Freq Mod on the left, then four columns A-D each having a Ratio, Offset and Duty Cycle control. This seems to imply some kind of sub-harmonic square wave generator. My guess is that the main section generates a ramp wave which is then normalled to A->D where each section can divide(ratio), offset(phase I presume) and set the pulse width. (or optionally be fed any other signal through the "in" input). So each section kinda functions like a comparator. Another use case would be as a voltage controlled clock divider. Which is exactly what I've been hoping they would make! So very exciting stuff indeed.

Erica is a concentration of this ethic, of proliferating stem interest.. I have many friends in Latvia who were there when much of this was starting to grow 20 years ago with frac rac and pooling old synthesizers in the scene as it was at the time . What it has become is phenomenal..
The ethics of the Latvian groups are phenomenal creating stem interests using music.

Really nice to see the team! I absolutely love (the workflow and the sound of) my PĒRKONS HD-01. <3 A sampler with the same workflow, with a real (big) screen (for sample editing) and live recording would be an excellent sampler proposal on the market. Lots of direct controls (lots of knobs as the PĒRKONS HD-01), 16 steps sequencer directly accessible... I'd love that! <3

What a great team. I can vouch that they absolutely stand behind their instruments, and educate. Many years ago, I was getting started in DIY with their Wogglebug DIY kit. I made some huge mistakes that ended up actually melting the pcb and destroying some traces. Girts teased me a bit (well deserved) but then buckled down with another member of his team and stuck with me through the whole process of trying to fix it. We ended up using a clipped lead to restore the trace and got it working. What I never shared with the Erica Synths team is that I was working on it with my then 6-year old son. It was a lesson that stuck with him to this day about not giving up. To this day, whenever we solve a problem we got stuck on, we call it a “Wogglebug moment”. And now my son is helping me design our own PCB’s and breadboard projects. Thanks to you Girts, and the whole team. You guys rock! Oh… and yeah… That Wogglebug (along with numerous other Erica Synths modules) sits front and center in my rack to date. It runs rock solid, and never gets ignored.
