hell yeah
underrated
Nice job
If you use quick focus you can heal two times when staggered, 3 times if it does the spike throw attack after. And you can chance it and heal two times during focus attack, it usually works for me it has failed me once.
Damn! not bad
Nice
Thanks for the strat man really helped out a fellow pot bro
Have you been still working on this run? I myself have been doing a pots only damage run and I'm right now trying to figure out how to beat radagon/elden beast and Malenia.
I still have the file, but I've concluded that radagon/beast is impossible due to a lack of damage. The best option is volcano pots and big fire pots, but without stat dumping 99 into the relevant attributes, even with perfect hits, there's not enough damage to win. Same goes for Malenia, except hers is a bit more difficult to calculate due to her having a programmed dodge. I managed to beat Radagon/Beast using AI manip, poison breath, and co-op with a friend who had an identical pot build. I can upload that as well, but it's quite cheesy.
@@masonster1111 yeah radagon also blocking/parrying the pots is frustrating. I appreciate the feedback and all the work you put into your pots run, its honestly helped me out with mine alot. But not to ignore your conclusion, im probably going to be taking a good handful of cracks at reaching the end credits with pots myself, one of those "I need to find out for myself" kinda situations.
@@masonster1111 i have to ask, before the cheese strat you spoke of, what was the closest you got to beating Raddy/E. Beast
@@CallMeZorbin Reviewing footage, the farthest I'd gotten was to somewhere around 1/3'rd health left for the beast. Of course now that the new pots are released and the Beast's fire resistance has been set to 0, they're now very possible to beat c:
23:22 I have a question: HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW WHICH ONE IS THE REAL ALU? Please help, my run was ruined because I killed Lisa
The real Alu moves at a noticably faster pace than the illusions. Try to exorcise him from Lisa in the center of the room so it's more clear which is moving quicker than the rest.
@@masonster1111 thanks man, I really appreciate it
I finally took the bastard down. This weightlifternerd btw, this is my gaming channel. On his second phase I was able to bleed him 3 times, it seemed almost impossible, but I proc him with 2, 3, and 5 pots, then I finished him off with rot. ruclips.net/video/e2YSVPqSVNY/видео.html
This is an insane accomplishment, you seem to very the only one who pulled this off congrats on the clever strategy. Pots only run is no joke, your a beast!
This has to be a crazy challenge, In order to legitimately be on a slick unit every little thing to go right. I mean I've tried bloodboil aromatic, soul stiffer, 20 blood pots, 7 cold pots, 3 freeze pots. I've basically tried your strategy of cold.pot, rot pot, then bleed pot. But every time I still get to like a little bit of life left I can never fish him off. Ive tried the companion jar talisman, jellyfish shield, blood exultation talisman, poison kindred talisman. Howl of shabiri, golden vow, dancer charm. I've tried multiple different Combinations in the result is always the same up so hes always just a bit short of killing him.
A fellow Potentate! Glad to see I'm not alone :) It's been a minute since I attempted this, but I remember being pretty certain that the combination of pots, plus the charms that I had equipped, was the only way to get lethal damage on him. Stat distribution also matters considerably, I think I was running with something like 85 arcane. Bloodboil aromatic has a conflict with one of the other buffs (Golden vow?) which I only learned about after my Mohg attempt. Golden Vow, last I checked, is a straight upgrade so I'd go with that where possible. The other two things are: With the blood pots, it's very important that you avoid hitting his head since you'll miss valuable damage ticks as the swarm stagnates over thin air. You have to hit him center mass, and apply damage rapidly after your first bleed proc to maximize Exultation. You also have to keep a running tab of exactly how many pots it will take to reach the required number of procs (3, I think?) for first phase, so you don't waste any damage for second phase, and let the rot finish him off. I recommend filling your physick with the drop that restores health gradually to keep taking advantage of Ritual Sword, and one more of your choice. Combine that with the bubble perfume and you should have near constant uptime. Don't forget to back up and reload your save for retries! Gathering up those materials is a big pain. Let me know how it goes!
Thanks for the reply, whether I win or not maybe I'll post up an attempt on my gaming channel. I like to do unique challenges like this, I did a run where I only used the wraith calling bell lol. Yeah after watching your attempt I just figured golden vow, plus bloodboil. 15% plus 30%. Bloodboild I read is a body buff while golden vow is an aura buff. I tested which buffs stack on the albirnics in moghs palace. When I fought him I kept questioning whether to hit him in the head or the body. My usual tactic was hugging him and hitting his lower body, but lava chip damage prevents the sword ritual talisman. But I figured using bloodboil, soul stiffer would buff 30% and soul debuff 15%. I tried howl of shabiri and commander standard so many different combinations to ensure th3 highest damage. Howl of shabari is in th3 same category as bloodboil and stacks with golden vow. Howl buffs 25% but you take 30% more.damage it's like a slightly worse bloodboil.
Center mass though, i thought you were aiming for his head or neck, but I can see now you lob them to hit him in the middle. First phase he sometimes moves backwards, and second phase he moves backwards a lot more so when I hit him with my blood pots think only part of the swarm got him so he didn't take full damage.
I've been stuck Rychard forever, I tried using a similar strategy with then same.pots. I've tried all rot pots, all cold pots, and I always get him to like a 16th or 8th of his life and by that time I run out of the 30 pots I have.
Absolute mad lad
I just realized, upon decompiling the game theres a hitbox for the cross. its a cylinder shaped thingy, and the tip of the hitbox is the weakest part of the cross's hitbox. So if you got closer to gary and used the cross on him, you could deal more damage to him. This is just a guess but maybe its true. This would probably work on any other enemy I guess.
That's some crazy pot action
I'm surprised you did all this without the persistent cross glitch.
I only learned about it after I'd completed the run. Though honestly at that rate, I might as well just use tools to modify my death count mid-run. I was really tempted to after Peakaboo demon clipped through the fucking boxes to kill me in the apartment chase sequence.
See that wasn't so hard now was it?
Wait so how DO you unlock the disable demons option?
Hardest part is definitely overcoming my fear of the camera part of chapter 3.

hey so if the new option you unlocked wasn't to do with the DEMONS thing did you figure out what it actually was that unlocked?
There's nothing else in options for it to unlock as far as I can tell. I'm pretty sure it's just bugged.
@@masonster1111 ah, that sucks, thanks for the clarification
@@masonster1111 most likely joke option tbh
big ups! i've been trying to get this for a little over a week now and it's been one of the most frustrating experiences i've had in a while. almost all of that has to do with gary. i've been getting particularly unlucky with him using rain of spiders up to five times in a row (plus the occasional giant michael), then i get to watch my cross spawn on top of/right next to him after inevitably going down. i've lost three runs to that this week. this game is very cruel. i almost wish you could damage him while he's casting it, then i might've been able to hit the finish line. but hey, hopefully i get to join the club soon. also, how did you unlock the daybyday background? it looks beautiful and i'd like to use it, but i believe it's the only background i don't have.
To be honest with you, I don't remember the unlock conditions for the backgrounds. If it isn't for getting all endings in Faith 3, it may be for getting the secret ending in Faith 2 Prologue or getting run over by the airdorf truck in all 3 games. As for rain of spiders (phase 2 spiders specifically), it's horribly overtuned. The strategy I discovered was: if you notice in my fight, whenever he casts RoS, I go to a very specific part of the center of the stage. From my testing, I've discovered that you can safely make it to all but 2 of the possible spawn points for John's crucifix and recover. It's not a guarantee, but as long as you react quickly, I clocked in my success rate at 90-ish percent. Using that strat, I was able to beat him several times in practice by face-tanking every one of his attacks, so while it's not perfect, it's about as reliable as you'll get.
I pulled up you video when I got chapter 3. I made it really far, but I died to the cultist where the two cultist spawned at the red light green light area. I almost pulled off what you did in the video, but I wasn’t able to kill him fast enough, so I retreated back the red light green light section. Then I tried again, but he wouldn’t go for the grab and I tried to retreat but he caught up and got me ending my run. Any tips for this part? I’m honestly most scared of just getting past that cultist.
Sure thing. Like I mentioned in another comment, the strat I use of running up and to the right is extremely safe no matter what that guy does. If he tries to grab, you have more than enough time to get the kill. If he tries to run, just keep running up and right until he misses you -- he's scripted to go down into the doorway that joins to the section you come out of. Once he's missed you, he will invariably try to grab you horizontally from below and miss you by a mile. At that point, you can just continue past the inactive cultist and escape the room with virtually 0 risk, or just face downwards and cast for the kill If you're unsure about it, I recommend backing up your save and trying that section when you get to it. If you succeed, instead of quitting out and reloading your save, you can just exit and reenter the room and their positions will have reset even if you killed them. Happy hunting :)
@@masonster1111 Thanks for the advice and for responding! I’ll try it out!

In faith chapter 3 does it matter what ending you get can I get ending 1 or do I have to get ending 3?
Neither...you have to get ending 2 specifically lol. Gary fight cannot be avoided.
@@masonster1111 so that's what you mean by it's luck based ha.
@@masonster1111 btw any tips for Gary phase 1 and 2?
Congrats on making it through. Do you have any advice on Gary & Malphas fight?
I put some of my biggest tips down in a comment for PuppetWraith, those should help you out :)
Well done! Surely not an easy feat. I've been practicing a bit for a deathless run. Ch 1 & 2 is not an issue, but the real hurdle lies within the Gary fights. Also, good to know how the seals spawn. Now I understand why going behind the dead body is a terrible idea lol
It's honestly not a bad escape route as long as you remember to diagonal walk. If you start by diagonal walking directly into Miriam, then diagonal walking around her in either direction, the odds of a seal spawning in front of you to block are virtually zero. The catch is that you can never, ever forget to do that method or it'll cost you the run.
@@masonster1111 I tried it again today and I was able to beat both Gary without dying! Could have been a deathless run ...if that cultist didn't charge at me instead of doing that hand stretch. Any idea how I should go about it? It's the part at 44:30
@@funkabomb Yes! That cultist has gotten me too. If you approach him the way I did and run to the upper right like I did, no matter whether he tries to grab you or run at you, he'll miss. If he runs at you, he'll run into the doorframe and try to grab you from way down below, where you can either cast down to get him or easily escape.
@@masonster1111 It is done! I have uploaded the run on my channel. Thanks for all your advice!
I'm gonna try go for this achievement, just wondering what ending you went for in Faith Chapter 1. Congrats on the achievement!
Thanks! In Faith 1, you have to get the ending where you obliterate Michael. Fortuitous too since it's also the fastest!
This is so cool. I've only had one try that ended at Amy's pentagram phase... I'm just scared I'm gonna get all the way to the end of chapter 3 and get killed by "true" Gary, because a pentagram spawns in front of me. (Do you have any tips for that boss?)
Oh boy, true Gary has gotten me at the tail end of a run more than once. I absolutely have tips for you, but it's a lot so bear with me: The most important thing to understand about his fight is that because the pentagrams are so aggressive, truly reliable victory is impossible. Managing him is simply a matter of maximizing your odds for success. The second thing to understand are the hotboxes. Gary's kill hitbox is deceptively at his hands, and extends rectangularly along the length of his body. The pentagrams actually have a much shorter hitbox than their model suggests, it only goes up just about 60% of their represented height. Also, Johns walking collision is from his feet to his knees, as long as those aren't touching anything, you can move there. John's death collision box goes up to his neck from his knees. On the arena itself, the checkered borders of the arena can be walked on, and are completely safe from Gary's four random rush attack (though don't stay anywhere near the corners of the arena once it ends). Also, the area behind Miriam can be traversed, but because of the following tip, it should only be traversed by diagonal walking. It's a good place to die by getting blocked in. Now for the meat: 75% of this fight is managing the pentagrams, and this is how you can juke them: - Never spend more than 2 consecutive seconds walking in a straight line away from Gary. It will spawn a pentagram in front of you. Either criss cross walk diagonally or more optimally, turn to get some hits on Gary. - In rare situations, if you are on a higher Y coordinate than Gary, you can use him to break pentagrams that are in your way to get away. I've done this more than once. Lastly for Gary, avoiding his basic lunge attack. He will either go into a lunge or a 4-prong random rush after taking 24 steps towards you. Hug the edge of the arena in small circles and anticipate his next move as always being his basic lunge. The lunge will initiate a little after 1.5 seconds have elapsed once he comes to a halt. He will place a marker for where his rush will end just before he actually lunges, and that marker is always at your feet. Therefore, though somewhat risky, it's best to move a little closer to Gary and damage him until just before he lunges. This will minimize the amount of ground you allow him to cover by lunging, and minimizes your chance of getting blocked in by a pentagram since pentagrams will always spawn wherever John is facing, even if he's stationary. During the Malphas phase, the bottom of the arena is far more safe than the top. Try to avoid it unless you see a clear opportunity to damage both Gary and Malphas in the same cast without getting interrupted by Gary's basic lunge. For some reason, damaging both Gary and Malphas seems to do considerably more damage to their overall health than 2x. This may be because the game actually slows down their animations when being hit, but in any case, it's best to take advantage of this whenever possible and safe, especially when Malphas breaks off to try to land on you. Also, never ever let Gary get away from you. Always have him close to you and always have him close to the edges.
@@masonster1111 I've been practicing the fight on my ch3 save file, and have been able to beat him 3 times in a row. The little damage I get in from turning around to hit him builds up, and deals with some of the pentagrams. The second phase is actually easier, because the arrows replace some of the pentagrams. Unfortunately my best run died at the final boss of chapter 2.
@@puppetwraith17 Nightmare Miriam can be pretty aggravating, especially with having to keep Garcia alive. Thankfully I think airdorf patched it to where only one of her attacks (the one where she beelines straight for Garcia) can actually Mortis him, and it only requires one casting frame to interrupt. I recommend practicing her final phase on Chapter 2 just by reloading the last checkpoint over and over. Her attacks repeat in a rigid pattern and you'll be able to predict it before long.
I practised true Gary to death so after dying to every single boss including human Gary I actually defeated True Gary on my first attempt reaching him without dying before. I was shaking for a good 30 minutes after he died.
How many attempts did this take you? Congrats
Thanks! I wanna say it took me around 10 or so tries. Most of my deaths were me getting sloppy in Faith 2 and I had a few real stinkers in 3 near the very end of the run. I ended up practicing the final fights for several hours apiece to try to make them any sort of reliable to win against.

@@masonster1111 Hi this is amazing! Im trying this too. My best is at Miriam in Faith 2 but I was wondering if I could get some tips on ALU? Im dreading this fight as I always fail to find him right on time and my soul would be crushes if I ended up killing Lisa
I think this is the first time I've seen someone acknowledge the Demons option. It'd be nice to see what this is about soon.
Right? Whole reason I did this was cause I was morbidly curious how the game would function without demons, if you could actually turn them off.
Same with needles. I haven't seen anyone turn it off.
@@shen_valor Yeah...you know I've been wondering about that one too. I assumed it was to censor the depiction of used hypodermic needles, but if that's the case then it's weird that Faith 2 wouldn't have that, since there are needles in the Candy Tunnel. No clue what or who "Dyna" is either.
@@masonster1111 Disabling needles shortens a cutscene in part 3 in which the cultist stabs John with a syringe (at 39:20). Instead of showing the whole thing it just cuts to John being stabbed (39:23) skipping first three seconds.
@@TheAngryStudios Whoever Dyna is, they must have had a terrible time playing the final DLC of Bioshock Infinite. Thanks for clearing up that mystery :)
Well done!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm why jyat a comment in 5 years?
I have a couple of tips for you. 1.) Try to shadow dodge through his throwing-knife attack. This way you can normally get a hit or two off of him before he does another attack. 2.) Try to pogo off of him whenever he does the lunge or the 3-hit attack. 3.) If you're close to the boss when he starts the downward-spike move, jump and pogo off of him. If not, don't try to get closer to him. Just jump and make sure you're out of the way of the spikes. 4.) Don't get greedy, and don't push yourself into the corner of the stage. 5.) Steady body is usually a good charm, but it's not really useful in this fight. The same goes for dashmaster.
