It has caused some controversy...

@michaelowens5394 i can imagine, I'm sure people would like a verse at the end about Grace. And certainly we offer the gospel to those we sing imprecatory Psalms against. But I assumed that in the midst of the lyrics because we are Christians. The assumption is, if they don't repent, and should the Lord not save, then may just judgments come against. Nevertheless, many Christians would read the Psalms and find what they believe to be unchristian themes. May the Lord grant repentance, May the mighty Lord extend his kingdom, may we boldly proclaim the gospel, and also boldly proclaim the Justice and right judgments of our God against those who rage against the Son.

Right on. I hope many other Christians write imprecatory hymns, until we can reflect as much of the truth as possible, as clear and balanced as possible. We are out of practice.

Ah, interesting; what lines were you looking forward to? Yeah, I specialize in obscure music. I wish these had even 1% as many recordings as certain hymns like "Be Thou My Vision" that have thousands.

@michaelowens5394 oh i meant the stanza u skipped as a whole i was looking forward to. Its extra refreshing to hear about Gods justice and holiness for me.

I skipped 6 stanzas. Just curious if one in particular was meaningful to you. In any case, I hope you can sing all the stanzas now that you know the tune!

AKA I thank you so much for this exceptionally compiled collection of wonderful songs. I think it will be a force now, in the time over Christmas, which I unfortunately am alone. The combination, vocals and grades will certainly help me to get along very well, also play many of these heart-warming Christian songs on my recorder and to be able to sing them little by little. OR I THANK YOU SO MUCH for this extraordinarily curated collection of wonderful songs. I think it will be a strength for me now, during the time over Christmas, which I unfortunately spend alone like every year. The combination of singing and notes will surely help me to manage very well, to play many of these heartwarming Christian songs on my recorder and gradually be able to sing them as well.

Well, I should confess.... I was irritated at all my choir directors who ask for ridiculous pronunciations like, Don't say "birth", say "buth"; don't say "it", say "eet". Have you ever sung in a choir? It's silly. I usually just ignore them, but that evening I had just come home from choir practice thinking, "I'll show her! You asked for it!" It was really petty, and I regret it. I should redo it.

Very sorry, I don't have the ability to record David Erb's Psalm settings because they require a piano. And then I'll record those because no one else will. My main reason for recording songs is to show you what they sound like. If someone else has already done it better than I could, I have no reason to.

@@michaelowens5394 Well, you have done other recordings of his music, and as I think they are of better quality than his, I prefer to listen to your versions, and you do have a reason record your own version! But what's SATB?

Thanks! I sure appreciate the compliments. :-) SATB means Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass. It's shorthand for "four-part harmony". I have recorded all of David Erb's music which I have arranged for four-part harmony. I will eventually arrange and record all the ones in the Treasury. But for now the only Treasury Erb's I've recorded are the ones included in SATB (Psalms 122, 125, 131, 133 & Fear of the Lord). The rest (24, 29, 82, 93, 117, 121, 127, 134, 149, Beatitudes, Yet I Will Rejoice), I'll do eventually. Meanwhile, I hope you listen to his recordings enough so that you can sing them yourself. That, after all, is the goal of my recordings and of his.

Possible, yes. Is there anything about my recordings which would make them superior to the many great recordings of LSB 420 and 666 already free on RUclips? If so, I'll do them. If not, I need to allocate my time wisely between the songs I'd like to record. Thousands of songs have NO recordings available.

One of the glories of the magnificent tunes in the Genevan Psalter, is that they are effective at many different tempi. Over the centuries they have been enjoyed fast, slow, very fast and very slow. Thank you! Yes, most of what I record would take more than usual repetition to learn. But people can learn it effortlessly just by listening. I'm not sure what it means to read solfege. I thought that was a method of instruction. Can someone enlighten me?
