New subbie. Great tutorial, although im pea green with envy over your gorgeous fabrics. I watch the hoarders show, too, when stuff starts piling up in my craft space, which is my bedroom. Ha. These would be pretty in the bathroom, too. I live in America, and we put pretty tea towels on the oven handle. I had two pretty vintage tea towels on mine. Told my son not to touch them. I always do any leftover dishes in the sink before bed and wipe down the counters so i dont wake up to a messy kitchen. I got up on a Saturday morning and the kitchen was a hot mess. Dirty pots in the sink and ... OMG ... both of my tea towels were piled on top of the stove and had grease stains and tomato sauce. Turns out my kid got the munchies watching a movie, was cooking something and it boiled over. He also had made bacon and thats where the grease was. They were both ruined. That was 2 yrs ago and im still mad. Ha. Great tutorial, Patricia

So I cut it up to make 8 placemats and a long table runner. It is a dark blue covered with white stars. I used a cotton red and white strip fabric to make the bais trim to go around placemats and table runner, plus 8 napkins.

I love this top/ dress because it could be either depending on the hem length. It ĺl looks so nice on you. I took home economics in high school. My teacher taught us to read through the pattern and imagine doing the sewing in your head. It's hard at first but gets easier each time. So I sew everything I make two times, first in my head then on my machine. How long have you been sewing because you are doing great.

First video I looked at for removing the partly worn original pvc covering on the cabinet doors, mine are unpainted, and I have a heat gun so if it comes off as easily as yours which I think it will then that will be great, then they will prepped maybe to spray in a plasticote colour or see prices by pro restorers (under £20 per door I think, don’t know if they strip them for that price as well though) or so cheap if done diy. but 100s for a total kitchen reworked is better than into multi 1000s 👍 Good informative video you done there 😃

I enjoyed your tutorial, every now and then, throughout my life, I attempted sewing. Had an old machine given to me, couldn’t get it to work, everything would get knotted up. But I was determined so…… I thought it must be this old machine, I’ll treat myself to a new one and I’ll be able to make all my clothes…… couldn’t complete a single line of stitch, things coming unthreaded, things knotting up, machine seizing up. I would put it away for years at a time and then pull it out and try again…. I finally just passed it on and I know it’s getting good use. As for me, I’m all thumbs, green thumbs that is, I’ll stick to gardening. Have a lovely day, anyone reading this.

At about 28:50, when you were asking about ‘clipping the corner,’ whenever I’ve had to do that it’s usually at a point where I have to sew around a corner turn, or where several panels come together, so I just put a small cut in the fabric so that the fabric will lay more flat over itself rather than if it had to fold onto itself (which makes that particular area bulky). Is that what you were referring to? How did that area turn out for you? I couldn’t see any major bulky spots when you tried it on… And by the way, it turned out adorable! Tunics are some of my favorite tops to wear, so I love this project! I may just have to go hunt down the pattern for myself. And my favorite spots to get fabric to reuse is local thrift stores (I think you call them ‘charity shops’ over there). Thanks for a great video 😊

Hi Victoria. Your dress looks beautiful. I think that I'm going to have a go at that pattern. On the pattern piece for the bodice, is there a dot in the angle, where the front dropped section meets the upper bodice part? You would usually clip from the angle, to that dot. So that the front seam and gathered waist seam fit comfortably together. I hope that I've explained it ok. I'm loving your videos x

@Avotts sounds fun, and that will be amazing sewing everything from scratch. A whole new wardrobe that is planned from the beginning sounds great. The pattern I made _ video is the blue checked apron dress by dottie angel (a few months ago), would make a great apron style, too

Loved your video, I’m tempted now to get out my sewing machine to have a go, I’ve not used it for about 40 years. All my old sewing patterns are from the 70s, will need some resizing lol. I used to make all my clothes and I loved it, I’ll need to have a look. I love your chatty style and showing each step of your progress, brought it all back to me. Looking forward to seeing your other projects. Thank you 😀

Consider adding ties to the sides that tie in the back. That would fix the baggy problem and make for a cute addition to the pattern.

New subscriber here. I really enjoyed your video and I am inspired to hunt out some pretty duvet covers to try new patterns with. I am also tall, so lengthening patterns has become a way of life. I usually use the lengthening line on the pattern otherwise it can throw the proportions out.
