Nissan Cube CVT Fluid Change + Filter
Decided to tackle the CVT Oil + Filter on my 2009 Nissan Cube Z12 today! It's my first time doing this, but I wanted to show the process and share that you CAN do this yourself with the right parts (one of them I didn't have but explain in the video). If you have any questions, feel free to comment and I'll do my best to answer them :)

Wow, what an awesome grill, it sure looks good and much better cooling!!

Good video, cheers 👍
Hi great Video. I have 2013 Nissan cube. Engine great. 55,000 km. Imported Japan now I QLD Australia. Gear box issue. Chasing gears when pressure 2000 to 3000 Rpm fluctuations…. Where are you located? Dipstick is tiny..no markings on it. I will bet parts as per your video and get my mate to do what you have done. Any suggestions..? Cheers Wendy
Thank you
se que el enfriador de aceite de trasmicion tiene un filtro tambien
'promo sm' 🌟
BTW my airflow selection cable s bad. Any idea?
What country r you?
There are rubber wheels you use with a drill that will make quick work of stickers/adhesive, and it's generally safer for paint if you keep the rubber clean
GOOD job👍
thank you 😊
hey bro. car batteries should never go on the floor. put a little bit of wood or something under them when you put them down 👍
No
Ignore this outdated advice.
Thx Good work
3m makes releasing agent for this and weather strip adhesive remover
Ho, can you share the link or place from you get the oil? I cant find it in amaz
Id love to know how this transmission is running with the low viscosity fluid please????
Thanks Jordan, followed this step by step, although mine is a Z11 so took me a while to find the CVT dipstick 🤣🤣
❤️🇯🇵🙏🏼
He used no cloves....
You must be a white boy, is not mandatory to use gloves, don't be girly
What about the fluid stick in the cv transmission cooler?
Love the Cube videos I have a cube myself and this is helping me a lot! Tryna get a VIP style for my Cube!
👍
I got the NS2, cylinder-type filter, and pan gasket at our Nissan dealership in NJ earlier this year. However, the dealer couldn't get the flat metal filter. NP was able to clean with dish soap & reinstall. Also had a new pan gasket but the old gasket was good. The job was easier than I thought. This was for a 2011 Cube second cvt 80,000 miles 2 drain & refill plus recent at 77,000 miles all filters inside replaced. Total mileage 178,000. Thank you for sharing your video. Capacity changing all filters 4.3/4 quarts. What pisses me off is the Nissan dealership in the States doesn't recommend or do the replacement of the filters inside only drain & refill! It's like they wanted the CVTs to FAIL!
Nissan are still doing both fluids Ns2 and Ns3 The Ns3 is speced for the latest downsized transmission and while some say the Ns3 is backwards compatible I personally would NOT use it myself 😮
Why are they still manufacturing both fluids if they are both compatible is my thinking 🤔
And, like I said, before the guy that rebuild our CVT transmission he told us to use NS2 only & wrote on the receipt.
I agree 👍 I wouldn't be using ns3 in this transmission it's a lower viscosity fluid than ns2
Also, my Nissan dealer parts rep told me to use NS2 only he wouldn’t recommend using NS3.
hi, where to buy the plastic seal?
oh, that's a metal seal??
Hi, wanted to know where did you order all the parts from?
Yes, did this on my 2013 Nissan cube, made a big difference. The previous owner had also put 13 large reflective stickers on the rv mirrors, both bumpers, door jambs etc, took hours of tedious work to remove them. Looks great now. My lovely Nissan cube named 'oink'.:) Thank you for your helpful video.
How many litres of oil do we need to refill?
7.5 Quartz.
… but then you need let it out the overflow until you have the exact amount. Requires being on a level surface with the transmission at the right temp.
@@marks_02 Jordan's 09 Cube has a dipstick like many Cubes.
Hi mate how long it takes for the shipping? Planning to buy on this site for my cube
Hey mate, thanks for the video - it was a godsend when fitting BCs to my Z12 Cube! Gotta ask though, did you ever experience any knocking from the rear? I preloaded the springs and torqued all the bolts down to spec, but when hitting any sort of bumps on the road there is quite a lot of knocking coming from the rear. Car handles amazing, but the knocking is quite unsettling!
Good jobs 👍#DIARYCUBE
Wow what a difference! Looks great
Thanks! Yeah it definitely cleaned up the front end 🙌
Great editing! Quick question, what size were the bolts on the pan and screen?
Pokémon!
😊😊😊😊😊
May I ask where can buy the filter and gasket ?I'm live in Brisbane
I had to go to the Nissan Dealership and ask their parts service to source them for me. The one I got it from was Von Bibra Nissan Ashmore/Southport
Just checking, who did you hear from who said it’s ok to use ns-3 fluid? Im about to do this myself and don’t wanna mess it up.
I've dived through a bunch of forums but also there are a couple local mechanics who have cubes that suggested this!
You´ll probably be ok to use NS3 , but Nissan doesn´t think so . NS2 has´nt been discontinued.
I wouldn't be putting ns3 in your cube my friend and ns2 is still available there for I doubt it's a good idea to mix them
Don't use NISSAN CVT crap fluid. Use Amsoil which holds up better to the heat.
I imagine you put way to much fluid back in my friend 🙄
Yep, I bet he did. There's a ton of fluid left inside that valve body.
What did you use to clean it degreaser?
For the pan? I didn't use any chemicals, just a paper towel!
brake cleaner works
Thanks!
No problem ✌️🙌
Thanks man👊
Thanks 👍
