Rural Kingston Recycling with Glenorchy GenV #71090
Decided I'd try and capture something a bit different to start the new year on the channel, this has been something I've wanted to do ever since I started uploading. It was a bloody pain in the arse to film but worth every second of it.
I semi grew up with this collection area so I knew the route off the top of my head and jumped straight to it. I filmed the last bit of the garbage run with this truck and went off to film some other trucks elsewhere whilst he went to tip off, nothing much interesting out so after a bit I headed back up to the quiet roads to wait for 90 to return which didn't take long at all. There's a stretch near the beginning that goes for a long way but with about 15 b...

Lindisfarne Boxing Day Garbage - #SL00991 Ex Whyalla
Просмотров 25614 дней назад
Went up on Thursday to see what the boxing day collections would be like in the Wednesday area which is one of the biggest area's Cleanaway cover. I specifically came out for this truck and the slight hope of finding the spare Series 2 cause the rest of the fleet is just Euro 6 Ivecos. I did first film some garbage and recycling with a 29m and a 35m as I wanted some recycle content. I got bored...

Thursday Collections - Big Bertha & Devonport Gen6 (#71097 #71168)
Просмотров 553Месяц назад
Crew started bright and early that morning so by the time I got out there at about 7:45am most of the garbage was already done by the 3 trucks picking up in the area. I wasn't sure what to expect that morning, so this was a nice surprise actually. At this point I knew very little about the new trucks, just that was an 18m Isuzu getting about. (Did not know where it was from or that 169 was also...
Afternoon Recycling - #71169 Ex Devonport City Council FX Series Isuzu

Jumped at the opportunity to film 71169, means I now have footage of both ex Devonport Isuzus. A few months back, Veolia purchased 2 Isuzus of differing specs from Devonport City Council to add to their southern fleet. Needing new vehicles but being held back by 12 month wait times for new vehicles, they took the opportunity to cop these two little low kilometre units. I am unaware what Devonpo...
FOGO - 71097 & 71066 Running At Idle

Something a bit different for FOGO. The 25m Volvo was primary whilst 66 came to help out at the end of its run. 66 is looking pretty sad now and I doubt it'll be around much longer. They turned the auto rev off which makes me think it's about the be taken apart as planned, it also has a different 5 hole rim at the front. Now that 64 is here in the same state of sadness, I wonder if they brought...

Was hoping to capture this truck again this morning on garbage, but I am happy I got it on green waste as I know some people love the greens collections. Only downside of greens is there’s often not too many bins out and 71 reached weight limit about 3/4 of the way through the area so 112 came and finished off the job. Truck goes pretty well with the heavy bins, hopper slams with the bins full ...

Finally got the opportunity to film 71! This truck came down from Devonport a little while ago to join the southern fleet. It still has some characteristics of the northern trucks such as its original GenV grabs (all the Cambridge depot trucks have UG-6 grabs), the vehicle number on the side is in a different font and size, and the Veolia signage on the tailgate is much bigger than on any other...

Thanks mate! Was pretty stoked to be able to film a bit, came way earlier than I expected. I reckon it broke down somewhere as a Veolia ute was snooping around the areas it had dropped oil, did notice the missing mudflap 😂 Saw it coming back from sorell yesterday at 4:30pm which I thought was bloody late for them. Just 95 for garbage which seems to be almost full time sorell, though I did see it in recycling in Kingston recently for the first time in a long time. Finally saw 71 on recycle as well 😂 ruclips.net/user/shorts7eY4eeN8sxc?si=QFqLqfma5n3IVc9H Cheers!

This is bloody awesome mate! Love the more rural collections! - it so much harder than in a suburb but I'm glad you got it mate! 90's been unlucky with the dings and dents compared to some of it's sister trucks, looks a bit tired. Looks like when the bumper was bent it might've taken out the headlight as well, or maybe that was replaced for some other reason. I've always loved the higher positioning for the number plate, almost makes the truck look cheeky. Funny we had 70 in Glenorchy last week with one of the drivers you've filmed in Kingston, but who moved to Glenorchy for FOGO for a bit I think. Might've been the bloke who comments sometimes but I didn't get a great look. Love the echo at 3:50 too mate! I love how these trucks each end up with their own character as they age. You can tell 90, 92 and 93 apart by the sound alone. Great video mate - cheers!

@@TassieGarbo thanks mate, it was well worth it! Sure does, has some rust spots and signs of a hard life. They all seem to have some random differences like that, 92 has no front logo and 114's signage on the tailgate is in a slightly different place. Ah yeah, haven't seen 70 in a while. Have you seen the bloke who used to drive 112 in one of the other Spaks still? Cause he doesn't drive 112 anymore. Heard a couple of bins in the distance that sounded like gunshots 😂 I love that too, you can tell 94, 95, 96 and 97 apart from the sound as well. You can almost tell every truck from their sound. Cheers mate!

Nice mate! Great video, always amazes me the people who don't read descriptions haha. Great camera work as always. Not a huge fan of the JJs compactors, I think I would've had to grow up with them to like them more but that Acco is pretty cool! I hadn't heard that Veolia had got this contract until I saw the comments. Cheers!

    • @wasteintasmania
      @wasteintasmania 14 дней назад

Cheers mate! I know, they usually answer most questions you have 😅 oh well. I think I have to agree with you there, back in the day when I would see them on RUclips I would always skip over the video because I really was not a fan of them. Nowadays I don't mind the look of them but they are a bit boring to watch and don't seem to have the best hopper design, tend to pack out pretty quickly. Certainly prefer the Acco as that still looks and sounds great and has some history behind it, but these new Volvos have nothing really going for them. I didn't know for a while after because the council never mentioned it anywhere on their website or facebook. Does make me think that some if not all of the Ivecos might start to disappear soon. Might be why Veolia needed a few new trucks quickly, JJs shouldve sold them an old Acco or two, not that thats something JJs does, they seem to keep their own equipment to themselves. Cheers for the comment mate!

Bloody Awesome video mate!! Apologies I'm a little late to commenting, been quite busy with the end of the year as you could imagine, Really enjoyed this one, good to see some dennis spak action from you, and something of cleanaway, little bit different from the usual Veolia uploads. I quite like this truck, although not really a fan of the bull bar on the front, the nice simple cleanaway branding on the sides works, and it's even got the older mud flaps which was cool. Quite a few 80Ls I noticed, they can be a pain at times, Favorite clip would have been 6:38, really good angled shot, nice scenery around these parts by the looks. Keen to see the other uploads even if they are pretty much all the same truck. Well done on making the trip out there, it's motivating me to get my lazy self down to Moonee Valley next week for some cleanaway action of my own haha, we’ll see how that turns out. Cheers.

@CitywideGarbo thanks for the comment mate! Not a worry, been a busy week that's for sure. Thanks mate, was definitely good to upload something a bit different for me. As far as I am aware, there's only footage of this truck in Tassie, 990 was filmed in PAE but not this one. I agree with you on the bullbar, doesn't really suit the Dennis cab, the way it sits makes it look like it's about to fall off as well 😂 I do like Cleanaway's very simple and generic signage, I don't like how for some contracts they paint the bodies blue still but the signage colours don't match at all and it looks silly but the plain ol company signage looks good. I was quite surprised about the older mudflaps, I wouldn't mind betting they're off an older truck. A bit like how Veolia stuck old Suez mudflaps on some newer trucks they bought interstate. Yep, plenty of old Nylex bins and newer Sulo bins but like merri-bek. A lot more new mastecs now though because they don't buy Sulo lids anymore so you get a whole new bloody bin 😂 Thanks mate, it's quite nice through there. A bit different to the built up areas full of housing places and old rentals. Cheers, I'll get those out in the future, just Stralis' but still fairly interesting nonetheless. Got some footage of the 35m on recycle which is something you might be a bit more used to 😂 no more 18m action since Veolia got the boot. That would be a good trip actually, wouldn't mind seeing some more Moonee Valley footage, prefer the older trucks they used to run but still would be more than keen to see the current set up. Thanks for kind words and a happy 2025 to you mate, cheers!

Well Here I am, Apologies it's taken me a while to watch & comment, just been really busy with the end of the school year and holidays starting, but I’m here now, better late than never I suppose. Very good video, Definitely 2 of my favorite trucks that veolia has there, 168 was good to watch, the small bins slipping around in the grabs. The arm looks a little slower than 169, and it looks a bit longer also, or maybe that's just me haha. 097 or Big Bertha was good to see in action again, the clip at 12:00 was a highlight, showing the full truck in the frame which was nice to see. This is their only 25m, correct? Cause the Facelift acco is a 29m I believe. Quite interesting that they had so many trucks in the same area, normally here we'd have one truck in each area still out after 3pm 🤣 Keep up the good work mate. PS.
