Our mission in the Miami University Honors College is to foster rigorous academic inquiry in a community of learners through innovative teaching and learning, an engaging interdisciplinary and research-oriented curriculum, creative and critical inquiry with talented faculty, and diverse leadership and service opportunities. The Honors College is an exceptional and intensive research-focused program guided by Miami’s most accomplished faculty. Honors College students complete rigorous, scholarly curricular requirements, produce a thesis or major project that meets the quality of publishable or professional work by the time that they graduate, and pursue at least one experiential learning opportunity, such as study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, and/or community service. The Honors College offers unique courses, Honors-exclusive study abroad programs, opportunities for faculty mentorship, and an enriching residential area in which students can live, learn, and lead.
