I wonder how much of Peter's emotional problems were due to the women in his life.
The label was right.
Let’s see the Sound Scans for the millions lol
ⁿ
"Ace probably won't talk at all" *Wheezing*
I hate Peter
with KISS, there's the "me, me, me" stories of the 4 members. then there's the stories that are the truth from the proverbial "5th member of Kiss".
Peters was my favorite.
he kinda looks like Les Gold ----and this story telling is SO REFRESHING to hear his side-WHO CARES IF HE IS GAY HE IS A BUSINESSMAN!!! and a good guy!!!
Awesome how even though Peter is having a serious Coke party, Bill doesnt bash him!
What a crock of shit. Whoever wrote or dreamed this up needed to be fired. That guy didn't contact Bon Scott any more than I did.
If the interview was true to the notes Snyder got from his producers and Gene and Paul answered all the questions, it would've been the most boring rock and roll interview of all time. Thank God for Ace.
This is great man. Thank you.
He was a monster
Bill spoke well, but you can still hear the Yankee in his voice.
That laser eye effect sounds pretty cool.
Eric Carr was a great replacement
The 3 stanley songs and 2 simmons song on this album are crap aces 3 and peters 1 are great.......but i got worms
I like Eric Carr on Creatures and The Elder. After that he kind of drifted. He never even came close to having the feel of Peter Criss. Eric could rock but he could not roll.
Paul Stanley would buy dresses.
For your mom
Great job from the pilots. Only for Kiss !
Only one original Catman. I have met Peter and he is a true gentleman.
We have all seen the footage. The Mayor / School teachers / School kids / The footballers etc ALL In Kiss make up ! NO band in the history of rock n roll has ever had such an influence.
Without Bill Kiss would not have been. He went broke financing the band in the early days. He persisted !
I don't think Gene and Paul have forgiven Ace for that Interview, despite their honeyed words and all the publicity hoo hah in recent years. In short reunions it might be fine but I really think Gene and Paul resent Ace for always getting more positive attention than they get because being approachable and"down to Earth", which seems funny referring to Ace, just is not their personal specialty or in their arsenals. Anything long term with Ace just is not possible because Ace will always steal their thunder.
He lost his voice in LA because of all of the coke available there in the 70's
paul likes doing stuff with his butthole
Ace had the balls to tell Peter to his face. Gene and Paul were cowards
I love this!
PHENOMENAL hearing a different set of stories other than from the fellas themselves.......from someone who was there from the beginning........real refreshing!
No, Bill, Dynasty didn't sell well because there were too many returns. The album was pressed with a thinner vinyl that quite a few people's tone arms (mine included) couldn't track properly on. I took that copy back and got another one that did play, but there were others complaining about the playability of the record. And they weren't warped. One trick shared at the record store I picked mine up at was people were placing a penny on the tone arm.
I remember having 2 copies of Dynasty that skipped alot.
I never heard that before. Wow!
Penny on that Fisher Price tone arm
Fraiser Crane?
Ace is the best trout player in Kisstory!
"Oh, did we mention that there would be music in this fabulous production too? As long as the guitars don't interfere with the wires and pulleys..."
they didn't need to replace peter.....eric was great but peter was just as good...
honestly the drumming on dynasty would have been better with peter drumming.......literally no difference in his drumming...
After pre-production and rehearsals were completed, Vini Poncia (who had produced _Peter Criss_ ), decided that Criss' drumming was substandard, an opinion shared by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. By this time, Criss was hindered by injuries to his hands that he had suffered in a 1978 car accident. Kiss hired the South African-born studio drummer Anton Fig, who played on _Ace Frehley_ , to play on the Dynasty sessions. "On _Dynasty_ , Peter was pretty much out of commission," reflected Stanley, "so I wouldn't point to it as a classic Kiss album." With the exception of his song, "Dirty Livin'", a rewrite of a song of the same title demoed during his pre-Kiss days in Lips, Criss does not appear on the album, and he did not perform on another Kiss album until _Psycho Circus_ in 1998. Tom: "I got a little piece of pipe backstage id like you to work on" Ace: "Tell me about it!" LMAO funniest line from the whole interview
Ace made the interview a lot of fun to watch
Ironically, that Dynasty show in Atlanta at the Omni that Bill Aucoin is talking about was my very first concert I attended at age 9 years old with my best friend and his parents, 2nd row, dead center.
Awesome! MSG July '79 was my 1st - same 9yrs old as you. Isn't it great being able to say KISS was your 1st show? ....I was in nosebleed balcony about 3miles from the stage, though! At least we were in the rail and had a good view.
these are classic stories? more like boring bullshit,if this is the best Aucoin can muster,he must be a boring fucker
Acefer
Paul was afraid it would damage his eye.. What a fuckin pussy.
Big Bill has my respect! Entertaining smart and cool as a cucumber dealing with some very big egos and at times delusional man baby rockstars
I love the Bill Aucoin stories and they are definitely worth listening too. KISS would be nothing if it wasn't for Bill Aucoin and the forgotten Sean Delaney.
If you want the unvarnished truth and not the "Book" hyped nonsense stories,.. listen to Bill.
“Actually I’m a plumber. “
Best line ever
Ace stole the show. Period.
One of the greatest moments in television history! xoxo The Clarences
ace rules!!
No Ace = No Kiss !
ace rules!!
Oh Gee Beth didnt belong on the lp BUT Great Expectations should LOl whatever Gene/Paul
