The Sun Was Always In The Sky In Lowell Massachusetts
The is an original song called "The Sun Was Always In The Sky In Lowell Massachusetts," and it the 7th installment of my Born And Raised In Lowell series.
As I've warned in the past when posting recordings, I'm not a singer or a performer. I simply have words and a guitar, and I use them to paint pictures for the mind. Maybe you have space in our head to hang this one, maybe you don't.

I wrote this song a couple years ago and kept it to myself because I'm not much of a performer. I do like to write, though, and enjoy sharing my creations with others. I use the guitar and my amateur recording capabilities as a means to share my writings in audio format. Thanks for listening! Copyright 2015

Wrote this song back in the mid 1980's and we play it in a misfit band we had. We were never really good but we passed some time and had fun doing it. The lyrics speak for themselves.

Copyright February 3, 2014. I initially began writing this song to share some common memories with folks from my hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts. At some point I realized that the song was as much a statement about the human penchant toward war as it is a walk down memory lane. Anyway, I'm not a signer or guitar player. I just like to write and it just so happens that I sometimes us a guitar ...

Mike thank you for your song and thank you for posting this. Like the song says if you were born and raised in Lowell you know what the song is about. After 15 years living away in the Boston area I'm making plans to be back home right after the first of the year. It brings you back man

And now it's just college kids and faded remnants of it's past. Used to love this sh.thole. Now it's cleaned up and made safe for the yuppies who are gentrifying it.

My family lived at 524 Westford St. 1980-1996...before that, 798 Pine St. 1969-1973 Attended Morey School. Mr. Abraham was Principal then.
Another Lowell landmark was Price's Bakery on Chelmsford St
I did not grow up in Lowell, but I was fortunate enough to spend several Summers there as a teenager, with my extended family who did.. This brought back so many memories.. Roller skating at the Hi Hat.. eating pizza at Lowell House and George’s, buying a “tonic” at Acre News.. and playing on the Common until the lights went out.. Even jumped the fence and swam in the pool after hours once..(🤫🤐) Thank you for the wonderful memories.. 💙
Thank you for the trip down memory lane. Grew up in Pelham but Lowell was the place to be. It had everything. Was hoping to see a picture of the Lowell Drive-in. Spent many a night there. Great job putting this together. Thanks again!
