It's a HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR.... We get things wrong... Plus it's in another language. Get the stick out of your Butt My choir is at a collegiate level so don't knock it until you've had as much training as ALL of the STUDENTS in this group.
Get over yourself, people are entitled to their opinion, so if anything has something to stick out of their butt, it'd be you. And guess what, I didnt like it. You guys were too soft, and the leading vocal has a weak voice and sounds like he's scared. Go cry
I'd like to see you do stuff like this. This choir has done Mozart's Requiem and rocked it. Not many high school choir groups can achieve that. One of the issues with this song was that the lead vocal is quiet but you can still hear. Honestly, this choir, that I am very proud to have been a part of, is one of the best in the state. Don't expect perfection when it can't be achieved from someone other than the original artists themselves.
Wow, what kind of argument is that? "I'd like to see you do stuff like this."? I dont have to show you nothing. Plus, you want me to do a choir performance? Can you please those cells you have in your head before throwing out random butthurt comments? I heard so many choirs, so many covers, I know when I hear something good, and when I hear something, in my opinion, isn't good. Your whining won't change that. The entire performance was weak and your subjective opinion you make based on the fact that you are in this particular choir doesnt change anything. With those stupid arguments of yours you'll get nowhere. And no lol, you are definitely not one of the best ones in the states lmao.
Heather Fuson "I'd like you too do stuff like this" is a weak and desperate defence. It's like if you went to a restaurant, ordered the steak and got it as a cremated piece of junk with withered dying vegetables as salad. Then when you complain the chef goes "I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU DO BETTER". While ignoring you don't have to culinary school to note that the steak is shit. You don't have to work in the film industry to say M Night Shyamalan made a travesty called "The Last Airbender".
I admit that the lead vocals were quieter than they needed to be. I also never said that we were the best in the states as I know that we were very far from that. We competed in statewide competitions and won awards for our performances, but I'm not saying by any means that we were the best. I was honored to be able to be a part of this choir for the amount of time that I was in it. We performed Mozart's Requiem and other pieces like that as well as this number. Not our best, by any means, but at the very least we had a blast performing.
I had so much fun in Mr. Seaton's Choir class my freshman year. I still utilize ALL the things he taught us. =] Miss you Thomas by the way.

@153harmony It's not "Yetu" as in "lay" either. It pisses me off. It's "Yehtu". American pronunciation I swear...
English speakers don't even try to pronounce other languages properly, without English accent. It's "yetu", not "yatchou"!!!

I'm currently doing this song in high school and overall a pretty good performance, but the pronunciations weren't really all correct in section B where all females have the words and also it seemed rushed. This is a gorgeous and fun piece to do no doubt but the tempos can't be effected. Also the dynamics need to be a little more drastic. Everything was really good. The men really held their own in this.
