There is an old saying in my family:
"Thou who art Undead, art chosen.
In thine exodus from the Undead Asylum, maketh pilgrimage to the land of Ancient Lords.
When thou ringeth the Bell of Awakening, the fate of the Undead thou shalt know."

Metal Gear Should Not Be Forgotten
Outro Music by @AniPiano
In this video, I'd like to take a step back and look at the origins of one of the most beloved and intriguing video game franchises ever made: Hideo Kojima's very own Metal Gear. Released in 1987, the original Metal Gear tells the story of how Solid Snake became the legendary soldier we see in Metal Gear Solid.
Join me as I break and down Metal Gear piece by piece and see what makes it tick and what ingredients were there to establish such a renown series. Of course it has its issues, but Metal Gear is one title that must never be shoved under the rug.

Popularity ≠ Quality | The Case of Concord, Dustborn and WuKong

Outro Music by @AniPiano Within recent months, it feels as if the gaming sphere has become less and less about the craft and more about player retention. Games that are fully servicable in their own right are being slandered for not constantly being focused on or talked about with 100,000 of players day-in-day-out. Pair that with an increasingly hostile culture war reguarding identity politics ...
The Very Normal World of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Fan Games

Outro music by @AniPiano The medium of anime has seen some 'interesting' fan-made content to say the least, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is no different. The story of the Joestar family with their signature powers cannot escape the clutches of passionate fans with their own unique ideas. While sincere efforts to contribute to the franchise exist and have carved out their own niche, the dark depths ...
What about Smoking in Video Games?

Outro music by @AniPiano Intro music by @adturnup3296 While most games do their best to replicate our own world to some extent, one element of reality that goes unconsidered is definetly smoking. While I certainly do not endorse smoking to anyone, its a part of day to day living that game designers seem to sweep under the rug (Although it's rather obvious why). From a simple aesthetic to a key ...
The Spongebob Game that the World Forgot
Просмотров 1,5 млнГод назад
Outro music by @AniPiano Spongebob is a massive franchise, not only financially but culturally as well. With countless episodes, a few films and a backlog of games too, only a few of the big, fancy entries into the series get even a passing mention online. One game that is sorely underrated has to be the nostalgic PC games that came out in the early 2000s for Windows XP. For this video, the hid...
This Cat is OBJECTIVELY the Best Cat to Exist!

Outro music by @AniPiano Some people pray to Gods, some adhere to ideass I give myself....to Uni. With a gorgeous coat of fur and adorable little legs, this goofy creature has been my fixation for quite a bit now. And who could blame me with a smile like that?! In this short, very amatuerish video, I go into why this cat is OBJECTIVELY the greatest cat to ever possibly exist with no nuance or r...
Why We Love VRChat (And why you should too)

Outro music by @AniPiano Whenever I think of my favourite video games of all time, I often think of VRChat. But with the absence of enemies, combat, a narrative or characters, what makes VRChat so great? In this short, slightly amateurish video essay, I intend to answer this very question! Whether you live in Virtual Reality or have never picked up so much as a controller, I hope to tell you to...
I barely remember this game but so many of the scenes and sound effects make me feel like a sleeper agent heing activated
Idt they meant the models to be terrifying but seeing him criticize the game for being silly with its designs and smaller details is like throwing away a donut because it has sugar in it.
Forgot I played this game
Does anyone else remember SpongeBob's Next Big Adventure? No? Just me? Ok then... :'(

Bro mermaid man and barnacle boy hitting lines at the pub 😂😂😂
My oldest brother got the ps2 version for my other brother and I and i remember playing the ever living hell out of it. Cant remember how many times we beat it and how many family parties all my cousins gathered around in our room to take a turn. Also very difficult for a kids game
WELL WELL WELL, LOOK WHO IT IS. ALEX BALE 1:57
I had this game as a kid. It was a really novel thing to be able to walk around and explore this world that I’d seen in cartoons. This one, the movie game for ps2, and battle for bikini bottom for pc. I miss being a kid and being mesmerized by small things in games, like little background details, sound effects, and ui things like menu buttons and cursor models. Ah, good times. Edit: Also, chapter 2 reminds me of StarCraft, with its eerie otherworldly vaguely threatening atmosphere
This unlocked a part of my brain I have not journeyed to in a long time. Wow, thank you sir.

The poster of sandy is CRAZZYY. 😂😂
I have this game on CD wtf
I prefer the flash spongebob games like "Flip or flop" or Dexter's lab "Bot Brigade"; simple games but were truly gems of my childhood.
This game looks like shitttttt
I never forgot this game. It was always my favorite SpongeBob game on PC and I kept trying to remind people of it but all anyone ever talked about was battle for bikini bottom
I remember playing this as a kid! Ooooo childhood memories ❤❤
I don't know why, but listening to Patrick smack on that sandwich in Chapter 3 always made me hungry as a kid, and for some reason, it's making me hungry now. I'm going to Jimmy John's!
You must have missed the encounter at the beach parking lot, a guy who has salmonella. Yes, I actually remember this from when I was a kid...
God, I LOVED "Employee Of The Month" as a kid, I should try and find my old copy.
Yeah I don't remember any clues that you had to call Jennifer to open that door
One of the greatest!, solid snake better than big boss and story kinda died after 4, love rising tho ❤
The world may have forgotten but I never will
I actually like that animation style it’s so creepy and feels like a creepy pasta :3
Its a bit to late to mention this but that statement about Wukong supposedly released to streamers to not mention stuff straight up never happened. I hate misinformation that is so easily debunked.
Might I suggest UnMetal, it’s perfectly captures the spirit of the classic Metal Gear games and then some.
what a great video !
One of the hostages tells you that Jennifer will open the door. You only need to be on the same screen as the door and call her.
this game is beautiful
I remember it tho. This video is useless.
I'm happy to have played the original MG extensively back in 1987, seeing the franchise being resurrected on next-gen console years later has been one of the best moments in my life. I might even buy an old PS3 at some point just to be able to try MGS4, since it's one of the few installments of the series that I missed out on. So good in so many aspects!
Yeah you should play 4
That actually sounds pretty reasonable if she spends time barefoot. I’m certain they scanned the bottom of her boots and that’s not any different. It seems like that would serve a purpose Now the fact that they must have scanned her crack is something else since the camera feels the need to zoom into it every time you get in the chopper
this guy does not know what mugen is 💔
Clicked cause orange cat profile pic, subbed cause good metal gear content and cause you've convinced me to give mg1 a shot
2:50 mgs 1 2 3 were group projects. Thats why they are so good. Since mgs4 he had full control and every game since then has flaws.
Are you diarea johnny?
Is no-one gonna mention that thats not even comic sans? My guy is getting my favourite font confused with calibri
This was thee actual game of my childhood when it came to PC 😭
Hah funny this got recommended, I purchased the collection last month and are playing through them for the first time. I did all the VR missions first to practice, only to get dropped in the main game and realize none of it mattered. Everyone literally is just a pawn on a chess board. And yeah definitely, it's very anti war. Absolutely love it
14:30 AAAAAHHHHH 😭
I wouldn't start a series on the fifth numbered installment. Glad you enjoyed the games though 😊
Not everyone wants to play a 20 year old game
@Solaar_Punk would you start the Harry Potter movies on the Deathly Hallows? Jumping into a series at the end pretty much guarantees you won't understand the story.
man..imagine if they did a remake of metal gear and metal gear 2 on modern systems
an idea better than remaking mgs3 without kojima
What the hell was that intro
Mgs is godly, and I’m no lifing Delta the second it drops
Ever since I played OG metal gear on the PS3 collection I’ve been addicted to it and I have fully mastered it…takes me on average 1:30:00 to beat it and never get any alerts or game overs.
When you can't even say, my name
1:01 ayyy i partied with one of these guys and the another grew up around me
Man, *every* Metal Gear (Solid) Kojima took part in developing is a masterpiece in its own right. The OG Metal Gear practically created *and* popularized the stealth action genre long before not just the concept for Splinter Cell was born, but before Ubisoft even came to existence, while also doing a fairly good job of environmental storytelling, though at the time the possibilities in that regard were quite limited. Then MGS1 did it again, effectively introducing the world (or rather that part of the world that didn't even know MSX existed or what it was at all) at large to Solid Snake - the man, the myth, the legend. It also seamlessly blended serious espionage and conspiracy theories with Kojima's unique sense of humor, though it took GMan's observation for me to finally realize that moniker Solid Snake is in fact a dick joke - it just didn't register in my mind that someone would do something like that. And every subsequent installment in the series did something extremely cool, like introduce Raiden, or finally introduce the OG military legend Big Boss, and MGSV, however rushed (I refuse to believe it was unfinished, it looks absolutely self-contained and finalized to me, not to mention there's not too many bugs or glitches, and Fox Engine is a phenomenal masterpiece on its own, like my laptop's integrated GPU, albeit it's an AMD one, handles all the reflections and lens flares no problem, while giving me honest 60 fps at worst), and making the game open world paid off quite well if you ask me, though you don't have to play it like an open world game, and the inclusion of the possibility of playing MGSV more like a traditional episode/level based game was also an ingenious move. Every. Single. Game in the series is a masterpiece, and it pains me to know that there most likely will not ever be another original MGS game anymore. It doesn't matter if Kojima himself made the game - after all, he's more of a supervisor figure with a high-level perspective, but his oversight is crucial. The game doesn't have to have Solid Snake, Big Boss or any established character at all imo, it just needs to be well made and have some top-secret globe spanning conspiracy and mind-bending plot twists, with a touch of childish dick joke humor, and it would do well. Come on, dude made a *literal* WALKING SIMULATOR and it was hella fun and people loved it. Give the man a little time to cook and he'll bake you a tray of absolute deliciousness for you to lick fingers for the next decade.
You're absolutely right, I agree with everything you just said. It is a shame that we may never see another new Metal Gear, but I don't think I need one. I of course want the masterful gameplay and story, but when it really comes down to it, Kojima finished his story. Based on your comment, you've probably played them all, but spoilers ahead, just in case. Metal Gear is the birth of Solid Snake, and MG2, MGS 1, and MGS2 develop his story while also introducing Raiden. MGS3 tells us how all of the future events were set in motion. I consider Portable Ops the beginning of Big Boss becoming a legend and a leader. Peace Walker shows Big Boss grappling with his past actions and coming to grips with them, while also sowing the seeds for Metal Gear. MGSV leads right into Metal Gear, ending the saga of Big Boss and leading us right back to Solid Snake's story, but with a much better understanding. Finally, MGS4 is the conclusion to both Big Boss' and Solid Snake's stories, as well as giving Raiden's story closure. Metal Gear Rising serves to give us a glimpse of the future, as well. I do want more Kojima-grade Metal Gear more than anything, but I'm very grateful that he got to conclude his story, what I consider his magnum opus, and a true masterpiece.
4:05 I think it has been said that Metal Gear Solid has a lot of elements taken from Metal gear 1 so you're not wrong
Metal Gear Solid especially redoes a lot of the specific elements and story beats of Metal Gear 2, which was a massive expansion on the (more simple) template of Metal Gear 1
