Build a Welded Rod Fish Pond Cover DIY
Build a Welded Dome Fish Pond Cover
I needed a child-safe and predator-proof cover for a round fish pond. All my efforts to find a commercially produced cover failed so I decided to design and build one myself. All I needed to do was to design a cover, purchased a MIG welder and rod roller, and learn how to weld!
The video includes images of the design process. Happy to answer questions!
The MIG welder was simple to set up and I used RUclips videos for training.
I hope the video inspires others with Benign Essential Tremor to take on new challenges despite the difficulties.

This one was not as it was too young and was being raised to be released. I painted a portrait of a cockatoo once that was toilet trained. It always flew to the back of its chair and crapped on a piece of paper. It respected property better than some humans.

I have old Freinds here that have Identified 132 different Birds along the river by sight and sound. Other than imported Sterling's who lately are very good at red wing Black birds calls . Nothing comes close to The Layer bird. My hands tremble pardon the typos 😁

Nice footage Stephen. I am now posting videos of the semi-tame lyrebirds of Dorrigo National Park under the heading Lyrebird Diaries. There are four of them who are approachable and I have copious video of them over 2 years. I am fascinated hearing lyrebirds from other areas as to how much their calls vary from place to place which seems to be due not only the birds in their environment but also local traditions as their own calls (at least 6 regular or common ones) also vary, identifiable as their common call but very variable. This is a very experienced bird which can overlap sounds and has a large repertoire, things which take years to develop., Love this fellow.

Thanks, Stuart, I'm working my way through your videos. Nice job! This is very early in my video learning curve. This is shot with a 7D and now I also have a 7D Mark 2. I would have moved to an R 5 or 6 if not for having to succumb to the Adobe blackmail and update Lightroom and their pay forever terms. Some questions if you don't mind. What are you shooting with? Did you take a look at my Lyrebird-click video? Give me a call if you would like to chat Lyrebirds. See my web site for contact No.

@@PowellStephen Hi Stephen. I was originally shooting with a Sony RX10 Mk iv single lens ultrazoom, but got frustrated by it's limitations. I needed a light camera and my DSLRs couldn't be held steady cause I had to shoot off the screen so I invested in a Canon Legria video camera. I can hold this to my eye or support it on a monopod. I got a Rode microphone to mount on it which really improved the sound though the built in mic is OK. I am working under rainforest canopy and the video camera is really good in a poor light which the Sony camera wasn't. Very tricky dodging round undergrowth, vines, lawyer vine and thorny vine but it is so rewarding to get good video of these amazing birds. Yeah, Adobe, like Microsoft made everything rental rather than buy outright which is all a real rip-off. I'll get in contact later when I find space. Cheers.
