Britannia was acquired by K1 Britannia to be used for maritime education, charity fundraises, and a whole range of charitable causes.
K1 Britannia's is to complete the rebuild of the vessel to the same standard and specification of the original, and to reclaim the history of this iconic vessel.
She is now being stripped and prepared for her refit at Venture Quays in East Cowes. Upon completion in 15 months time she is purposed to be used for a whole range of charitable causes. Her overal length will measure 52m with a staggeringly tall 55m mast, the tallest wooden mast in the world!

From Wikipedia The replica Britannia was towed to the South Boats yard in East Cowes in 2012.[5][6] The Trust invested in the scaffolding, cradle, tools and workmen required and work began on the final stages of the Britannia build. This came to a halt in 2014 when the Southboats yard was declared bankrupt. In September 2018 the K1 Britannia Trust announced that it is to build an entirely new replica. This decision followed surveys of the existing replica and a full scope of the work still to be undertaken. The conclusion was reached that in the interests of sustainability, the new replica would have an all-aluminium hull and keel, a keel-stepped carbon mast, box boom and bowsprit, carbon continuous rigging, and a hybrid propulsion package.

George V is so handsome even in old age
I am always surprised at the slings used to lift sea going craft where they have been known to slip and the craft slides out often to costly repairs, especially when the two slings are not attached to each others lower end.
" *Often* ", under what definition do you claim that? (I am not being facetious nor cynical, merely intrigued.) 🔸As a percentage or odds, how frequently does a "...sea going craft... slip and... slides out..."? 🔸Is there a common reason why they have done so? 🔸Is it primarily a human, materials, or process issue/failure?

Is the ship still under construction? It is a magnificent vessel.

I understand that the hull was rotten. She is/was sitting on a mooring off Hythe in Southampton - The Russians build boats out of poor material which doesn't last. Some people lost a lot of money

Scuttling the hull was a stupid thing to do. Typical British fuzzy thinking: romantic, nostalgia, poignant, meaningless. Almost all British bad decisions over a 100 years would have been reversed by a panel of American college students.

Can someone tell me the name of the soundtrack?
What is the definition of "rebuilt". This is not Britannia, it is a built-from-scratch replica. Not even a faithful one: "with full modern amenities". I fear this yacht is going to live a life of being misrepresented to the young. What else can "come on board and be part of her history" mean ? Incidentally...how more clearly can we see the incredible selfish arrogance of kingship, than in her royal owner's decision to destroy her. How did the craftsmen who created the original vessel feel ?

This has to be one of the most annoying videos on RUclips. The frantic editing and playing with special effects is completely out of synchronisation of the voice over. In the end the only piece worth watching was the historic film of the original yacht.

I am proud of my Great Grandfather Lord Waring who owned the J-Class yacht White Heather II which raced with the Britannia and is seen on this video. K1 Britannia is a tremendous project.
