Omgoodness! My stepdad tried this on me….when I was 11 years old. My mother left me at home with him while she was out shopping with her favorite niece. I was outside playing, my step day called me and informed me I was sudden punished. I go to my room, I’m uneasy because something doesn’t feel right. I’m at my door contemplating how I’m going to escape if he tries anything with me. I hear him call my name, I walk to my door. Creep my head out the door, and start moving out my room to get to the stair to run. As I’m moving I see my stepdad in bed with no clothes on and he’s massaging him penis! I ran out the house and didn’t go back until my mother returned! I never told her, but she would check me in the middle of the night throughout my childhood!

Learned Behavior. Sounds like the women in the family suffered the same fate and normalized it. So they didn't see anything happening was wrong.

This is COMMON in families. COMMON, not the occasional blooper. And families cover it up and actually vilify the victim for exposing the perpetrator to anyone outside of the home. It is statistically verified that home is one the most dangerous places for women and children. And, I know that in black families this is rampant and the aunties and grannies will nearly always protect the assailant. The only justice the victim gets is when they get older and report what is clearly a crime.

Whether we like to hear about it or not. One of the ways in which freedom comes is from forgiving, the other is through giving your life to the LORD JESUS & letting Him heal the depths of you. The devil is evil & some people keep listening to him when he tells them to do bad things. Holding a grudge does nothing good but destroys you. Releasing a person is when you release them by letting go of the grudge, forgiving. That is a true release, & giving the LORD the situation, letting Him do what He will. Unforgiveness doesn't make things easier.

You are giving too much benefit of the doubt to the parent. One of the hardest things to do in life is go no contact with your parent. It literally takes decades for most people. The "manipulative" children are a very rare exception. Maybe you're trying to give equal attention to both sides of the story, but in this case it's unwarranted.
