I'm Belgian Rail and I make trainspotting for more or less two years now, but I've always been passionate about trains. I always wanted to share my hobby with you which is the reason why I started a channel.
My channel is based here in Belgium but sometimes I go to other countries when I'm free to see different trains.
My videos are posted every Sunday at 8 p.m. and a short video every Wednesday at 12 p.m., with a few exceptions.

Variety Of Trains At Ottignies - 27/06/24
🇬🇧: An incredible sunny day spent at Ottignies station. This was my first time visiting this station after a year and I have noticed very big changes. The S61 trains that do Wavre -Jambes are now only done by Desiros (AM08) since the AM “classique” have been replaced and gone for scrap. The IC 24** are slowly starting to circulate as M7 trains. Finally, the station platforms have evolved into a higher and more modern look on the west side of the station. In general, the trains seen in this video are freight trains coming from Antwerp and heading south to Luxembourg or France and Intercity and regional trains heading to Brussels. I see more video's on youtube which say trains are running 200 km/h on this line, but the vMax = 160 km/h. Besides the TGV type and ECI trains, most trains are maximum capable of 160 km/h
No. Not fully correct. In some parts of this line the max speed is like 140km/h until you get up to around Haren-zuid or Diegem. Then the line speed increases to 200 after Zaventem, where trains like the m7, HLE 18 or ICE can increase their speed up to that limit thanks to the ETCS safety system the line 36N. Line 36 is limited to 130 if I’m not wrong. They slow back down to 160 to pass Leuven then continue back up to 200 on the HSL 2 to Liege.

Je comprends la frustration mais c’est pas la peine de dire que juste à cause de ça vous n’allez pas du tout voyager avec le train en Belgique. Je suis d’accord que les trains SNCB sont mal entretenus quand on parle de tagues mais appart ça c’est des trains assez fiable comparé à d’autres pays. 😊

The station is called Profondsart, situated near Ottignies between Ottignies and Brussels. ;)

hi Is there a elevator for both the platforms at the station. I came some 7 years back but I can't remember , I wanted to bring my mother to Hergé Museum but she uses a wheelchair so it will be good to know if there is a lift ?
Hi, sorry for the late answer but after coming to this station recently several times I am not aware of any elevators in the station. However if you come by bus, there normally shouldn’t be any steps until you reach the Hergé museum.

Ik wist niet dat Deurne ook een station had om te spotten hoe kan ik op deze locatie komen om te spotten en waar moet ik dan mijn auto parkeren/ is het gratis parking of betalend
It’s a 25 minute walk from Mortsel Oude God station and a 15 minute walk from Mortsel. The spotting area is parallel to the Leemputtelaarbaan. From there you’ll se a small grass uphill. Hope it help

Yes they do! The Nightjet comes from Brussels and goes to Vienna via Liege, which is why it’s seen here near Liege

200 km/h il ne faut pas exagérer non plus. Sur la 36/36N c'est 160 maximum (déjà très rapide)! (Les HLE18 et M6/M7 aptes au 200 km/h ne peuvent réellement l'atteindre que sur la LGV 2 entre Louvain/Leuven et Ans)
En effet, les trains atteignent actuellement 200 km/h sur la 36N!
La vitesse maximale de la L36 (les 2 voies extérieurs) est de 160 km/h tandis que celle de la L36N (les 2 voies intérieurs) est de 200 km/h, c'est-à-dire que les convois aptes à 200 km/h (à la condition d'être équipé de l'ETCS) peuvent rouler à 200 tandis que les autres convois aptes à une vitesse inférieure sont directement limités à 160 km/h s'ils roulent en TBL1+ ou bien que la vitesse de 160 km/h soit imposée s'ils roulent en ETCS. J'ai également spoté à Zaventem et je vous confirme que les trains passent bien à 200km/h, la différence avec ceux roulant à 160 km/h est flagrante !

J’aimerai ajouter en plus que les vitesses jusqu’à 200 km/h commence avant la gare de Zaventem sur la L36N et termine avant Herent, où les trains doivent redescendre à V160 avant de passer par Louvain. Ce que je trouve marrant aussi c’est clair à la vue de l’oeil (la difference entre 160 et 200 km/h.
