Make sure it is square. Tape down all 4 sides with masking tape or similar tape. Cut the spline to size for each side so you have 4 pieces of spline (2 long and 2 short) Start with the longest side and roll the spline into the channel starting from the center out to each corner. Do the same thing for the other longer side. You may need to *gently* tug a bit on the screen during this step to get it tight - but not too much. Then do the shorter sides the same way - roll in the spline from the center of the side out to each corner. First do one shorter side, then the other.

That is a very large window and while it's technically possible to make a screen that large, it's very difficult to make one that has tight enough screen without bowing in the sides. You can add several crossbars to the screen to help prevent the sides bowing in. Good luck!

Good question! Crossbar alone might be enough but you can try using 2 books/weights - one on each side of the crossbar. If it's a larger screen, you might need to do this, but on smaller screens I doubt you'll need to.

I assure you this video is not a joke. There is nothing funny about the assembly of solar screens. I wish people would take it more seriously like you do. Thanks so much for your concern.

Great point Bryan. But I believe it's the drilling holes in the vinyl that voids the warranty. Putting a solar screen on the window without altering the window shouldn't void the warranty. That's why at SolarScreenOutlet.com we have multiple ways to mount solar screens to windows. Casement clips is the most popular, but it's not the only way and often not the best way to mount them. Fiberglass screen is a regular insect screen. Solar screens have a tighter weave and are made from PVC-coated polyester. I hope that helps!

Yes to both questions. They are meant to be installed on the exterior of the home or building as they perform better there. But they can go on the inside if necessary.

It actually is if you carefully follow all our tips in the video. It typically takes about 15-20 minutes to assemble and a install an average size solar screen.

It's pretty easy to cut with any sharp object, but if you were in an emergency situation, you could probably just push on the screen hard enough and it would dislodge from the frame. Cutting it would be more efficient though.

If a screen in an aluminum frame keeps you from getting away from a fire then you deserve to burn.
