Should also use a PSU tester of some sorts that measures the voltages. If you have done everything right it will measure 3.3v, 5v or 12v. But if one if your pins are in the wrong location then it will not read the correct voltage and thus you know you have made a bad cable.

They should make prototyping tubing like they do for custom car headers. I think that would make the whole process a lot easier.

Hey bud can I ask you a quick question. I'm looking for a custom sleeved 12vhpwr cable for my build but I can't find the one I want anywhere although I have some extra cables from the pack I bought for my cpu and motherboard cables. I was wondering if it would be possible to remove the color cables that I want from the leftover 8pin cables that I have and then use them to replace the regular cables on the 12vhpwr plug? Is this possible?

Mate, common, whats up with the misleading heading. When a person puts up a post such as yours that says "Install a Custom LCD Screen for less than $100" people are thinking that your going to do a proper presentation that covers how to install a custom LCD screen. Ive asked around my mates to ensure that my reaction / expectation wasn't just me just having a bad hair day before posting this. I rarely ping people for little mistakes but because there seems to be a ever increasing trend toward putting up a post with a heading that's sure to get people sucked into going over and taking a look only to find out it either had nothing to do with the heading or barely reassembled it. Now once or twice a day is annoying but it's getting damn annoying primarily because its a waste of people's time and sometimes money. That said, a subject line stating that its about installing this custom LCD screen. Expectation being that I was going to be shown from start to end how you install a little LCD so that you can monitor in real time those readings coming from your PC, such as temps, speeds, and just about anything you think you would like to have access to without the need to cease doing what you're already doing and having to dig up that app or apps just so you can get a look at how your system is running. so when I see your title stating that it was about I actually got a little excited because it's been something I've been wanting to add to my custom PC build for a while now but there seems not to be a great deal out there on RUclips. I admit that I haven't finished watching it all as the most important parts I was hoping to see were simply not there. Now I don't know if you covered them but for some reason decided during the edit phase of putting it all together to leave them out or it was simply that you didn't cover them because they were overlooked. Whatever the reasons, most viewers hoping to see what you stated in your title would have been dissapointed, some (judging from the comments) didn't seem to notice that there were critical parts were missing)...... you dont know what you don't know ;-) Anyway mate, Id like to believe that it was purely a honest oversight on your part and never intended your subject line to be a tad misleading as ive watched a number of yor presentations and enjoyed them from you. As you can imagine there are a number of people who intentionally put up misleading or sensational headings to draw people in so that their site gets more people in and the ever watching RUclips algorithm doesmt only sees the amount of people coming into your site. Anyway, this is just a thought. Please take a moment to think about whatt your presenting and if what your actually dooing actually forfills your subject line. I think many feel it fell well short of what they were expecting. Its not a criticism but more a friendly critique. Sometimes creators like you and I arent aware that we havent fully provided the information we were expeting. I hope you can take it onboard as a friend to friend simply pointing out something that others havent been bothered to do. We all need friends to sometimes let us know we have strayed off a little. I hope you take this as its intended and not a hostile criticism of your work as most of it I have quite liked. Thats why Ive taken the time to send this to you. Your friend and yeah a fan of your site. Keep the great content coming. Cheers and beers Brett from Oz

as a finish carpenter i can tell you what happened.. your using the wrong type of rule for you measurements ... the rule your using has a a blank spot that you butted into the baseplate before the graduations begin.. then when you layed our your blocks you forgot to add that to your measurement, you needed to butt the rule into the block instead of starting at the 1mm mark. very easy oversight

Love the video, I'll be creating some video's when I build my first custom loop in a month or so once I have all my components. Great job tho, I also like how you showed your technique & explain your reasoning for things. I'm a OCD perfectionist & 100% understand how you feel, I'm constantly creating jigs & tools to create consistency & my eyes pick up on every little imperfection & my brain won't allow me to accept it if I know it could be better. It's 2023 and I still want a monitor like this, except in 240Hz. I've been using a 120Hz TN panel with no issues for years. IPS glow does bother me so I'll probably stick to TN until OLED prices become reasonable. The dream for me would be a 240Hz, 1440p, 22-24" OLED, but we probably won't see that for a very long time. I agree with your points in that TN panels aren't bad at all and that viewing angles aren't a problem the majority of the time. The only thing that's holding me back on this purchase is the 165Hz over 240Hz, because I use monitors for many, many years. I'll still try it out to see if it's worth dropping from 240Hz to 165Hz since I mostly use the desktop these days. Thanks for the review 😊 P.S. Would you still recommend this monitor in 2023?
