Spoilers: In the end he turned into silver butterflies and died for his god for the 3rd time. After that, Xielian waited for him back 800 years later same as Huacheng did before, he met Huacheng again while he setting up lanterns for his only beloved god. He keeps his promised to Xielian that he will come back again.
