Just a guy wanting to keep cars on the road without going having to go to the dealership. And document the adventures and mishaps along the way.

2009 Lexus GX470 Foglamp Assembly Replacement
Our adventure today we replace the fog light assemblies on a 2009 Lexus GX470.
The old lenses have become oxidized over the past 15 years and we are not quite ready to restore them. I received some amazon gift cards for my birthday last month. So I bought some replacement housings for a quick upgrade.
I will be testing out some headlight restoration kits in a few weeks to restore the cloudy and faded headlight assemblies along with the original fog lights but that will be in another video.
This isn't a very tough fix at all. One 10MM bolt, an electrical connection and a quick tab squeeze are all it takes to pop out the old assembly and slide in the new replacement.

Today we do some maintenance on the 2013 Toyota Tacoma. Our drivers side (left side) fog light has rusted out and the reflector no longer works. Wow! I didn't know that the GX470 didn't have seat bottom tilt on the passenger side. Color me surprised.

Can you please tell me if the BlueDriver can provide live transmission temperature data in your GX470? Thanks!
My BlueDriver is about 3 years old. I do not see that as a data point on my device. I believe that there are other bluetooth scanners that can with the Toyota data pack (I have seen them sold as an add-on). I am not sure if the current blue driver has this capability or not. I can see it on the xTool though.
It does not include trans temp nor TPMS; they say they are working on it, but not now.

If you are looking to do tuning this is probably not going to do what you are looking for. It has limited functionality to adjust sensor voltage ranges and resets and possibly some stored values. But full programming of the ECU/ECM/BCM/TCM .. no.
Do these tools do any good on 2003 Chevy trailblazer w/ 4.2 engine
This tool will let you dig into a lot of the subsystems in the Chevy. Even the HVAC and Radio

Tip of day: 100$ xtool A30D will do same job as D7 in this case.

D7 300 dollars on ali. Quite same thing: A30D is 100 bucks.
Yes there are a number of decent units that can do the same. Glad to see the price come down.
The A30 Series arent able to create keys. That feature alone is worth the $300....
Thanks for the vid, When I go to purchase a YZZD3 Oil Filter it says that part doesnt fit my 03, Is that a mistake or does my 2003 take a different filter than a 09?
You might want to check a different seller. The 90915-YZZD3 fits most Toyota/Lexus V8 from 2000 to 2009 and a few V6s as well.
