great video - love the python solution - was using the power query bit64 formula but it was cutting off part of the image. your python solution worked. Thank you Sir, respect to your name.
Thanks for the useful video. The 'total risk' shows zero in table but the zero is not displayed in the matrix. What is the reason? Thank you
Hello 👋, this is because I used conditioner formatting for font color. Whenever it is zero it will have the same color of background color
nice one!
Thank you!
Followed all the steps but whenever I click the "Table" for "df", it says "This table is empty". How do I solve this?
Tried watching...music was too annoying. Looking for another video
Hello 👋 apologies
Great video but how do i identify the unique ID# to the plots?
Hello 👋. You can either use any field (for example hyperlink field) of the Polylines entity in Autocad 3D map to store any value for each Polylines and when you export make sure to select the field you used along with the exported shape file. Or simply you can make AutoCad to assign unique IDs for each plot, check minute 3:50
This wont work with live connection or directquery mode only import ? thank you
Hello 👋, it should work whether you are using import or direct query
Any advice on stopping the matrix from adjusting column/row counts when you apply filters? For example, if I want to set up a filter to filter out risks assigned to certain team members on the report page. At the minute the counts work but the matrix reduces in size which isn't ideal.
Hello 👋. If you create a calculated table like the one in this tutorial and followed the same steps, you should be able to maintain the structure of the matrix even if you don’t have values for some of the cells
@@NextGenBIGuru I did it and the matrix still loses its structure when I filter something specific. Can you make a video about it? For example: If I select some item at "Risk Category" list, it will undo the matrix and will not show the correct number in the matrix, it will show the sum that was shown before I filtered.
Great video! However, I realized that I can have up to 60 columns concatenated. There is still limitations from PBI, I assume: The function 'PLACEHOLDER' encountered a Text that exceeded the maximum allowable length. Are you aware of that or is not the best practice to do this?
Hello 👋, yes there is limitation. For long PDFs you need to divide them up into sections or pages. To get a better idea, check out the below tutorial: Elevate Your Dashboards: Power BI Techniques For PDF Content Search | NextGen BI Guru ruclips.net/video/dU_wgeuPE2g/видео.html

Hi thanks Alot dear for this , I would like to know please if you can advise If I'll connect the pdf files with the main dashboard For e.g if I have a sales pie chart on the main dashboard and I'll click on it then sales details in pdf will open Please advise if there is an option for this , would really appreciate
Hello 👋, it is possible if you manage to link pages to your data. You need to develop a data model that against each row you have page reference. Check out this tutorial, it might give you some ideas: Embedding PDFs In Power BI: Visualize, Search & Highlight Techniques | NextGen BI Guru ruclips.net/video/J0nprINRsw8/видео.html

Could you display 3d shapes (similar to a 3d pdf and rotate then) ?
You can do 3D extruded shapes. But it will not give you much flexibility to work with 3D detailed shapes. For reference check out this tutorial: Boost Your Dashboards: Engaging 3D Maps In Power BI With Mapbox - 2024 Guide | NextGen BI Guru ruclips.net/video/6vvfVyw8ZmY/видео.html
Why to geolocate the shape if you never display the geolocation map, anyway to activate that as a base map?
Hello 👋 - Yes you can change the style of map you are using from Mapbox
Sir, can you make the starting part of this video easier to understand?
Hello 👋, please start with this tutorial: Power BI Magic: Transform CAD Drawings Into Dynamic Dashboards - P1 | NextGen BI Guru ruclips.net/video/Kixp2gsgkzw/видео.html
sir can you make more villas related videos
Hello 👋. This solution will not work for detailed structure like villas.
Thanks sir very informative video

Any idea on how to get rid of the 5k row limit? My snapshot has over 5k rows and I will break "Your 'Apply to each' action is encountering an error because it is trying to process more items than the maximum limit of 5000, with 5903 items being passed. This issue arises from the query results returning too many rows. To resolve this, could you consider filtering the query results to reduce the number of items returned, or perhaps implementing pagination to handle the excess items?"
Hello 👋🏼, you can do something like pagination by creating 2 workflows instead of 1. And filter your query through a field you intruduce to you table (calculated column) with values like “Page 1, Page 2,…”
This looks great. Excited to give it a try.
Hello 👋, glad you found it exciting.
Thank you so much ❤ it works for me, however the texts are not clear enough even after zooming the contents
Hello 👋, you are welcome! Probably the type of PDF is scanned this is why. Usually this is related to the input PDF.
Hi, thank you for the awesome video, very informative. Please how did you add the score column to the Risks Status table, that section happen to have been omitted and my formula isn't working as a result
Hello 👋, you are welcome. Did you download the PowerBI file? It has all the formulas. You can find the link in the description
@@NextGenBIGuru Thank you! seen and downloaded please disregard the email

Excellent, easy to follow demo. Thank you!!!
You are most welcome. Thank you for your feedback
This is fantastic video!!! Thank you so much! Can you please show how to create custom visual with GPT insite? Also would be great to learn if you could create charts with GPT prompts within Power BI service
Hello 👋, thank you for your feedback. It is still a little challenging. However check out this tutorial: How To Create Dynamic Visual Timelines In Power BI With HTML & ChatGPT - Complete Guide 2024 ruclips.net/video/ge53J1hGHwI/видео.html
Can I create a button in html and linked it with a bookmark?
Hello 👋, buttons within HTML visual in PowerBI won’t work with the current versions
Hey Great Video helped a lot, just one thing i am not able to get the Zero's in table as zeros are not there the rows and columns are hidden, what could be the possible reason??
It means there is no data available for all the data. You need to make sure to have values for all fields. Null values won’t show replace them with zeros
@@NextGenBIGuru Thanks a lot.!
Thank you for this, it was just what I needed. One quick question, though. When I want to add two different fields from two different lists, do I have to compile them into one in order to do that? When I tried, it only showed me the fields in the list I created the HTML code on.
Hello 👋, yes they need to be combined.
Outstanding 😮
Hello 👋 . Thank you!
Custom visual links doesn't work on Power BI such as mailto:.. Instead of using custom visuals they should add rich text format in text box and maybe they did my version is bit old
Hello 👋, you are correct. They do have enable link option in this visual but doesn’t work as expected. In my opinion, it is a bit a lot to expect from PowerBI to go to this extend, it should focus on presenting the data in dynamic and interactive way, and not to act as a front end platform.
Great! but how does it work with RLS to the same threshold for all users? Thank you in advance.
Hello 👋, what a great question! Alerts will follow the RLS for the user who sets these alerts. In other words different users can receive alerts at different times based on the subset of data they can see as per the RSL. And remember the person who sets the alerts will affect the threshold value based on his access level to data. To manage this properly one from each group of individuals with the same RLS levels can set an alert
Hey see i am working on a Use case for my project : CRR Tuning. Tech stack : PowerBI, SQL Server (Onprem solution - strictly everything is on Onprem for security reasons binded with a Onprem gateway), PowerApps ( for writeback), Power automate (for dynamic flows/triggers). The Implementation we seek is: To provide the option to end users such that they create and select an snapshot of the reference tables ... to be precise for context we have 2 types of data ... a). reference data of Actimize risk factors b). static data - this is the action item score record wise to compute using the reference data. So here we need to carefully assess how best without any conflict work on a implementation that is scalable and reliable. Suppose they wish to create almost 40 snapshots of the reference data after there wishful changes done to the data using writebacks powered by PowerApps screen. Now the phase-1 is clear that we need to allow the users to have this option of creating snapshots [state of the reference datas tables backed-up as a historical visit or reference] ______ Now phase-2 is to bring these simulation as selected in PowerBI report such that they view the snapshot of static data scores using the reference data at that point of time while saving as simulation1 strictly all the recalculations should be done in sql server using sql queries itself (even the parameterization of queries) if needed. This should be read-only and we need to exit the simulation mode to continue making regular changes. Hey actually we wish to save both the reference data and static data configuration and outputs but due to constraint on storage we are left with storage of reference data itself as at day end the static scores are done calculating using reference data. Hey see the main thing that connects each phase is 1. First the user as usual views our report and makes all the changes in the reference data using writebacks through power app screen embedded as a visual in PowerBI. ---> This portion of implementation is done up and running completely, don't include in our solution walkthrough directly assume that this exists. 2. Now after all the changes are done, they will have an option to click on a button to save an snapshot (again we are not still sure how the data is saved for better retrieval). 3. Now once we have few snapshots created likewise, the end user will use the options and view snapshots in PowerBI and once they select a specific snapshot they should view the reference table data at that point of time ... this should be read-only and why this matters is because the static data scoring is dependent on reference data so new changed reference data means recalculation of these in sql server and updated visuals with new data. So in simple terms when we select that specific snapshot of reference data tables the whole report recalculates in sql server using sql query or inbuilt functionality based the static data scores change as the reference data as been modified with which we tend to calculate the static data scores. 4. This should be read-only and has to be able exit this simulation mode to normal mode where they can edit and continue with the snapshot creation and such. ___ X ___ A heads-up would be for you to learn and master and build some expertise on how to create a snapshot based off multiple tables data at once in one single changelog table corresponding to the snapshot we work. second heads-up being how to load selective data like if suppose snapshot 2 is selected then the data that is held by snapshot 2 should be used in the PowerBI Reporting which is different from our current data pre-selection.
Hello 👋🏼, sounds like an interesting use case. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Hamzeh, I tried to follow same steps as you explained in this video. I am using OneDrive for data storing as you used google sheets. When I am trying to add a row to table using item(‘apply to each’)[‘table[project_name]’] , its colour is not Turning to yellow, it staying as purple. Could you please help in this regard. Thanks.
Hello 👋🏼. I assume you are appending to excel or csv file. Based on your comment above and assuming all the steps are correct, you code should look like this: items(‘apply_to_each’)[‘table[project_name]’]. Make sure the ‘apply to each’ function name is the exact name of the block you are using also use items not item for the function. And replace spaces with _
@@NextGenBIGuruhi Hamazeh, I am able take snapshot of data after making changes as recommended by you, but it is appending only 501 rows but I have to append 21616 rows. Could you please let me know how I can do this.
Hello 👋🏼, you Dax query probably has a TOPN function. So inside this function increase the number of columns to big number like.
@@NextGenBIGuru TOPN function has maximum N_value of 5000. Could you please let me know how I can insert more than 5000 rows of table.
@@NextGenBIGuru Hi - I get invalid expression when using this code ---- items(‘apply_to_each’)[‘table[project_name]’]. I'm using an xlsx on a Sharepoint. Any ideas? Is the code slightly different for Excel vs. Google Sheets in some way? Thank you!
This worked great!! Thank you so much!
You are most welcome
You now can encode base 64 right in Power Query and Power BI accommodates way more than 30k characters in the same column (2 tips right here), however from my experience visuals don't accept Base64 string over 30k characters - what is the trick here?
Hello 👋🏼, the issue is not with visuals not accepting more than limited number of characters. The limitation is with the PowerQuery that doesn’t accept more than 32k characters in one cell. To overcome this, you divide them into many columns then you create a DAX calculated column to join them.
@@NextGenBIGuru Power BI model can handle a million character fields now. 32k limit was removed last year I believe. Just try to import pretty large pdf and check number of characters (I added calculated column with Text.Length). This should immensely simplify handling of pdfs in Power BI (base64 inside Power Query + no need to split and merge columns) but it looks like there is another issue. I would suspect missing prefix for Base64 or quotation marks but small pdfs work so it's something else :(
I recommend taking a look at the chatPowerBI visual (search on Google). I had better results in my use case
Hi, great video. thanks! One question: why are you using .cvs files instead of excel .xlsx?
Hello 👋🏼. Thank you for your comment. You can actually use xlsx too. Usually csv files are lighter equivalent to text files. But again if you are more comfortable with xslx you could use them too
This is Amazing, Thank you so Much Does method 3 work if the Image path is a URL (online links)since am storing the images on the SharePoint(Onedrive)?
Hello 👋🏼. Thank you for your comment. Yes you can, actually you can use URL’s directly without the need to convert to base64. The only thing you need to make sure that the OneDrive or SharePoint folder is public
@@NextGenBIGuru the problem is a business Onedrive, so it is not allowed to make it public That is why I am searching for a workaround to convert it to base64, but till now I can't do it in the way in the video, can you please help me and tell me how to do it with the URL path, not a local path, thank you so much!
many thanks for your increasable content. unfortunately, I used the same steps & same python code, but the result is df table is empty. Could you please help me in this regard.
Hello 👋🏼, did you download the Power BI file and contents? Here is the link to download them: github.com/NextGenBIGuru/ConstructionTimelapse.git Hope this helps
@@NextGenBIGuru yes, I already download the content, but I tried to apply the same steps and code on my own dashboard, the result was empty DF Table.

This is an awesome tutorial buddy is there any ways to add Values which we make calculation in the dax to show as value ? if yes please help

Thanks for this video, this helps me a lot. Can you make a video using a Shareponit folder with the url of the image of the Sharepoint and converting to base64 using the python script. Regards.
Hello 👋🏼, you are most welcome. If you have your images in a SharePoint folder you job would be much easier you don’t need to convert your images to base64. You just use the URL of the images and feed it to the image viewer. The only thing you need to make sure that the folder has is public.
But what if it is can't be made public
great video
Thank you! Glad you liked it
Its really awesome 🌟
Thank you. Glad you found it useful
Hi excellent crisp presentation. I create Power BI reports, but so far was not using Automate, but one user needs forced me to look into it. Just saw your video, and replicated this very similar flow. It worked fine. There are few challenges, if you can help, 1. it skips rows if there is any column value is blank, how to still take those lines. 2. it transfer rows in batch of 100, and between such batch it takes time, can we avoid that? 3. Just for 2400 rows, it took 4 hours, too long? 4. where are the setting to change row count limits? By the way, one of the place is when you copy the DAX query, in query itself, 501 rows were written as TOPN limit, that I altered already. All help appreciated. Thanks.
Hello 👋🏼. Glad you found it useful. For 1 - yes blank rows will be skipped, the workaround is to use replace nulls from query editor with 0’s or any other value. For 2-4 - unfortunately PowerAutomate takes long time to finish especially as the no. Of rows grows, the workaround is to duplicate the flow many times (say 3 in your case) then filter the query for each one based on one of the fields. And let them run simultaneously. Not perfect, but worked for me in a similar situation. Hope this helps.
Great Stuff! I was trying to modify it a bit to dynamically show boxes on left and right based on my column value from the table. For example - If the value in the column = "Drivers" then it should appear on the left side if the timeline and if it is "Restraints " then on right side. I tried chat gpt to add this functionality but its messing up the code. Can you help me out here? Also, one more issue i faced was if my milestone description is too long then the visual shows blank. Appreciate your valuable advice here!

what does your 'ref' column mean and what does it represent?
Hello 👋🏼, this is just a unique ID or index for each row I used it to count records. You can easily generate an index column from Power Query, there is an option to create an index column
@@NextGenBIGuru I don't understand the video after 2 minutes 40 seconds, I am unsure why the ref column is used and how its created using Power Query.
Very Help. Thanks a million for sharing

At 6:03 in the video, you wrote this Risk Status = 'Risks'[Risk Category] & " - " & 'Risks'[Consequence] & Risks[Likelihood] However, you verbally said to multiply which should look like the below: Risk Status = 'Risks'[Risk Category] & " - " & 'Risks'[Consequence] * Risks[Likelihood] Which one is correct as I am passionately building the dashboard with you as you speak?
Hello 👋🏼, apologies for the mistake and confusion, the first is the correct one.
@@NextGenBIGuru thanks for the clarification. I really appreciate. Do you do 1-on-1 training/consultation on more complex projects?
For some reason, after I did the advanced matrix, some cells are still blanks. What could I be doing wrong? I wish I can upload the screenshot below.
Hi! I just resolved the issue. But is there a way to implement control ratings into this matrix?
