It breaks down FAT wayyyyy before it breaks down proteins. It gets the glucose from gluconeogenesis from the glycerol backbone of triglycerides once fatty acids are detached. Alzheimer’s is insulin resistance of the brain, not cortisol damage. Naturopaths 🙄🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Go back to school. It is so cringe to also not specify that you are a doctor of naturopathy (quackery) and NOT a doctor of medecine. You should have ND after your name if you want to use the prefix Dr. Didn’t they teach you that at school either?

Really insightful and i know this video was posted years ago but I am interested in the physical activity aspect. You stated that if you are physically active then no insulin is needed for GLUT4 to transport glucose into the cells, how is that possible? I thought physical activity only increased insulin sensitivity, allowing less for the facilitated diffusion to occur, not that it doesn't need insulin at all. If anyone can help me understand, I would really appreciate it :)

Excellent video. Athough I was a bit confused on the last ratio. My triglycerides were 89 and my HDL was 56 on my last blood test.... for a ratio of 1.58. I was told it should be below 1.5 to be in optimum metabolic balance. I've also read numerous times that total cholesterol is meaningless, but maybe that's not true after all.
