This channel is created for the purpose of understanding both hydraulic and hydrological software usage. I hope understanding as such software tutorial eases the time that would have taken for understanding water resource model software. This tutorial is helpful for researchers, planners and decision makers .
[Part-2] Determination of SPI Drought Index Using SPI Generator, RStudio and Microsoft Excel(PART-2)
SPI Generator
Is a program which is used to calculate SPI for various timescales, Drought frequency, Drought Period.
The program is available in a Windows/PC version and can be downloaded for free.
The latest SPI program (SPI_SL_6.exe), sample fles such as those described below and instructions for Windows/PC use can be found at: #drought.unl.edu/MonitoringTools/DownloadableSPIProgram.aspx
Data Input: At least 30 years of continuous monthly precipitation data are needed but longer-term records would be preferable.
