    Just want to add that the Suntour model has some clearance issues as it's mechanism moves backwards far more than other types of suspension posts! If you have a rear rack; the rear-end of your seat could very well hit it during it's down movement!

    But on the top of that even if speaker is disconnected you ALWAYS can search for nearby BT devices. You can do it in BT menu or by using separate app. I hoped that Apple will come up with something smarter than regular BT. And that notification after tag travels with someone for longer time, it makes almost useless anyway. Actually find my network is a disadvantage over other not so popular networks. In my country is other system that uses network of some navigation software but would be limited actually to my country only. But still can be detected in BT menu or dedicated search app…. So thief all to do is to go 50meters away from any buildings, people and search for devices. Then finding that tag might be time consuming but I don’t think we will have much extra time to retrieve stolen item.

    just got this bike on amazon for $949 CAD. its been about 2 weeks now. still playing around with it. it's my first ebike. i live in somewhat suburbs. there're are somewhat busy trails near me. i tend to go later in the afternoon or evening. so i dont encounter people. cant go during the day coz i work a 9-5. i wish i lived in an area like yours with dirt trails. i have gotten stares. then i heard them say, "oh it's a pedal bike". they were probably thinking it's a full electric bike without pedals and gonna yell at me or something. im mostly riding it on multi-use trails(bikes, e-bikes w/ pedals, e-scooters, skateboards, peds, roller-blades, etc,). the main roads without a dedicated bike lane in my area are too busy and accident prone. so i just stick to the roads with bike lanes or on bike trails and in the inside streets. i have taken it to gravel trails and non-paved wooded area trails. i should have done some adjustments before i did though. i did pump it up all the up to 20psi. i should release some air and bring it down 12-15 psi maybe. the springs on rear/seat suspensions were too tight from the factory. i had to loosen them up to actually feel the suspension on my rear. i had to also calibrate the rear breaks. one of the pads was too close to rotor. even without pulling on the brake, i could feel and hear the brake pad grinding on the rotor. when i speed up, i can hear it squealing. lol i have been thinking of getting a budget e-bike for a while. this one caught my eye coz it looks like a scrambler. which i do like. i do like me some dirt bikes and classic bikes. not really into the sporty looking motorcycles. when i first saw this, it was at $999 CAD. then a couple of days later, it went down to $949. that's when i instantly bought it. lol not a big fan of the yellow. so i swapped the plates underneath the seat to show the backside instead of the yellow logo. thinking of getting some reflective black vinyl to cover up the remaining yellow and line the rims and other parts of the bike. since i do ride mostly at night. i have a lot of modding plans for this bike. lol thinking of getting an additional battery instead of a swapping to a bigger one. that way i can get more usage out of it when i go out without thinking about getting stuck somewhere far from home on an 80lbs single speed bike. lol and the headlight isn't as bright as i though it would be. especially in the woods at night or the distance in dark open areas. i initially though it was an LED bulb for the main and LED strip for the outer ring, but it's not. the whole headlight + outer ring is made up of soldered LED chips on a round circuit board. kinda hard to find a replacement. unless i finagle with it to convert to an LED bulb. or swap it with an actual motorcycle headlight. but then i would lose the horn. and i dont know too much about lighting wiring. lol im scouring the internet for a compatible headlight replacement. even without modding it , it's still a fun and enjoyable ride. working on that courage to actually start riding on roads. but for now, just doing laps around the neighborhood at full speed and multi-use trails.

      @VoltVlog 20 дней назад

      I think I agree with almost everything you said. Not a fan of the yellow. A second and/or a bigger battery would make this bike next level. And yes, the brake cricket! So annoying. Haha. Every bike out of the box I have ever purchased or received have needed brake adjustments. It’s part of the deal, since a bike shop didn’t set it up before taking it home. But I’ve been surprised with how many people don’t realize that is the problem and think the brakes are defective. I’m not a night rider but I could see the light being a problem. I mostly use my lights to be seen. And yes, I always go lower pressure on my fat tire bikes. Makes a smoother ride. One of the reasons I like fat tire bikes. But I agree, this bike out of the box with brake alignment is a fun bike. And I still think it’s one of the best deals on the market right now. Only change Id make is a bit more juice on take off. Glad you are enjoying it. Interested in what light you land on!

    Hoping ebikes soon begin moving toward Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries as they will last much longer over time, and can be charged fully to 100% without nearly as much degradation. Their energy density is also improving each year from manufacturers so they will work great for ebike applications. LFP batteries are also much safer from runaway fires and best of all, are less expensive as well. Everyone should push towards LFP batteries if looking for the longest life over time.

    Also Cadence sensors use more battery because they are always sensing vs Torque

    • @gedofgont1006
      @gedofgont1006 24 дня назад

      Other way round, I think. If you use the motor to get up to a certain speed, on a cadence sensor, once you reach that speed it doesn't take a lot of muscle power to stay just ahead of the motor, because you've already got a lot of forward momentum. Therefore, you'll not be drawing from the battery at all. I use this method on my Bafang mid drive (48v 17.5Ah) and I can easily get 100 miles+ of range on a single charge, with only a moderate amount of my own energy input. It helps to have thinnish tyres, biggish wheels and a pretty stiff frame. I'm 59, 85kg and averagely fit. Long live the cyclist!🎉😅

    Torque sensor may feel like a normal bike to a newbie and would be best for someone going up and down on a forest trail but other than that I feel a cadence sensor wins hands down. You have different gears on a bike to allow you to pedal at the same most comfortable and effecient rate regardless of speed of the bike. If your bike allows you to adjust your pas levels ( like on a Himiway Cruiser ) its really just adjusting the speed the bike wants to go as long as the pedals are being cranked. So if I can do 18 mph in 6th gear at the rate of pedaling I like and I can adjust my pas level 6 to 18 mph then its like cruise control at a constant speed regardless if I go up a bit of hill or reduce my effort for a short time. Constantly having to pedal hard on a torque sensor bike to go fast and its' speed slowing everytime I let up for a moment would be a pain. So I let off for a few seconds, the bike would slow down and now I am in the wrong gear when I start pedaling again. No thanks.

  • @colincampbell4261

    Levels of assistance should be based on power not speed.

    • @kevinmchale5660
      @kevinmchale5660 Месяц назад

      Disagree. Level of pas based on speed allows various pas levels to match the various gears. I can do 21-24 mph without pedaling super fast and my top pas level is set to 21 mph. And on my Himiway Cruiser I was able to match all the pas levels ( the speed the bike wants to go as long as the pedals are turning ) to each of the gears.

Even if she's not up for a bike it will give me a 2nd battery to take on longer rides. So insteat of 35 miles i guess i could go 70 miles between levels 3 & 5 if the bottom will tolerate it 😂😂. It is a safety feature that Apple added a while ago, if the thief has access to a newer iPhone they will be able to find the device. When I was deep in testing last year, it took about 10-15 minutes of the device being with me before I had full access to using find near by. However, I also found that I could change the address in my phone for my home, even if it was just a couple hundred yards from where I picked up the tracker and only a couple of minutes it would also notify me that I had a tracker with me. I didn’t even have to scan to find it. I’m guessing the opportunistic thief might not know, but someone that knows what they are doing (both are out there) can find an AirTag in just a couple minutes. My buddy and I tested it extensively.

      I was pretty much cruising around at 20mph for the majority of my testing. Or at least cranking it out at PAS5. On day 1 I got to 15 miles before I noticed the speed started dipping down to about 10-15 mph, and then mile 17-18 was a slow wind down to 6-8 miles an hour. On day two of riding, I did pretty much the same thing, with a little less hill climbing. I rode mostly @ 20mph and ended the ride at 11 miles. That was about half of the battery life. I did not experience any power loss at 11 miles on day 2. So I'm assuming, based on other bikes I've tested, the average ride will be 15-20 miles @20mph.

    Personally I went with an e-bike with a *full air suspension PLUS a Suntour,* and my back is very happy. Now I'm looking for a better air fork from my spring POS .. so my arms and hands are happy. Also once you have any of these dialed-n and attached to your seat your (#1) isn't really an issue.

    The problem I see with the cadence sensor is that it would be hard to ride it like a bike. If I want a bike that does the work for me, I’d get a motorcycle, since I don’t see the purpose of limiting both your exercise and your speed. If it works for you, power on!

    My Autovos seems to be a different design and I can’t pop it open to get to the speaker? Can you advise me? I can send a picture?

    I started my 10 years of ebiking with BH bikes torque sensor equipped bikes. Then about 3 years ago I added a cadence sensor Ride1up 700 to the fleet. The torque sensor is the way to go if you are riding with the intention of having a good workout or if off roading on a regular basis and need precise control and immediate responsiveness. The cadence sensor is more appropriate if you want to make manage power consumption and maximize range. The only time I feel I have had any useful exercise on the Ride1Up with cadence is on trips where I am out for the day riding long enough to consume most of my battery. Really though if you just need transportation, cadence is fine or superior and almost any budget priced bike is fine. If you want a versatile, go anywhere machine and are a physically active type who can afford a better bike, you will have a torque sensor and love it. This video is quite accurate in its analysis.

    Your a small reviewer like myself, personally the only time recommend cadence is when the person. One has a problem peddling 2 if tne person wants a scooter. Otherwise there is no reason fro a cadence. I have had ebikes for over 20 years and have been helping the ebike community for over 20 years. I cannot tell you how many folks have gotten hurt on Cadence bikes vs torque bikes. Folks get annoyed but we always will be upfront and honest Instant Power 322
