How I built my PVC chicken tractor pt 3
Just bought one of these, thanks for explaining everything well and each of the levers
Great video. What kind of hydraulic fluid do you use. I fixed a line. Need to fill. Not sure what type.
The plug jut below the level plug for the back hydraulic. What is that for? I opened that instead of the level square plug. And it just keeps turning. Won't tighten back in. And it started leaking a little.

Gear oil vs hydraulic fluid ?
Hydraulic fluid
Hydraulic gear oil, for everything , rear end, transmission , power steering
What model and year is that tractor. Looks just like my tractor but I can’t find any numbers on it.
Yours is the first chicken tractor plan with a well thought out lid to open. I'm going to use your plan with the 3xception of I only want it to be about 8 Ft. wide so I can fit it inside a garage or out building in the winter. This will keep it out of the heavy snow of winter.
Glad it could help hope you subscribed

How do I change the hydronic fluid on a 1975 Ford 2000?

I love watching and dealing with antique farm machinery as my dad had old machinery. Sorry but I'll have to unsubscribe. I can't stand to hear music when I'm trying to hear the equipment working!
Watch out for that big bug hiding next to the tractors.
Thanks for the video. Repairing an Ariens Rocket V, all the ignition parts and carb will be in next week. Also have my eye on a couple of these old one wheel tractors, wondering how they are used? Do you only use sweeps for weeding or do they use plows and cultivators also? Thanks for sharing.
Have lay off plows and cultivators
Just use screws to tighten your joints
Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
nice job, What are the size of the tubes?
2 in and 3 in
Great job.
Hello, enjoyed your video have a great day. Donald @moneypit homestead
I love to use my electrical miter saw. It makes sure that I cut straight and it sure is easy to use. Thanks for the video.
Steve, what did you do to prevent raccoons/skunks etc... from digging under?
Have not had that problem
Hi, Steve: Did you have to drill pilot holes into the PVC? Also-- I'm assuming I'll want to use either galvanized or stainless steel screws?
Did not drill and I used galv screws and washers
Sheet metal selftapping
Nice sheepies. We just got our P1 electric netting exactly like yours except we got our in 2 of 100ft. We didn't intend to buy two because we thought the 100ft would be enough for our 3 sheeps and feels that it's too small for them so we end up buying another 100ft...so now we got 200ft totale with the solar batteries. It has been 1 day of working so we don't know how good it is yet till we get a chance to use longer. For now, it is working and serve its' purpose of easy set up and being able to move around for rotational grazing. Thank you.
Dang. This is the best tractor yet. Thank you
Many many ft is the pvc pipe
Thank you for giving this report on the fence. I have been debating (in my own mind) as to buying then premier fence or go with the "old" type electric fence. I have used the older, single strand elec. fence before & feel it leaves a lot to be desired.
Have fun with the new tool!
Looks like a real nice addition to your farm
Thanks
Are you building the chicken tractor for laying chickens?
Yes we had buff Orpingtons just got some new chicks
@@stevesfarmadventure Thanks for the video. Don't layers need a roosting bar to sit on, at night?
They roost on the 2x4s up off the ground and the nesting box
Like the buff orpingtton’s
I've seen this design before....we used PVC drain pipe instead of schedule 40...it's gonna be very very heavy using schedule 40 my brotha...probably outlast the drain pipe
Thanks for the comment got the idea from you
Looks good!

Do you use this tractor for layers or meat birds? How do you keep from catching the chickens' legs on the boards when you move them? Especially for meat birds? My husband and I built a chicken tractor last year during shutdown, 6 x 10, using treated lumber for the frame, then using pvc pipes to make an arch, with two doors, one at each end. I'd love to build another one similar to this one.
I move it with lawn tractor very slowly they will move to new grass as you do
Layers but in 1 month meat birds
I use a 1948 Allis chalmers wd with a sickle bar and bale with a 1950 Allis chalmers roto baler
