Gruppa Kaskad - At Any Cost / Группа Каскад - Любой ценой
This Kaskad song is one of the somewhat underrated, yet also most beloved, for it's clear and impactful lyrics and catchy chorus. Its main theme is captivity under the Mujahideen, and rescuing your brother in arms. This is from the iconic 1989 "Let Memories Speak" album by the band.

Egor Letov - Afghan Syndrome / Егор Летов - Афганский синдром
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 месяца назад
Egor Letov and his group Civil Defense are icons of the Soviet Punk, Experimental and Psychedelic Rock music genres. Unlike Kino's singer, Viktor Tsoi, Letov was unable to avoid his service in Afghanistan and had to put up with the harsh reality of war, which led him to write this song about soldier trauma. This is from their 1990 album called "Instructions for survival". =LINKS= Patreon: patre...
La Card - A Goodbye To You / La Card - Jedno Zbogom Za Tebe
Просмотров 7 тыс.4 месяца назад
A golden nugget in the Yugo synthpop scene of the 80s, this title by the band "La Card" was performed on TV in 1985. Not much is known about it from what I've seen other than the basic information given with the recording. =LINKS= Patreon: patreon.com/RedDawn1984 Instagram: reddawn1984 Discord: discord.gg/SJqq7QpR7A

One of Kaskad's most famous song, in a new shiny polished version that was somehow never published before. This is from the When Soldiers Sing concert on Soviet television in 1988. Thanks to the discord members for their help in providing the song, along with helping with lyrics and footage. =LINKS= Patreon: patreon.com/RedDawn1984 Instagram: reddawn1984 Discord: discord.gg/SJqq7...

A very interesting song from Kaskad about a soldier coming back from Afghanistan, only to be asked about it on repeat... This version is dated around 1983, supposedly from the first afghan cassette. =LINKS= Patreon: patreon.com/RedDawn1984 Instagram: reddawn1984 Discord: discord.gg/SJqq7QpR7A

This is a song from the Soviet Afghan War, talking about an Afghan girl falling in love with a Shuravi. The recording itself is from the 1982 album by VIA Tankist named "Afghanistan", VIA Tankist would later become Gruppa Kaskad. Cut the intro out and made a new one for better playback. =LINKS= Patreon: patreon.com/RedDawn1984 Instagram: reddawn1984 Discord: discord.gg/SJqq7QpR7A
Gruppa Forum - Maternal Anxiety / Форум - Материнская тревога

A very catchy song from Forum, released in 1987 with the album "За Неделю До Свадьбы". It revolves around a young man living his life, forgetting his mother as she grows older and more anxious every time they meet. =LINKS= Patreon: patreon.com/RedDawn1984 Instagram: reddawn1984 Discord: discord.gg/SJqq7QpR7A

This song is about a russian tale, that the cuckoos count how many years someone has left. I believe this is a 1984 edition of the song, and my personal favorite. =LINKS= Patreon: patreon.com/RedDawn1984 Instagram: reddawn1984 Discord: discord.gg/SJqq7QpR7A

Sounds similar to the international
Letov never entered military service because he was sent to mental asylum. Funnily enough, that's also the same reason why Tsoi wasn't conscripted lol
Letov didn't write this song - it was given to him by a group called "instructions for survival", which the whole album is named after. However, he wrote another song called "Lonotomy" which his inspired from his time in the asylum - as Viktor Tsoi wrote "Tranquilisator" based on his experience there. It's really interesting!
@RedDawn1984 I see, thank you
A new drop is imminent, it has been a month.
I try not to pressure myself with youtube, I do it when I feel like it, so don't base yourself on time! But I might make a video in December.
Нас русских не сломить
i love ur video style :)
this feels all too relatable
What documentary is in the background?
@@baneofnight315 it's a mix of two VHS found footage archives
Great work! I love this song!
Very apt song choice
Quality as always
This sounds like a used car commercial in the best way
Red dawn drop! Today is a good day.
This ones great! I'm often left wondering about those who never left captivity, like those in Badaber fortress
Woke up to see a new release of my favourite band. This day can't get any more amazing!
Belleza de canción.

@@RedDawn1984that's awesome
Thanks for the great songs
i wish more in the west listened to music outside of their borders
The guitar riffs tear into my heart.
Looks like they actually disbanded in 1985. Sucks cuz this music is awesome
Awesome version! Is this the original?
@@xXobama0Xx I believe not, as the song was given away to letov by another band, which letov named the album after
this cover the group is civil defense, but there is a joint project of the group Survival Instructions (the author of the song Afghan syndrome) and this group. By combining the names of these two groups, the new project was named: instructions for defense. it was recorded in the university dormitory)
1:42 this is the part that catchs me
Звучит прелестно, особенно с твоей работой. Жду ещё больше видео на этом канале, good job!
I wish Gruppa Kaskad released more of their old music. Their new stuff is alright, but their old stuff is what we really need on Spotify
1987
What movie/show are these clips from?
Some clips are from the movie "Afgansky Izlom (Afghan Breakdown)"
Великолепно
gr8 work, man
im not sure if letov even entered military service because he was admitted into an asylum in 1985
Was this an actual asylum or one of those political asylums?
One of his bandmates was forced to enter military service despite having a heart condition
Very based
always nice hearing other versions of songs you know, good shit
this one is hard
I imagine some of these clips are from movies?

Love the riff. Thx for upload!
Nice upload, I haven't heard this version before.
So this the 80s pop music?

Such a beautiful song, you could do Zana - Vejte snegovi, its Serb song from 90s. There was video from Kosovo War with this song i saw long time ago
Still, it's nice to see that the Cascade had not only military songs, but also peaceful ones. For example, this one is about autumn

At 1:04, What hit the T-55? A Molotov? Also is this a Yugoslavian song or Russian one because it sounds Russian
@@scrink9117 molotov, and its a Yugo synthpop song
Serb and Russian Cyrillic are pretty distinguishable, you can tell one from another for the special characters in each language and the pronunciation of letters like the E
Serbian.
