Goffs, CA is a former railroad town and stop along Route 66. In 1931, a more direct route was created between Needles and Essex. Goffs was formally known as Blake from 1893-1902. The town was named after Isaac Blake, the founder of the Nevada Southern Railway, which later became the California Eastern Railway. The town's historic schoolhouse, built in 1914 , was restored by the Mojave Desert He...

I made this as a little art project, because why not? This is a test of what I can do with my current editing software, I've never made anything like this, so it's definitely far from perfect. If you like it, great, if not, that's fine too. I mean no disrespect towards any of these locations. Thanks for the list of historical Mohave County county seats. I'm surprised that Chloride is not on the list.
Our family car was a Checker cab. I think it was a civilian owned car because if it had ever been a cab it had been hidden very well. No box mount, no holes where the box was. It had enough room in the back seat that my brother and I could sit on the floor and fool around with matchbox cars. It was a great car.
You couldn't find anything on the old mines in Quartzsite? 😂😂😂😂 guess you didn't try very hard, but it's U-BOOB so it really doesn't matter.
There is tons of info on the town and it's mining history but no, not on these specific locations. If you think it's so easy feel free to enlighten us.
Thanks for another great explore.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
I like it
Cool in the summer warm in the winter
Distinctive odor permeates the area.
I've had my Checker wagon (1971) for almost a year and I love it. I'm eager to see how yours progresses. That Belvedere is super sweet; I wouldn't change a thing on it!

Very cool 😎
Thank you!
My kingdom for one of those wagons !!!!! Love 'em .
That would one hell of a restomod with steelies and dog dishes I like Checkers
They showed be kept STOCK.
The Checker was built for commercial work and this one is a true survivor. Give it the love it deserves. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for watching! I intend to get it out and enjoy it as much as possible.
Phyllis Diller's favorite car was a Checker Marathon. She said she preferred driving the Checker over driving her Rolls-Royce as the Rolls-Royce was right-hand drive and she couldn't make left turns.
Interesting fact. Thanks for turning in!
This is absolutely a fantastic find. Forget the patina... go for the restoration and the resto-rod look. It will be worth way more money and it will have more have more street presence.
Excellent find....
Thanks!
That Checker wagon is as rare as hens teeth. Resto-mod it, nice paint and mags. It will be a sensation at car shows.
CLASSIC CARS SHOULD BE KEPT STOCK.

I think the painted windows was some one's attempt at a sun shade.
Man that a rare badass find. 👍
I've never seen a checker wagon! She's a rare one! Nice find! Beautiful Plymouth and Dodge pickup too. I owned a 52 Desoto Custom Sedan, that I bought from a guy in Pelham NH in 1986.Six volt system. Always started. I drove that car for 30 years. Had the flathead six and the "tiptoe' semi automatic. I sold it to a good friend for only 1,000. about 10 years ago. What a great car. Miss it everyday.
@dadsvespa thank you! From what I understand there's around 100 or so left.
They even made stretch versions for airport shuttles and the like.
@seed_drill7135 yep, also really neat. Those were called the Aerobus models.
Will be watching for updates on the Checker, cool car!
@dogbitefred6631 thank you! I'm looking forward to sharing it with everyone!
This model was introduced as The Superba in 1960, later changed to The Marathon. Not sure what year the wagons came out. There was also a switch from Continental to Chevrolet engines fairly early on.
When I was a kid one of my neighbors had 2 wagons one was a 59 with a continental engine, the other was a 67 wagon with a 327 GM engine, the 59 was basic, and the 67 was more luxurious.
Nice always had a soft spot for the old Checkers!
@@Mitkawatch they're awesome cars!
Note: I flipped the model designations. The A12 was the civilian model and the A11 was the taxi cab. Oops!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for pushing it i never seen one before
Wow so cool
The brite solar you saw was on the HWY to Searchlight. Leaving Boulder City headed to Henderson, left to 95 South to Seachlight
Sounds awesome, just bought an Ampeg SS 70 as a practice amp, not sure if i did the right thing but sounded pretty cool in some of the demo vids i've seen, great vid 🤘
Wow the Salton sea, they used to full this place up with a bunch of fishes then they got contaminated and the entire city became deserted
senator hairy reid used to live there i think. edit: yeah he was born there. I met hairy reid in 2008 here in las vegas at a convention hall speach. I've probably driven through there 1,000+ times. I also remember around 2005-2007 there was a "dummy" old cop car at the end of town and it sat there for years to influence people to slow down. The twist of it all was there was many many bullet holes in the windshield. So if you knew, you knew 😂
Howdy! Out of 40+ years as an assayer, I spent over 20 years in Searchlight. I last worked at the Searchlight M and M. Which is north of town. The mine in that group has a steel headframe. There is a guy on RUclips that now has it. His name is Jeff Williams. He knows everything there is to know about that area. Look him up and told him I sent you. Thanks for the share.😊
Howdy! It's awesome to hear from someone involved in the industry in Searchlight. I'll certainly look him up. Thanks for the info, and thanks for watching!
Nice riff.
What year is this Twin? Sounds great!
Any mods on this Twin? Stock speakers? It sounds sweet!
@@reidanderson8734 all stock as far as I know. The reverb is coming from a Surfybear Classic reverb tank.
@@Rustruinsrides sounds great! I use a Surfybear Compact with my Twin.
Ocean or polluted pond water more valuable than oil should incentivize ocean water for Salton Sea, Death Valley and Laguna Salada by @EirexTech the cavitation breakthrough.
I see you like classic trucks
I've got a '70 Dodge W200 with a 383 Magnum (factory) and 4 speed. Mine has a dealer added A/C with a York compressor. To answer your question, NO, those AZ carbs are trash, like most of the commercially available rebuilds. Most 'look' nice but just don't run. Best just to rebuild your own old one. I have re-bushed those carbs before. There was a company that sold kits to do it. Chicago Carburetor or Corvette or something like that. BTW, thats NOT a standard practice on those rebuilds to bush the shafts. They actually had no bushings when new. Problem with the 'remans' is they glass bead or media blast them and you NEVER get all the junk out of the small idle passages.
In my experience. A good carb should work right out of the box. New or rebuilt. W/ a possible little adjustment of course. Just saying.
Agreed, unfortunately a lot of these reman carbs aren't good.
@@Rustruinsrides I definitely agree with that. Most are rebuilt in China or Mexico. Sadly.
I really like your truck. Pretty neat seeing it has aircondititoner compressor. Those were some the best compressors dodge ever made. R12 was the very best freon ever made in my opinion. I have worked on aircondititoner systems since the prime age of 12 years old with my father who taught me well.
It's definitely neat that it has factory A/C. Thanks for tuning in!
I've switched to HFC-152a over a decade ago and it works beautifully. Just as cold as R12 and lower head pressures too. Just flush the system and run Ester oil and charge at 52-55% capacity of the R12 recommendation. It also is less prone to leaking. Mines been running 12+ years in one car with no issues or top off.
What year is the 383?
As far as I know it's the original motor, so 1970.
Thing on floor is windshield washer fluid pump foot operated.... Got a quad cab d200 '68 learned that from other guys on youtube. Totally thought them pads were gonna scratch paint badly I'm impressed with ressult, im gonna try that out on my paint too... Guess people who recommend sos pads knew what what theyre talking about.... good stuff subbed👍😎
That would make sense, definitely an interesting way to operate the washer fluid though. Yeah, it felt wrong scrubbing a car with steel wool but it worked, I'd only use it on crappy paint though. Thanks for subscribing!
Там нужно проверять радиацию. Природу испортили взрывами атомных бомб.
The nearest atomic bomb tests were conducted hundreds of miles/kilometers away in the deserts of Nevada and New Mexico. Radiation exposure thankfully isn’t a concern here.
