Verona, Italy. Visit the City of Love. Use Verona Card to explore. Walk and bus ride.
Verona is a captivating place full of history. Despite the number of enthusiastic tourists, the place does not lose its charm. From the old historic structures, piazzas, churches to the romantization of Romeo and Juliet there are lots to see and do in Verona.
We stayed here for a week and made Verona as our base to explore other parts of Northern Italy.

Florence, Italy. Fast train from Verona. Frecciarossa1000 Business class.Uffizi express.Walking tour

We travelled from Verona to Florence on the 15th of August which is a Bank holiday in Italy. We took the business class fast train which was surprisingly cheap as long as it is booked in advanced (only 5 Euro dearer compared to standard seat). It was a relaxing journey and we both wished the trip was a little bit longer. Florence is a lovely place to visit although it is packed with tourists. A...

Starting from Verona, we took an early morning train to Bolzano. The Journey was around 2 hours. We arrived at Bolzano at around 9:30 am. We headed straight to the cable car station which is about half a kilometer away. There was only a short queue at the ticket office and I was advised to best get the combo ticket since we intend to take the train at the top. There is a quick turn around of ca...

    Nice trip. I am thinking about renting a car there as well as first time from California. What rental car company did you use? Can you share tips on rental car. We will use out Citi Bank Visa which cover car rental. Any tips on driving there in terms of speed cameras, what to watch out for? Do you recommend renting a car just for one day trip to the castle. Or of course we can take trains.

    • @ryanincontrol
      @ryanincontrol 2 месяца назад

      Thank you. I used MunichCar24 as they offered the best deal at that time. Most rental companies will have a set number of mileage whereas it was unlimited with MunichCar24, they don’t charge for crossing the border as well since I drove a bit in Austria. It was also a decent car (Audi A3). I would avoid small engine cars as it is hilly in Southern Bavaria. They have nice roads there so driving isn’t challenging. There are speed cameras specially in small towns, but I didn’t find them problematic. Regarding insurance cover, I bought a full insurance from the rental company. I am not sure about the process if using your own insurance. I understand a deposit (1k euro I think) is needed, if not taking their own insurance. They may hold this on the credit card for a period of time. If you’re only going to Neuschwanstein Castle, in my opinion it would be better just to take the public transport. It is a longer journey but less hassle. Parking around the castle grounds is not easy as it fills up quickly, I think I just got lucky when we went there. Parking in Munich is also something to consider. If you want more flexibility however, like what we did, to be able to visit other towns, etc then hiring a car would be the better option.

      @ryanincontrol 2 месяца назад

      Hi. There is a fee only to enter the waterfall (as it’s in a private land) however the klamm and all its walkways are free to enter. It’s meant to be family friendly and therefore small kids should be able to manage this. As a matter of fact, there are loads of information panels on the way to the walkways to entertain the kids (goblin stories).
