This interests me very much indeed. My one concern is that, as I live in France where insurance companies go through every detail in order to find a good reason NOT to pay a claim, have any of you informed your insurance companies of the changes you made by removing the limiter? If so, what was the reaction?
@@kellandhutchence914 🙃
So it doesnt work on the classic due to the gear indicator/gauge cluster issue? So does that mean if i were to swap a hunter cluster /wires onto my classic i can get it to work? I plan on a custom headlight housing/shroud anyways
@@T-blake possibly
I'm currently debating whether to do it, ive had my meteor 350 for two years and its on 24,000 miles but the odd occasion it goes on long hauls, that limiter is a pain. Its just the price is fairly steep (£200) for another 8mph or so. Its almost like your paying for what should have been in place to begin with so it's alot to do with the principle for me. Is it really worth doing?
@@matthewS993 I think so. If your ride on motorways for me it’s a must, if not probably not
Counting down til the weather improves and mine comes back out! I have a blue 19 plate with a Yoshi can and big riot shield screen 😅
I did the exchange on my '21 Meteor. I got the extra speed as shown. I actually hit the rev limiter (not speed limiter) in 4th gear at about 78 indicated. Shifted to 5th and the bike was actually faster for once in 5th gear than 4th. 🙂Got 80 mph into the wind. Makes it better on the 65 mph back roads around here. Still not able to safely navigate on the 80-85 mph freeways , but better everywhere else. Thanks for the video. 👍

Hi @K FKW I’m looking into buying an SV650. There are two options, one from 2018 and a brand new one. The price difference is also great, but the new one has the new calipers, which you’ve installed. I haven’t ridden the new one yet, but besides your opinion (which for I am greatful) every other video says also with the newer calipers, that it’s very smushy and has poor breaking feel to it. Is it really a world of a difference? I would love to have good brakes of course, and love the V2, but don’t want to pay 3500 extra, if it’s a light change. Where do you feel the difference the most? Thank you!
@@LIFE4VW to be honest I know technically the brakes should be better but for the time and effort I wouldn’t have bothered. Get the older one and spend the cash you save on mods.
Hunter 350 too comes with speed limit in India

Did you say you cut down the rear mudguard? if so you will be kicking yourself when you come to sell.

@@doru.calatoru vibration will be felt in all those areas, yes it’s from the engine
Nice upgrades and a tidy looking bike. I myself am looking into getting ine some time later this year, and will check your channel for more updates and perhaps a review of how it handles, especially on long journeys. If you go touring with it, definitely update us here. From a fellow Meteor 350 owner. Cheers!

Can confirm this worked for me on a US-sold 2021 Meteor 350 using a RLT00187 throttle body advertised as 2023-2024 Hunter 350 part from eBay seller "royalenfieldking", ~$200 shipped from India in less than a week. The previously clear 72mph cutoff (with its annoying slow approach and "hunting" at WOT) is gone, the bike now readily accelerates to 75 and will inch up to 80 on a flat freeway. While 10% top speed improvement may not seem like much, it actually has very practical significance in this range, because the bike can now at least leisurely pass trucks that are cruising slightly over speed limit in the right lane. I did not buy a 350 to go fast, but this has been its one limitation in otherwise fairly adequate highway performance.
@@martinkosina3570 exactly! Nice one
So did my monthly 300 mile round trip on this new setup, I-80 between the Bay Area and sierra foothills. It is really remarkable how a mere 5-7mph top speed bump completely changed the character of this particular ride. It was not sketchy on the meteor before per se, but default was definitely camping in the right lane with only limited passing of trucks. Most traffic on this route seems to have their cruise set just above 70 (so exactly where stock ECU cuts out); being able to accelerate to 75+ and hold it even on slight inclines puts one in a different tier with much less competition in the 75-80 range. >80 is uncommon in my experience, that's understood to be where real speeding begins, as far as the CHP is concerned. The fuel consumption is up 15% or so at these speeds tho - used to see over 60mpg on this run, now down to low fifties with the more aggressive riding the throttle response seems to encourage. So - no magic performance increase, but the little bit it does offer can make a big difference in the right scenario.
how times change my 50cc fizzy would do 110mph , totally stock

@@kfkwAL7 alright man. I will get this done this week. Even top speed in each gear is different on hunter than on meteor.. i want to see that improve! What other mods would you recommend?
One looks fine, but FYI: You can fit a LHS one - you just have to swap the rubber spacer positions symmetrically, which requires drilling 4 more holes. The LHS pannier rail I'm not sure you can buy on its own, though. I got mine LHS and RHS in a pair at the same time.

@@Dr.Bong_ how are you finding it. I’ve not gelled with it yet. Seems vibey and around 90 (private road) it vibrates so much. Throttle is very sensitive. I’m going to check all the nuts and bolts…
@ You may want to get the ecu flashed, a lot of people are saying it really smooths out the throttle response at lower speeds and gives you much more top end (about 15hp in some cases with a new can) has it still got the stock bar end weights? If I’m super honest I was death gripping it the first time I rode it too because, without question, it’s the nicest bike I’ve ever had and it was pissing down with rain….. and I was a little nervous I’d drop it, not gonna lie. Didn’t notice the vibrations anywhere near as much the second/third day. Coming from a cbr600rr the only huge difference I’m noticing so far is how much more comfortable it seems to be.
@ took her for a real good blast down the motorway today so I could hit some decent speeds and I didn’t notice anything in the way of unwanted vibrations. Was just smooth through all the gears and power was there wherever I was in the rev range. The thing is just beautiful. Easy as hell to drive in town and absolutely gorgeous out on the twisties. I think I’m in love 😂 But like I say, I did come from an old 03 cbr600rr so it could be that I’m comparing Tesco value corned beef to m&s premium steaks and then being surprised by the difference 🤷♂️ What did you come to this from?

It’s good. I joined the Facebook owners page after I bought it. They all they seem talk down the value of these- saying they’re worth £500 at a year old but that’s just not the case. I had it a year and sold it for what I paid. There’s a real market in the cities and commuters for these. I know someone also in Scotland who had a years worth of commuting for zero (charged at work) and sold it for what he paid for it. Maintained and looked after they are great!

In order to increase the speed of the motorcycle , in Russia they simply change the leading or driven star . I have ,,a Yamaha Serow XT250,, . The standard drive sprocket has 15 teeth. I put an asterisk on 16 teeth and the speed of my motorcycle increased by 8 km/h. It 's probably easier , cheaper and good for the engine ... 😁
Hello again! I am a normal person and a professional driver with 39 years of experience and I know how to correct my mistakes. In the previous comment I wrote something stupid. Since the motorcycle has ABS, it transmits a signal to the ECU and clamps the motor from the read signal. And therefore, replacing the sprockets will not help increase the speed. Once again, I apologize to the author of the video for the mistake made. ☹

🎉Hi, great video can you please tell me if RLT00187 throttle body/ ECU also has the rev limiter deleted or does it hit a wall @ 6250 rpm? many thanks 👍
@@steveoswin6084 I will check
Hi, thanks for the informative video, can you please tell me if the rev limiter is also deleted from the RLT00187 throttle body? I have a Hunter 350 with the earlier throttle body ECU it hits a wall around 6250 rpm when going through the gears ,i understand this is not normal riding , but since i fitted the DNA filter kit, decat and fuel x pro plus it revs much more freely, the next obvious progression is to fit the stage 2 cam however with the rev limiter it wouldn't really be able to capitalise as the revs are capped so low, and yes i know its a long stroke motor , many thanks.
