Alvin Lee-I'm Going Home-Ten Years After-Guitar Lesson
First heard this song sitting in a petrol station forecourt in London back in 1988, whilst on my lunchbreak from work ... I immediately went out and bought the album on cassette! Ha ha! those were the days!
Fairly Spot On. Lovely song.
A great tutorial. Thank you so much!
About 74/75, I was less than 20. Rode my motorcycle from Huntington Beach to Riverside. JW was playing in a high school gym. Worked my way to the stage, leaned on it and watched this 130lb, cross-eyed albino, play So good & So loud!! As a young guitar player, at the time, it's a Great Memory!!!
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing your story!
Thank you for this. I have waited years for a lesson on this. So much appreciated 🙏
I think i need to take my guitar back to the shop. I havent earnt th right yet. 😢
sick, you play slide like johnny winter :)
Thanks!
dude that was sick. i love johnny winter. it's rare to find guys who play his licks with a thumb pick. he's the reason i switched to a thumbpick years ago.
Thank you!
@@johnnyguitwithit2614 dude, i have a guitar channel. i know its tough to get views, keep going. your channel deserves more subscritions. theyll come, and some sponsered videos.
Lovin' those Johnny licks!
You really helped me understand what Alvin was doing. Thanks!
This is good shit ,and you nailed it
Thank you!
Jeff's tone and playing on that first album blew me away. Copying his tone is kinda tricky but you nailed the playing. Cheers 👍
Absolutely. In some ways, I don't think Jeff could ever replicate it again.
Awesome man. Can tell how much you love Johnny. Do you have any like this with a slide?
Thank you very much, I have to work this tune to play it with my blues band. Good work. It helps me so much.
Thanks for guitin' with the Johnny guitar pickin'. Very cool.
Great lesson! I got this one nailed down shut years ago. Was always my fav Winter tune. Took me forever to get it 99.99%, but I wish I would have seen this years ago. Really not many very covers of this great tune. I played it all up on the 8th position, and while it sounds 'authentic',it's a bit off, yet it works, but, it never dawned on me to do it in the 1st position, sounds better there, because most of the fills were on around the blues box on fret 8. ..just made more sense, but oh well.... never saw how Johnny did it, but it did came out 1/2 decent, I think. It would be a helluva long video breaking all the solos down, but you're correct, Johnny would never play it live like on the record anyways, but I've always loved the studio version, he outdid himself here. Second Winter was a killer album and I wore it out daily , lol. If anyone wants to hear my copy, no video, ruclips.net/video/FuZB-K-MUYw/видео.html
Not quite it.
That's great. It reminds me of a clean Led Z Heartbreaker solo. I wonder if Jimi Page looked at this as an inspiration, BTW _ I would like it if you would consider doing the Heartbreaker solo. It seems like you could do a great job of that one too. Thanks again. These songs you are doing harken me back to the days when I was 12 first becoming enamored with guitar.
Thank you! I'll look into it!
Hi Johnny, Thanks for shedding some light on these Warren Haynes licks. Just an fyi... at 3:59 you are showing the E Mixolydian Mode aka the Dominant Scale.
Thanks for breaking this all down! Quite a job!
Thanks alot for this lesson
I can.t say enough "Thanx!!!" for you work. It.s the only one, that shows so clearly the content of the parts, what a tremendous work, I can work with! Thank you, Johnny. Kind regards, Henry 👍👏
Thank you!
Great interpretation man , Johnny is one tough act to follow! But oh so worth while!!!!
Favorite Warren Solo and Tone! More Allman Bro Style videos please. Dickey and Duane. Great job!
I seen him @2012 in a tiny bar here in Ontario ' in his seventies he burnt the place down , unreal chops!
Thanks bro That's all I need
Nice lesson Very well thought out Johnny would be impressed
At 1.01 wrong change over.
Good job
I cannot find a lesson anywhere explaining his lil chord slide in Be Careful with a Fool. Steve Marriot also uses it in a live video.
Hopefully it was helpful
Wow my fav johnny winter song. Great job!! Thank you! Im on it!
Thank you!
Your the clone of big bad Johnny 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Excellent job
Dude your fantastic you teach everone i want to learn, BRAVO
Holy moley you got him down my friend
Do you play jeff Beck by chance?
I haven't spent much time learning his style. He was an amazing unique player, RIP 🙏
Dude, fantastic I absolutely love you teaching methods
WOW excellent love it
Nice and nice tribute
Thank you!
Good lesson! I just missed the rhythmic base chords. I think it's important to know harmony and its relationship with the solo melody. anyway thank you!
You have him down cold my friend. You both are great to listen to. Very helpful. Thanks very much.
Thank you!
Using a thumb pick as Johnny did...maybe you could do short video use of a thumb pick use for us non thumb pick users looks easy perhaps? good instructional video thanks❤️🇬🇧
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into that, also another way is how alot of country players use a combination of pick and fingers. Thanks for watching!
Johnny Winter is one of the toughest players to copy, just a very high energy style that’s hard to get under your fingers
Woah!! Thank you for this my friend!! how did you do that? Just practice? Love Winter, I would like to play like him, what advice do you have for me?
Thanks! I just spent a lot of time practicing the blues Pentatonic scale. Also slowing down the playback speed on youtube helps when learning songs.
@@johnnyguitwithit2614 Thank you ! I'm goin to practice that. Winter was from another planet, his "progressive Blues" change my ear....but i can't play it hahaha only the riff of "Mean Town Blues"
"I thought you'd be bigger." Nice work! Jeff was a gem of a player/singer/writter!
Thanks, He was amazing!
Great song and great job explaining it! Now if I can just get my fingers to do it
Very nice, for me to poop on
Thanks
Thanks for this, really appreciate your time and sharing 👍😊💜✌️
Thank you!
Great stuff! I think Warren shines on the solo on this song at House of Blues as well, if not more.
