Добавлен 13 фев 2023
The Film Music Foundation (FMF), a nonprofit California Public Benefit Corporation, promotes appreciation of the art and craft of film music through education, filmed interviews, scholarly research and writing, and film scoring workshops for students.
The FMF was founded in 2001 by composers Elmer Bernstein and Herschel Burke Gilbert, with the assistance of attorney Les T. Zador, son of orchestrator Eugene Zador. A dedicated group of composers, historians and other film music professionals were invited to join the board. Our funds are used to support film-scoring workshops, lectures and conferences; preserve and catalogue historic scores for further study; and subsidize research, writings, and multimedia endeavors focused on film-music genres, topics and individuals. We invite you to browse our website and, if qualified, apply for a grant by following the Guidelines in the Funding section.

David is very underrated Composer. He is my favorite James Bond Composer after John Barry. My introduction to his work was on Stargate. I remember seeing Stargate in theaters a loved the score I was about 10 years old when I saw the film and it was an early film that got me into loving movie scores. Jurassic Park had just the year before and it was one of the first film scores I asked my parents to buy, then after that was Stargate. Then just a few years later David Did Independence Day 96" and had to get that soundtrack, Then David took over the bond Franchise in 1997 which lead to him scoring the next 5 Bond films. I was bummed that he was gone from bond franchise, but shortly after The new Sherlock Series debut in 2010 which was an amazing series. I know david has much more work but those were some of my favorite things he has done.
wait.....he's.....not BRITISH? why did I think he was british?
This cat is fucking cool!!!
"I wrote it in the car on way home" Now i know where it got it vibes..
I couldn't imagine the Simpsons having any other theme tune. It perfectly summed up the choas and humour of the show!
He's extremely well versed in less common modes and modal shifts. It's so cool.
Homie needs to get his teeth fixed
Will that help with his music??
I still have his only a lad album to remind me of the better times.
I completely forgot that Danny wrote the theme song to The Simpsons! ❤
I heard he agreed to take $100 for each episode that played the music, which was a bargain for the first run of shows they had in mind. However, they hadn’t reckoned on the Worldwide success and repeats..nice story if it’s true????
3 minutes into King Crimson's epic track sounds very much like the Simpson's theme
Homer with hair
Danny Elfman is supremely talented. I am a huge fan.
Didn’t even realize the wrote the simpsons theme Jesus this guy does everything
Elfman took the theme from “The Jetsons” and added one note. It’s brilliant!
I used to love The Simpsons but I only really know his name because of Nightmare Before Christmas.
"I wrote it in the car on the way home." That's next level texting and driving.
Thank you Danny, for ALL THR GREAT SHOWS and all the wonderful tunes. You are a masterclass.
Can anyone name comparable talent today?
Interesting. I guess I didn't realize he wrote it! I thought someone else in the music department did 😂
One genius recognizing another.
Wait .. Danny Elfman was in Oingo Boingo?!? How did I miss this? WTH.
A compelling, and completely engaging interview. I find myself, absolutely glued to my 6.1” screen. Thank You!
In an iconical way- It STICKS in your head. When you hear it, in Pavlovian response, you run for the TV.
Danny Elfman is special man. Very few ppl are on his level creatively
I lowlve how elfman is like and interview with a metal head and a movie score composer. Well done dannington
He is one of my all time favorite composers, so fun and quirky and full of life. The Beetlejuice theme is my all time favorite.
OH, I loved you as Mr. Pink!
It’s really just a reboot of “Nasty Habits”.
All I do is fart in the car.
I always thought he was british
“Bum bum bum bum bum bum” all of his stuff is exactly the same except for a few soundtracks
Only thing is, Elfman ripped off - I mean, riffed off of and was influenced by - _The Jetsons_ theme, despite his mentioning here that it brought him "back to Hanna Barbara - The Flintstones".
He looks great
If you listen to the Oingo Boingo song Nasty Habits you can hear the kind of instrumentation from the soundtrack of the Simpsons.
Musical genius.
Williams is often called the greatest but he's arguably second. The Burton Batman theme alone is enough to be a legend.
This is before Danny Elfman started styling his hair like vampire Carrot Top
And then Matt went to Epstein Island
This story is wild!
Aw I like that story.
The Simpsons is the Jetsons theme song slightly changed.
Not quite
This dude looks MAD young for someone who wrote the Simpsons theme.
bro looks like a simpson
Scott Adams vibes “f-it” great interview
That’s an amazing story!
"I don't know if you remember.." "Oh I assure you I've never forgotten."
I'm not sure what I expected Danny Elfman to look like, but, this sure wasn't it.
LOL. That’s hilarious.
Great story. But remember, still a rapist
